Hyped for this one! I've never met Phil. Michael is awesome! Let's get into it! Opening framing is awesome! The plastic wrapped pallets with the Krix logo is awesome! So - very early into the video. But I'm already seeing a lot of craftsmanship going into these speakers. It seems that Krix preps the wood/enclosures per order. Pretty slick... Wait...running Tony? These b-roll shots are awesome! Incoming new GIF... Phil coming in clutch again with explanations Oh man...happy Tony in the next shot with all of the THIC BOI Krix...I think these are commercial cinema speakers? I'll keep watching... Jodie is already awesome... her tattoos! Her attention to detail for no "buzzes or rattles". This is very important in the process. Ask my wife - buzzes or rattles DRIVE ME BONKERS! Jodie on the fold of the cabinet! It is SO akward having a camera film you doing anything. Jodie is my new hero! LX-7 coming up! Ryan on the final assembly. Adding the made in 'Straya sticker and Krix sticker. Love it! Phil with the neck tattoo is awesome, but he has room to add a Krix tattoo...just saying... Woah! The serial code and testing is awesome how they track all of the data. More b-roll Tony walking around. He looks so happy seeing how all of it comes together. Aiden = Thor. Yep - made it look easy fitting and cutting the speaker cloth to the grille. Matte = Matt (me) = "shows everything" = Krix is more awesome now due to their attention to detail Side note - love that the Krix staff can wear shorts and be comfy in their workplace. Maybe that's common in AUS? Ending the video "Bye for now" Mate - what an epic video! I can tell that you had so much fun learning, filming, and absorbing on this trip. Thanks for letting us join you on this journey 👊👊👊👊👊👊
2 things, in order if importance: 1 - The transition of Tony sprinting around the factory like an excited kid had me absolutely cackling. 2 - The efficiency and inventiveness of the factory is absolutely wild. There's an obvious focus on making things efficient, simple and fast. The movable work bench that sits on top of the tubs of components is a great example. Stellar video Tony. I consider myself a blooming Krix nerd and this was so damn cool to see!
I have a bit of a Krix story to tell. I was doing a gig at the Thebarton theatre when this gentleman walks up to the console to critique the sound. We start talking audio like two geeks in a hardware shop. It turns out he's the chief designer for Krix! I'd just move to Australia and the name was new to me then. He invited me over to the factory and gave me the whole dang tour. And for the piece de resistance, they have a cinema 5.1 setup in their listening area on which he played the Dark Side of the Moon SACD! Great guys! Great product!!
I was fortunate enough to get a tour of the factory when i took my speaker grills up to be replaced (dog slobber all over them). Michael was very kind and took the time to show me around. So many of the older speakers up on a display wall!
That would be a very cool video - I'm not sure when I'll be down there next and they were very acomodating for me this time round setting up the stations for me to record.
Great insight into the quality and process that goes into making these speakers. Clean, well organised workshop is awesome to see too! Il be visiting next time in Adelaide too!
Awesome tour. I’ve held on to my B&W speakers since 1980. Unfortunately, the drivers are all shot. I can only find one set of used bass drivers. No telling if they’ll work or not. So I’m afraid it’s time to try and give away the cabinets at this point. No takers so far. For pick up only in the U.S. since they’re so heavy.
i live in adelaide im a kef fan but i recently found a pair of krix at savers hey wow they are fabulous im a a fan now definitely keepers ,thinking of getting more lol...
Hello from the UK, if I am not watching Dolby or IMAX I go to my local VUE cinema. Every seat in the cinema is a leather recliner and every speaker is KRiX! Always sounds awesome 😊
I have the Neuphonix MK1 in the wood veneer Atlantic Jarrah which I purchased back in 2011 which still look brand new. Being 4 ohm these needed the right amplifier to make them sing. I bought these firstly because I wanted to buy a Australian made product. Would I recommend these? Most certainly I would. No buyer regret here.
@jasonhotzel942 Hi Jason, the drivers are engineered in house, then manufactured to our spec by some of the leading driver manufacturer's around the world. The Australian Made logo has specific criteria that must be met including materials, labour etc, which we must comply with before being able to put the logo onto the product.
I'm sure some components are made overseas, like most things, you may need to import certain things to keep production going, but as you can see, from a piece of laminated MDF (made in Australia) to the CNC machining, design and engineering and construction, including the crossovers are all made here, and assembled here - you literally see the process in the video... I'm trying to understand the intention behind your questions... because it's like you're saying unless 100% of every molecule is from here it's not made in Australia? Otherwise why go to the trouble of posting the question...?
That was very interesting how Krix speakers 🔊 get built I did not know how much detail when they Krix speakers get built Thank you showing Krix factory..
A pity they have never made one hi-end speaker. It's either a high quality disco speaker for commercial theater apps or cheap home theater speakers for the masses. Too hard for them I guess.
Thank you so much for making this video. During the lockdown (another alleged conspiracy created by Trudeau's ties to Communist China.....hahaha, kidding), my neighbour went on a rant about the 15-min city conspiracy. I had no idea what he was on about. That is, until I realized he was referring to this very idea. The fact that people think this is mind blowing. I couldn't believe it was real life. While your subscribers should get how this works, there will always be these folks that choose to keep their heads in the sand. Cheers

