    Dude! Awesome review, so timely for me! I just blew up my 5m and 7m at the gorge last week and in a panic I bought the v4 CWC 6m and haven't had a chance to use it yet. So stoked to hear it is a hit! I was told that there will be a boom coming out in a week or so, so I held off on the handles hoping to get the boom when it's available. You make the wing look great, love those rodeo jibes! Thanks for another awesome vid!

    Totally agree with your assessment of the Armie wing handles. I replaced my CWC 7M V1?2? with an Armstrong 8M and I LOVE the wing. The overall wingspan is less than my Strike CWC 7M. But the handles are not my favorite and the window is stupid and useless. The weight is a bit more too. But the price on those Armstrong's and the overall visual appeal is super nice. I like the innovation on the Carbon bat tail on that Armstrong too. I am pretty pissed at FOne for my last Strike V3 purchase. I still hate that 5.5 wing and it cost a lot. But I am glad to see that they are making their wings great again. I just wish they never would have put out that previous version.

    Been on this wing every day for one week now. Your review is great. I lam also on the 6m and enjoy it 100%. It’s very stable, great at everything I’ve tried with it. Jibes and tacks are easier than on my duotone alulua 6m. The aparant wind is also great and going way out ioff the shoreline is an added enjoyment with this wing.

      Awesome to hear yr digging it too! I’m stoked on this design, totally something I stand by and recommend. I was really surprised how I could stay up with it when the wind dropped. Combined with that and a good pump foil, I think I could just keep going till I fell. So cool. Thanks bud, I wish you an awesome day!!

    Awesome review as always. Curious- I’ve got v3 7 & 5. The V3s are definitely low on grunt. You think the more accessible grunt on this 6M could replace those two wings for light to moderate? I’d love to trim the quiver especially for traveling.

    Yeah, V4 CWC 6 m ~$2k…too much for a wing…I weigh 150# still use F-one 7m CWC v2..I can chop hop in flat, back wind, jibes, over-head 360, Heineken jibes, race jibes, wing-pass jibes, 360, tack toe/heel, wing pass tacks toe/heel, sit while on foil & jibe, except Flaka (too big) when wind is marginal between 8-20 knots. Love the wing…I don’t have 6m and blew my 5 m so thinking of getting BRM Parawing 6.1 m ($1200) for the 10-22 knots condition & pump the foil , even in flat.
    I converted my 3.5 m Ozone IMP to short lines…to simulate Parawing…I was able to go up wind but not on foil, still waiting for Parawing to arrive!!!

    • @OCEANBOUND1
      @OCEANBOUND1  4 місяці тому +1

      oh sweet bud! yeah the v1/v2 CWCs were awesome... I wish I didn't blow mine out so quick. I blame that mostly on taking it out in multiple sessions pushing the high end and using it for racing. so you got a parawing! good for you. I'm interested in seeing what low ends you can get it up in. I need 15mph minimum with my setup, otherwise the relaunch is really frustrating and I can't get up on foil (using a really big 1350 foil). def use the BIGGEST foil you have to start, you want to get up easy when figuring all that stuff out. I hope it works well bud! it's a fun challenge for sure. I'm gonna keep at it for a while, def getting better at it and things are getting easier. LMK what your first sesh is like! I wish you an awesome day!!!

    Hey bud, its me again! Is it much better this CWC v4 6m than your 7M Ventis?
    Is it much lighter or feels lighter than the Ventis?
    I have the opportunity to grab a 7m Ventis in Pink which I like a lot.
    What about the grunt and feel in comparison?
    I am after a low wind weapon.
    Thank you in advance for your awesome vids! Please keep it up!

    • @OCEANBOUND1
      @OCEANBOUND1  11 днів тому

      sup bud! I swear I commented on this, it must not have gone through. oops!
      comparing a 6m and a 7m is almost like apples and oranges, of course I prefer the 6m. and with the alulla, it's def lighter and great in hand. they old v3 CWC 7m compared to the 7m Ventis was a noticeable difference, the Ventis was much better in almost all aspects. that CWC had waaay too heavy of a trailing edge. the newer CWC is def better. I do prefer the Ventis handles, mostly cause the front handle is longer. so if you can get one on the cheap, you will prolly really dig it. LMK what you get! I wish you an awesome 2025!!

