When you’re drawing the mountains you make a straight line, and continue from that point to extend the line down. How do you achieve that? Once I straighten a line I have to lift my pen to keep drawing.

Create two circles in different layers. Then select the one which you want to remove. Then come to the other layer and use erase tool. Then delete the unwanted layer, that's it.