Thanks for the detailed walkthrough :) hopefully one day I get down here and see what all the fuss is about.
Thanks Tony. I've owned Krix for almost 20 years. So good to see the process. And still made in Australia.
Yes!
Lucky devil! I hope that we will get Krix in the USA in the future. Hopefully by the time me and wifey move and build the next home theater

Haha! Yes, it was something funny we added in - so much more footage but we chopped it down to keep it flowing better. Thanks for watching.
To comment 1 - I had the same thought on this! Was a lot of fun
Nice to see some good old fashioned aussie made products!
100%

Great video, good to see a video like this about Krix.
Glad you liked it!
Yes yes yes…. Fantastic video Tony… How good are Krix, so happy to have there products, thanks for such a great insight.
The best!

I love these kinds of videos, showing all of the details that go into making such gray products!
thats a very cool job how speakers are made and build
Really enjoyed watching this one, very different from your usual but fascinating to see the process and detail required. Great job Krix and BM!
Many thanks!
Agreed - awesome video! Fun to see something different on the channel
Great....love your HT speakers....got a demo in Singapore at your dealer....Mr.Ravi is a pro....hoping to get my hands on them.
The "Made In Australia" sticker!!! proud to be an Aussie. Oi Oi Oi
Awesome tour! Great work Tony! It would be great if you did another tour of them making a MX-30, from start to finish!
That would be a very cool video - I'm not sure when I'll be down there next and they were very acomodating for me this time round setting up the stations for me to record.
Would love a pair of those X series subs here in the USA?
Great insight into the quality and process that goes into making these speakers. Clean, well organised workshop is awesome to see too! Il be visiting next time in Adelaide too!
Summed up great!
Thanks heaps, great video, big fan of Krix loudspeakers, love my old pair of Superbrix 👍
Thanks for watching!
Great video! Makes we want to buy Krix

It's hard to swap once you've experienced it :D

The Beard at Krix, all is right with the world.
🙌
fantastic will defintely be looking at trying some Krix
What speakers are you intersted in?
Are the actual drivers made in Australia? Or overseas.
Cool
I’m not I was just curious
So where do the drivers come from
Of that I’m not sure! Maybe send them a message if it’s important for you to know : krix.com.au :)

So how much of the product is made in Australia
What is prompting your question? I showed a factory tour in Adelaide of the speakers being built so I'm trying to understand what you mean.
oh man...time for a new live comment thread....
That is very cool!
I meant are all the components made in Australia
You can import from overseas and still say Australian made
I'm sure some components are made overseas, like most things, you may need to import certain things to keep production going, but as you can see, from a piece of laminated MDF (made in Australia) to the CNC machining, design and engineering and construction, including the crossovers are all made here, and assembled here - you literally see the process in the video... Nice Kool!
For a moment I thought it was a bloke in the blue vest
It gets hot in the factory! That day hit 40c in Adelaide, I'd be wearing a singlet and shorts too!
@@BuildMontage I wasn't trying to be offensive I'm a subscriber enjoying your video contents keeping up to date. Thanks 😉
That was very interesting how Krix speakers 🔊 get built I did not know how much detail when they Krix speakers get built Thank you showing Krix factory..
Glad you enjoyed it
Yes I did very much so.
I didn't realize Krix specialized in professional cinema and offered Home Cinema as a side. If I ever own my own home, I think I'll know where to go.
🙌
Rather than using that packing tape I wonder if they could use far less tape and use gaffer tape as that would leave no real residue for them.
Love a good Aussie business. I’ve heard MX-10’s and MX-20’s in a demo room at West Coast hi fi Perth….. phenomenal products.
The box is made here. But where are the speakers made.
The speakers are made in Australia. The box forms part of the speakers. Some parts like the drivers are sourced from other locations possibly.
OMG PLEASE KRIX SELL YOUR SPEAKERS IN AMERICA!!!
A pity they have never made one hi-end speaker. It's either a high quality disco speaker for commercial theater apps or cheap home theater speakers for the masses. Too hard for them I guess.
Sure champ
Bwhaha. I love a good champing. Deserved too.
