    I don’t know about other countries, but here in mine a 9/10 original EK9 cost as much as a used 8-9/10 FK8. That is like a 1.6 n/a against 2.0 turbocharged civic, spoke with Daisuke from Spoon Sport Japan. To my shock EK9 getting hard to find in Japan, most of those carss in bidding warehouse now with buyer in the long list of line to buy the car. Still remember he said “It just a 1.6 civic, I don’t understand why you people go crazy about it.”

    They’ll come down with the market, as they currently are then go up again once more and stagnate. Not for really rare example obviously but for the majority yea. M-Spec’s are barely selling and it’s always the same people bidding on them on BAT, Cars and bids, and Japanese auctions just to keep prices up. They’ll bid like $100k the first day

    Japanese halo cars were always pegged to be future classics. Recent pricing spikes have proven this, the time for performance bargin imports is over, these cars are now entering the collectors realm. If you want one of these and it's right on the edge or slightly above your budget then find a way to get the funds asap, prices are only going to go north.

    Midnight Purple Tspec in 2025?

  • @shechshire
    @shechshire 2 місяці тому +1

    I like the t-spec with the rectangular grills & the midnight purple color. It's like they're realizing that incorporating z/fairlady design cues makes it look hideous so in an attempt to make the GTR look less hideous, they're trying to make it look more like a Skyline (as in prior to the renaming of the Skyline to what used to just be a trim, GTR). It looks more aggressive with sharp lines & less bubbly with curvish line. I actually like the interior as is. I really appreciate the all black, no alcantera, plastic, soft touch materials, leather & no stitching although I'm okay with same color stitching. I also like the rectangular ac vents & center console. I think it looks very sleek, clean, & sporty but also very comfortable.

      @@NightsN2dr3ams I agree with you... speed isn't a factor (well until you 1000hp+ up these things), but what people also forget is not that everyone wants to go fast or play "lego" with their cars, they just buy based on what was accomplished with the car and simplicity that went with it.
      Of course biggest factor was "how epic it is"... and the R34 for some reason got the "epic" factor. (I'm not dissing it, I actually like the car).

    UK viewer here! What a load of b0l0x about the drive by sounds on the new r35's!! For real!?
    If I had a line to whoever came up with that, I'd be telling at them on yours and everyone else's behalf for sure!
    I had a massive spec r32 rb20det forged back in the sub £10k/ days here and it was a great car, but yea, not worth the £20k+ some models command here in the UK now IMO- but I think that's where you drumming it home "only you can decide" makes that message clear to people looking to buy these old jdm legends at the insane prices they're commanding
    Keeping this vid handy to share with people I meet who ask me the is it worth it question moving forward! I always find it hard to articulate it.
    If I hadn't owned one, and still wanted one--probably yes - having owned one, and thoroughly enioyed it and my time with it when I did, not for me now at those prices.
    (I got out of my r32 gtst at about 16k here in the UK having bought it before the Internet folklore at about £6500, that appreciation covered all my maintenance and repair bills in my ownership period)

      @mo_kxi_blu-ny1zp 2 місяці тому

      @ve2430 There are plenty of examples of great classic cars coming down in value. As mentioned, the gtr is cool and will always hold some value, but once people realise what they are buying prices will come down. At the end of the day, buying a base modle r34, doing the drivetrain, rear quarters, and full gtr kit is cheaper than buying an actual gtr, once people see this gtrs will come down and base models will go up. That has been happening since cool cars were available.

      @@mo_kxi_blu-ny1zpwouldn't that instead make the GT-R version EVEN more expensive? Some people really insists on authenticity and will pay top money for a real Skyline GT-R for example compared to a "GT-R'd" Skyline.

    • @mo_kxi_blu-ny1zp
      @mo_kxi_blu-ny1zp 2 місяці тому

      @PlatinumNath I understand what you are saying and yes.. to a degree. Only very rich collectors can really afford a nice gtr, Also the gtr spread across 5 relevant generations makes it quite common (plenty of opportunities to own a gtr). Its desirability is based off pop culture and in the case of the r32, racing heritage. Gtrs have become the mustang of the jdm world, some cars will remain unobtainable (400r and say an original Eleanor) but more common chassis do go down. Another great example is the Ferraris 355 (this already super long but i recommend doing some research if your interested). Now, yes, these cars most likely will remain high in price but they won't all live in that 100k mark forever. Once people start mainstream converting sedans and other lesser trims, the buyers who actually want (not collectors) will not justify the price of a gtr at all either making them more iconic or (what I think will happen) collectors start to see a stagnate pool of expensive gtrs laying around and prices start to drop, as we cant afford them and there is too many for collectors to property value them highly, thus making them less desirable overall unless its a gtr of some significance (eg, 400r - 2f2f r34). As I said before, inflating the price of lesser trims and deflating the price of actual GTRs

They can look aggressive blacked out with TE37's, but a fuckin Chevy Cavalier would look aggressive blacked out with TE's.
