For those with the necro level to have all 4 conjures and conjure undead army, this is a nice lossless upgrade. There are some cases where command would be good for the AOE. Overall it is a bit underwhelming but I'll take what is essentially a free buff
The AOE works so well at Elite Dungeons, but for the bosses, let's say Seiryu Crystals or Ambassador Spinners, even Sanctum Bosses, the Command feels very, very underwhelming. The 5% damage reduction is nice on top of the Death Warden relic, maybe even with the Crystal Shield 4 Perk, but outside of it, not very noticeable. The Phantom Command is great for AOE Slayer Mobs and Elite Dungeons Trash Mobs, but other than that, I'd say it's just better off outside your rotations. It's like an IRL monkey wrench, it fits a very specific need, but if you want to use it as a hammer, it may not be the most effective tool.
@@Calameaty There are a lot of people saying it's completely and utterly useless, I disagree. 5% DMG reduction can be significant over time (say for a 20 min hm zuk run), but overall it's not hugely impactful and not necessary for a lot of bosses, especially the quick fights where you bank often, or ones that darkness is already sufficient to sustain. So yes, I'd say it is a bit underwhelming but still balanced, I think that's a fair take on it.
Conjour Vorkath: Using 5 ectoplasm Vorkath flies in from the sky to shoot a flaming meteor at the targets area dealing X amount of damage to enemies within 5x5 of the target area. Cannot be extended. Will not activly fight for you. (magma tempest) Nah idk.
So Mod Ryan made a good point for why it’s hit based. Because if it was damaged based it becomes increasingly less useful the stronger you are and once you hit it where enemies are splashing on you the phantom would literally do nothing.
If you make one please mention this: Conjure Undead Army is, right now, a Jack of all trades but master of none. Because Putrid Zombie is key for Poison Builds as much as Phantom is for Tank Builds, with Skelly and Ghostie being basically "wildcards" for either build. If/when we get more conjures, Zombie and Phantom will have their time to shine; for example with a Conjure that occupies 3 Slots, but pertains to a Tank build, or with another conjure that uses 2 Slots and works wonderfully on a Poison Build (alongside Zombie and Skelly). It's worth remembering, Necro isn't finished yet! We still haven't seen part/batch 2, even a year later.
They could have just... Made the Phantom Auto attack, increased the DR to 10% including typeless (so it's kind of a walking Death Ward relic), and the command a single blast attack. BUT! To balance it out, they should have made the Phantom Occupy 2 Slots instead of 1.

That's EXACTLY the purpose of this Conjure. People forgot Jagex is aiming towards a "Build Specific" game approach, they want us to build specific presets for specific tasks. No wonder the TANK Specific conjure underperforms in a Poison/Crit Build.
@@eChuckNorris yes you could, but it's kinda like Summoning all 4 against Posion Immune Bosses, where the Zombie doesn't do much. On a Crit Build, the Phantom doesn't really shine, but on a Tank Build it definitely does. On a Posion Build the Zombie is phenomenal, but against poison Immune Bosses it's not that great.

The command ability is still quite a nice thing to have, Already its come in handy with arch glacor when I get minions and my ToF is in CD I can soul strike and command and it usually clears them up

I know Necro can be OP but you really gotta start using your defensive abilities lol. I'm maxed out Necro Gear but Zuk HM, and all the Elite Dungeons required me to still use defensives. Yes I eventually cleared them all using Necro after learning defensives but with how chill Necro is. It taught me how to use my defensive abilities since Necro is more forgiving in Punishing moments. Like at first I was a turtle trying to click a defensive but since Necro is chill I survive and heal fast but now I'm fast at clicking the defensive and I took learning defensives from Necro to the other combat styles and I just recently cleared all the content I mentioned with all the other combat styles at least 1 time 3 days ago. I dropped Necro now and just use mage and it feels great using another combat style after a year straight of Necro. I would use the relaxing nature of Necro to start practicing which defensive abilities to use. Trust me. It will help you a lot and since you can cast bone shield with Necro. You take out needing to shield swap on the other combat styles.