    • @dferrerll
      @dferrerll 11 днів тому

      @OCEANBOUND1 I managed to try a ventis 7m and a cwc 6m with aluula at the same time. I had both on the water thanks to s friend.
      I was not mega amazed about the fact that considering the low wind I think that I did not have an edge on the big wings. When let's say around 10 knots and a 1600 front wing sometimes I was not even able to go on foil.
      The 7m Ventis was really flappy at pumping. I guess it's also a matter of technique.
      With the 6m CWC, well, 1m less so not so catchy in comp to the 7m Ventis. Although I liked the hard handle, its front raised and the fact it's much slimmer.
      All in all I dont think it's that advantageous in comparison to a normal 5.5 or 6m. I have a 5.5m V3 Strike and but that for sure it's not for low winds.
      Thinking that perhaps a unit in 6m will be my best bet. But lightness it's key for me considering I'm used to f-ones.
      I think that the sport is moving towards DW or midlength boards and then go with smaller wings or even the a para wing.
      The FLOW paraglide D-wing in 5.5m for low Winds?
      My low wind search continues and prob I should try a longer board too.

  • @dferrerll
    @dferrerll 25 днів тому +1

    Hwy man. Thank you so much for the video. Im planning to chanfe my v3 5.5 strike and considering wither this one in 6m or the origin 5.5. heard and read the origin has a lot of grunt but will that be equivalent to the CWC in 6m. Or rather go for the origin?

    • @OCEANBOUND1
      @OCEANBOUND1  24 дні тому +1

      sup bud! so I only tried the Origin one sesh, and it was a 4.5m. I tried it back-to-back with a 4.5m v4 Strike, and I preferred the Origin. A year before, I may have preferred the Strike; I feel like my style changed a good deal over that year. That 6m CWC is really nice, and if you can afford it, then it's def the best CWC I've tried. for low end, I assume the CWC will be better. for wave riding, I think the Origin would be better. now that I've tried them all, I may get a v4 Swing this Spring if they go on sale, but I'm totally open to an Origin too. now that I have a dw board and foils I like that have decent lift, I'm looking to have a 4.5m or 5m as my biggest wing (I used to require a 5.5m in the quiver). I really don't think you could go wrong with either choice, but I guess you just need to ask yourself if you need a wing more for lighter winds or if you want it more for surf. good luck, LMK what you get! I wish you an awesome day.

    Thank you for this review and your thoughts about fone previous wings which is spot on ! Cwc v4 is out of range becouse of price. Which 6m low wind wing would you choose? Cabrinha, armstrong, cwc v3 or any other?

    • @OCEANBOUND1
      @OCEANBOUND1  5 місяців тому

      yeah agreed on price. I don't blame them. they made a wing that addressed past issues and the alulla is part of the equation. so I'm glad they are going for quality and better light wind but also performance. BUT wings are getting as expensive as kites and I just can't justify buying expensive wings when in my experience they bag out so quick. luckily, dw boards and big foils stay pretty much the same and don't bag out. so this has totally changed the way I look at a quiver. who knows... my future may be in parawinging. will see.
      as for a 6m... depends on how you ride, weight, and what you wanna ride it in. for light winds only... prolly Cab or Armstrong. Armstrong is great, but the handles are a little weird to me so that's why I don't currently have one in the quiver. if you are a bigger person and want something high performance but not necessarily the best light wind, the CWC would be great, especially of you can get a good deal on it. for light wind I def prefer the v1/v2s.
      I hope this helps, I wish you an awesome weekend wherever you are!

