Lying Down Next to You
Does your bunny flops or sprawls next to you? Good! This means that your rabbit trusts you and feels safe around you. A rabbit who lays on her back or side, with her legs out and belly exposed, is in a very vulnerable position. This is because they are not able to instantly rise up and dash away if danger comes by.
If your little pet comes next to you and lays on their side, it’s a clear sign that they trust you.
They groom you
Grooming is another way rabbits show their affection. In the wild, rabbits participate in social grooming and lick other rabbits that they are bonded with.
When a rabbit licks you or your clothing, it means that they see you as a member of their family. They love you and they groom you to show that they care about your well-being and cleanliness.
They purr in your presence
Believe it or not, rabbits can purr, and this behavior is also known as tooth clicking. It happens when a rabbit lightly rubs their teeth together. This makes a quiet form of clicking sound and causes the bunny’s head to vibrate a little.
Rabbits click their teeth when they're happy, comfortable and content.
If your rabbit gently grinds their teeth while you pet them, it is a clear sign that they are happy to be in your arms.
They rub their chin on you
Chinning is another way that rabbits express their affection.
Chinning is when a rabbit rubs their chin against an object such as a toy. Rabbits have scent glands under their chins. When they rub their chin against something, a tiny amount of their specific scent is deposited on that object, essentially marking it as theirs. Believe it or not, chin marking is a serious business for rabbits. It’s a rabbit’s way to mark their territory and claim an object as theirs.
If your rabbit massages her chin against you, she is claiming you as hers and is telling other rabbits, “This owner is mine.”. It means your little pet adores you so much that it wants to designate you as their very own.
Your Rabbit Makes an oinking sound
Oinking or honking is an audible sound your rabbit may make. This is a soft sound that could be compared to a pig’s oink. Rabbits make this sound when they are happy and excited. It shows your rabbit loves you.
They look for your attention
Bunnies are very skittish animals and it takes a while for most rabbits to trust their human.
If your rabbit nudges you with their nose or comes up to you and put their head down to ask for head rubs, or even when they move closer to your hand for caresses, that’s a clear sign that they love you and enjoy spending time with you.
They enjoy your company
Rabbits can be very timid. For most rabbits, it’s distressing and uncomfortable to be in a human’s arms or hands, even those of the people who feed them. When your little pet is merely just relaxed in the same room as you, it is a huge indicator that they love you.
They binky when they see you
A binky is a sign of a happy rabbit. This is when a bunny makes a large jump into the air with a funny little twist. A binky is often accompanied with high speed zooming around the room as it lets out their happy, pent up energy. If your rabbit binkies or runs at top speeds when they see you, it’s a clear sign that they love you and are excited to be around you.
Running Circles Around your Feet
When your rabbit runs around your feet, they are showing you excited affection. They may even run zooming circles around you, or weave between your legs as if they are trying to trip you.
They display this behavior to show just how excited they are to see you. Like when you come home after being away for some time. They may run toward you and circle your feet to express their excitement.
They are calm in your presence
One of the signs that you have gained the confidence of your rabbit is that they seem relaxed and calm in your presence. My Rabbit was very expressive with his love for me. Whenever I'd get home from work, I'd let him out of his very large crate and he'd run around me in circles while jumping and shaking his tail. He taught me so much.

Our first one was like that. His name was Bradford. He was in a pet store for like 1-2 months....and he was so sweet. Kissed my wife's hand the very first time he met her. Eventually, she gave me the ultimatum that if he was still there the next time we did our weekend mall trip, we were taking him home. We did and we had him for 10+ years. Him and his first bonded pair were together for 7 years. We only do rescues now (shelters, rehomes, etc.)...Brad was our only pet store bunny and we would never do it again...but he was our angel 🐇🐇

My bunny did the same, when I was crying she jumped up and licked all the tears off my face! She also used to sleep under the duvet with me. She was all cute and fluffy and lived longer then the lady at the shop said she would live, she only died because she got cancer. She was coming up to 9 years of age when she died, she was predicted to last only 4-6 years! She was my first best friend and I loved her so much! RIP