If/When we get MORE CONJURES later down the line, I wouldn't be surprised if we get a Conjure that uses 3 Slots and gives a hefty Defensive advantage, or another that uses 2 Slots but greatly benefits Poison builds. Right now it sucks because we have a jack of all trades master or none, with Conjure Undead Army.

I'd wager the Nerf will make Ghost Healing go from 140% to 100% (balanced) or 40% (extreme nerf). And the Reaver will have its effect not proc poison or something like that, while also healing considerably less. Nothing of these nerfs have been confirmed, but just be warned Jagex already has them on their radar.

The Phantom is on the same level of "underwhelming" as the Zorgoth or Occultist Ring. All of them pertaining to a specific build, but not being good when used in conjunction with a "DPS" Build, which consists on just equipping all your BIS items and hoping they work well.
For the Phantom to truly shine, we'd need another conjure (that occupies 2 or even 3 Slots in the Undead Army), that pertains to a Tank Build (Deathwarden). Same with Zombie, we'd need a Conjure that works well with Cinderbane Gloves and against poisonable targets. Otherwise, we're just wasting Ectoplasm, and we'd be better off with just Ghost + Skeleton, which is the combination to use for Bosses that are immune to poison.
The phantom fulfills the role of a hellhound and stacks with the familiar's effect, meaning you can either become super tanky with both or simply open up your familiar slot.

Big fuck you to Jagex for constantly giving Necromancy all the damage reduction in the game. Meanwhile melee gets an unusable armor set with baby damage reduction numbers equalling 9% (and change) at the cost of glove, boot, shield slot, helm, invention perks.
Relax Dude, this 5% DR isn't as noticeable or crazy as it may initially seem. Test it out at the Nakatra Fight, especially during the Sand Realm. And the Command Ability doesn't even consistently take out the Corrupted Felines from the sand realm either. I understand the feeling of giving more tools to necro, but this one isn't even worth fighting over. That's why, as a Short Term addition, it doesn't feel great, but we'd have to look at it from a long term perspective.
5% but capped at 220 doesn't sound good in the slightest, isn't that like the equivalent of having to take 4.3k dmg 9 times just to essentially get one shark worth of damage reduction. this feels like its only good at aoe slayer tasks where max damage per enemy is like 500-1000.
It also scales with equilibrium aura, I’m sitting on 260 cap with t100 so it’s applying to any hit up to 5.2k. Not a crazy buff by any means but it’s permanently in the army for sure
Considering they're re-re-releasing Assassin's Return AGAIN, alongside Slayer Wildcards Wednesdays, and potentially, possibly Proteans (my guess) in the future. This sounds like the final death throes of Treasure Hunter. Jagex will liquidate TH in the coming future so expect a heavy handed increase in Promotions in the coming months, because I'm suspicious next year they'll talk about its replacement. Which is why membership costs are so high now, and why they're pushing for these "day specific" treasure hunter promotions.
Hopefully, in the future they'll sell conjure skins for Runecoins, or add them to rare drop tables from specific Seasonal Events. Like, 1/100 Drop from the Halloween Event or 120 Runecoins if you don't wanna grind or you're an iron man, or ~10M in the G.E.

Not really unless you're fighting Rasial with a Tank Build. If you're using a Crit Build (Reaver's Ring/Grim/Biting 4/ Kal'gerion Demon/ Zerk Fury Relic/ Mahjarrat Aura) the Phantom Doesn't really do much, you'll barely notice any difference in the damage you take. But if you use a Tank Build (Leviathan Ring/ Crystal Shield or Absorbative 4 Perks/ Hellhound / Death Ward Relic / Equilibrium Aura) just to name a few examples, you'll DEFINITELY see a difference in the damage you're taking.
Not the best idea because it'll make your zombie explode. Then again, if it works like the Conjure ability, you could just not add the zombie... Okay, yeah. Sounds like a good idea after all

Saving SOME food is useless in my situation at this boss. The ELITE pvm crowd will NEVER stand for it though.

Literally zombie 2.0. Good to put in summon army. Not good for summoning separately or using the command ability. Fairly certain it's not worth a gcd for the command ability in most places.
Right now it is, but we can't really say if it will stay like this once more conjures get released. Because all these Conjures don't have a rhyme or reason, they pertain to at least 3 Different builds but don't really shine on any of them, as of right now at least.