    • @bstr77
      @bstr77 5 місяців тому

      Yeah, after testing fone mid lenght, 78l is on the way 😁, so that is for sure big change in quiver, I hope to ged rid of ss1200 which I keep for lw and cwc v1 7m is already gone as it was so baggy and to big for me. But althoug Im 66kg here on polish inland lakes sub 10knots is normal so probably my origin 5m even with hard handels might not be enough. Armstrong and cabrinha are rather exotic here, mosty fone and duotone, so testing other brands is limited. I have tested cwc v3 but 7m, and I didn like it at all, too big and heavy for me, I could not pump it. I will try 6m but I do not expect miracles. Another option is big pump foil, midlenght and 5m origin, already tried it and it is like bus driving but works 😆 Thanks, and have windy weekend 🤙

    • @OCEANBOUND1
      @OCEANBOUND1  4 місяці тому +1

      sup bud! I own a 7m Ventis, and rode it recently after a 9 month hiatus. I didn't do a back-to-back cause comparing a 6m and 7m of different brands is not really fair IMO. but I'd say I prefer this one because you can feel the difference with the Alulla. if you were getting a full DLab Ventis, I can see that it'd probably feel lighter and better. the Ventis is a good design, different than the v3 and v4 Strikes CWCs. but this v4 CWC is def a good design.

    Awesome review, as always. The price of wings have gotten out of hand. A lot of money for a small performance improvement that's not even necessary . Alula, or however you want to marketing name the laminate materials, is so over priced and over rated. $2k for wings in the experimental phase and will be outdated in 12 months. A lifespan of 3 years if you're lucky. Forgot to mention it's an extra cost for the hard handles, which are in their first experimental version of design. They sell the V4 wings with cheap flimsy handles that everyone hates. I bought the v4, 5m Swing with the optional semi-rigid handles and should have gone directly to their hard handles after talking with other users. I see the hard handles don't have a notch on both sides of the attachment point, like the semi-rigid handles. Can the hard handles fall out when packing up? I predict F-One will change their handle design next version. Make the hard handles a permeant attachment and the front handle longer so you can ride one handed. I accidentally discovered one handed riding toe-side with my Duotone Slick with the boom. The one handed advantage is same as riding waves toe-side while kitesurfing. I hope F-One stick with their basic designs, light and lower cost build strategy.

    • @OCEANBOUND1
      @OCEANBOUND1  5 місяців тому +2

      Sup bud! I totally agree on wing prices. Part of the appeal of the sport in the beginning was the wings were only $800. If they didn’t bag out and lasted longer I could totally justify the cost, but last years were overbuilt, didn’t fly as good and still blew out… mine blew out faster than the previous year… so after a month or two it seemed like all the improvements we were paying extra for was a big waste of $$. So I hope companies start to dial it back a little. He Origin is totally fine to me at this point, it can do everything I want it to do and is the cheapest in the line.
      As far as the hybrid handles in the v4… , they should come standard with those at least. The hard handles are the way. They could be lighter I suppose but the design is really nice to handle and wide with. If the boom is small I could be into that. Super curious.
      I hope all is well bud, I wish you an awesome day!

      well I guess it's a give an take. I personally don't mind the extra weight, especially on the CWC's. but I rode them on a 5m Swing too and I totally prefer them over the regular or hybrids. That's the only wing I tried the different handles on, and I didn't feel a difference in wing performance. My PPC handles feel a lot heavier.
      I just weighed the ones I have here, they are slightly different than what I see on the website:
      regular handles are 65g and 69g = 134g
      hybrids are 139g and 145g = 285g

      @@OCEANBOUND1 The first time I used my XPS 5.3m it was back winding a lot, especially coming out of a jibe (the bottom 1/3 of the sail into my shins). To counter/prevent this I had to slightly cock the wrist of my front hand which resulted in faster forearm fatigue during the session. I think this might have to do with their pre-loading of the wing tips and so the handles were designed with wider, flater grips to allow more counter control..my 2 cents 🧐 The F-ones on the other hand, no pun intended can be ridden for much longer periods before fatigue sets in.