Bro , my rabbit alive for 7 years , when we bring to home that was 3 months , it is forest rabbit ,but it also loves my family members , it was very clean rabbit , he makes all activities in vedio , it alive like one of the member in a family , and it was dead by disease like teeth grinding , doctors neglected to give the treatment .😭😭😭😭😭
I realized that my male bunny was fully bonded to me when I was able to walk up behind him, lay down and rest my head against him, and at most he would turn his head and start grooming me.
Also whenever I was sitting at my desk I had to check around my feet before stretching or standing up or I accidentally kick him.
Rabbits are precious and very smart animals. With lots of love and good care, your rabbit will grow to trust and love you.

that's because you may bring alien smells on you! when mine was younger he used to be scared too, but later this disappeared, because he learned that I could bring other smells with me but I remained myself! he also used to be scared when I brought in unusual objects, like large boxes or an overcoat, which probably distorts the general sillouhette of me... bunnies need experience but they learn well! there are many things that may scare them, but they learn to filter them away
one time i was on camp with my bffs and then we saw two rabbits (or bunny's) we put our finger in the cage and they immediatly came for us to pet them. they have names and there own but we thought of other names. they actually listen! they always come to us. always come for food. they are so cuteee.

Some of these signs, specifically the honking and circling of your feet, can also be a sign that it's time to get them neutered! 😂

I wish there was more awareness around rabbit ownership, there's so much to learn, even after 7 years my bunny is still teaching me new things. Whatever though, never keep bunnies in cages!
One subset of binkies that I have observed in some of the rabbits I've had is what I call the "shimmy". The main version resembles what dogs do when they shake/dry themselves off (twisting their body back and forth quickly to shake off water/dirt)....the rabbit will twitch their body like that quickly when they're excited or happy....like if you have a treat or if they're happy to see you. He/she might "shimmy", then run over to get/beg for the treat. Twitching of the ears back and forth by shaking their head seems to be related as well.

My rabbit occasionally gives me a huge wet kiss on the lips and then shoves a stick of dynamite in my mouth and runs away before it explodes and turns my face black. Which is highly offensive.
They offended the rabbit, but we took it away and fed it. And now six years have passed. He grew up into such a TYUTYUSA!!!

One of my way of reciprocating was singing. He loved it when i sing softly while he sleep on my chest. He also loved gentle massages. He started me on cruelty-free products, against animal testing, vegan diet and vegan lifestyle no leather no fur no feathers no animal entertainment exploitation. He made me more sensitive to animal suffering, donating to rabbit animal shelters and signing online petitions on animal cruelties. All these things I wasn't aware of before. With us 8 and half years. I miss him so much everyday. Our special bond.
Rabbits being very fragile and needing sensitive care, are for adults not childten.

I adopted a full grown male bunny that was circling and honking at me in day one. However it had fleas, after a bath, cutting his hair, he was thumping and giving me an attitude.
After fiercely whooping his ass, he does not do circles anymore.
yup reminds me of the only pet rabbit I ever had she was a cute lil thing my mother got for Easter my mother may have of intended it for herself but the lil thing bonded to me the most though one thing she had a habit of was if I want paying any attention to her while I was doing the dishes or something the would walk up to my leg sit up on her hind legs and gently scratch at my calves to get my attention anyone else have that happen to then or was a unique quirk of hers? really miss that little fluff ball of love.

Oops. My brother had a rabbit once indoors when he was in high school. Because we didn't trust most of our dogs and cats with her, we tried to keep her closed up his room or in a large crate. I tried to let her out and roam around the room a little for some exercise with my abnormally short jack Russell terrier. He was so happy to have another animal in the house about his height and she was an albino lion headed rabbit. Anyway, once I let the rabbit out and she started doing binkies. I thought she might've been bitten hard by a flea or something and her binkies scared my dog. She seemed kinda confused by my dog's reaction afterwards and I didn't know what to say other than tell my dog it's okay.