Personally, the Phantom turned my Osseous AFK strat from 35kph to 36, so I'll take that extra drop chance, even with it costing me an extra 150k/h :p

Big fuck you to Jagex for constantly giving Necromancy all the damage reduction in the game.
Meanwhile melee gets an unusable armor set with baby damage reduction numbers equalling 9% (and change) at the cost of glove, boot, shield slot, helm, invention perks.
Relax Dude, this 5% DR isn't as noticeable or crazy as it may initially seem. Test it out at the Nakatra Fight, especially during the Sand Realm.
And the Command Ability doesn't even consistently take out the Corrupted Felines from the sand realm either.
I understand the feeling of giving more tools to necro, but this one isn't even worth fighting over.
That's why, as a Short Term addition, it doesn't feel great, but we'd have to look at it from a long term perspective.
Melee could use some love tho, that's 100% a fact, and something I'm personally waiting over.

5% but capped at 220 doesn't sound good in the slightest, isn't that like the equivalent of having to take 4.3k dmg 9 times just to essentially get one shark worth of damage reduction. this feels like its only good at aoe slayer tasks where max damage per enemy is like 500-1000.
It also scales with equilibrium aura, I’m sitting on 260 cap with t100 so it’s applying to any hit up to 5.2k. Not a crazy buff by any means but it’s permanently in the army for sure

just put it as a slot in undead army and don’t use the command ability i think that’s the best way to use this conjure

Considering they're re-re-releasing Assassin's Return AGAIN, alongside Slayer Wildcards Wednesdays, and potentially, possibly Proteans (my guess) in the future.
This sounds like the final death throes of Treasure Hunter.
Jagex will liquidate TH in the coming future so expect a heavy handed increase in Promotions in the coming months, because I'm suspicious next year they'll talk about its replacement.
Which is why membership costs are so high now, and why they're pushing for these "day specific" treasure hunter promotions.
Hopefully, in the future they'll sell conjure skins for Runecoins, or add them to rare drop tables from specific Seasonal Events.
Like, 1/100 Drop from the Halloween Event or 120 Runecoins if you don't wanna grind or you're an iron man, or ~10M in the G.E.
@@Kranon I always thought hermond should have a better loot table. I know hes a beginner necro boss and all but after you farm plates theres not much else going on for him except a pet or quest item. Some cosmetics added to his drop table would be nice.

Not really unless you're fighting Rasial with a Tank Build.
If you're using a Crit Build (Reaver's Ring/Grim/Biting 4/ Kal'gerion Demon/ Zerk Fury Relic/ Mahjarrat Aura) the Phantom Doesn't really do much, you'll barely notice any difference in the damage you take.
But if you use a Tank Build (Leviathan Ring/ Crystal Shield or Absorbative 4 Perks/ Hellhound / Death Ward Relic / Equilibrium Aura) just to name a few examples, you'll DEFINITELY see a difference in the damage you're taking.

Zuk is all about getting mechanics right and positioning.. Damage reduction helps a bit but its not everything
Whats actually needed at Zuk (especially for handicapped players like me with hundreds of deaths at pizza time) is a death counter that allows a player to use a DTD to get a Zuk cape after a reasonable (not ridiculous like me)amount of paid for deaths. Saving SOME food is useless in my situation at this boss. The ELITE pvm crowd will NEVER stand for it though.

Literally zombie 2.0. Good to put in summon army. Not good for summoning separately or using the command ability. Fairly certain it's not worth a gcd for the command ability in most places.

Right now it is, but we can't really say if it will stay like this once more conjures get released.
Because all these Conjures don't have a rhyme or reason, they pertain to at least 3 Different builds but don't really shine on any of them, as of right now at least.

At least give it an auto attack like other conjures and make that 5% uncapped maybe increase it to 10% and not exclusive to core damage and finally make that command better for single targets

Four summons with a damage dealer phantom isnt op, could it push necro to bis again? Possibly, and then they can add more to the others to buff them in the coming months. Its almost like the game has updates that shift balance for small periods of time which is healthy for the game. This conjure is bad for the game. More wasted content. So we o for on all of the new content since jagex refocused. Looks like there is no way not to get fukt playing this game nowadays
