So I was thinking about doing this as well, however, the biggest problem with this is that that small vacuum has a really small filter, and a small filter reduces CFM. Thus, that shop vac will only be about 120 CFM, compared to a full 15 gallon shop vac that can deliver 160+ CFM.
Thanks for your comment 👍 a larger vacuum might be marginally better, but this setups works really well for my father’s small shop. I have 5hp on my 7gal pail and never had issues with lack of suction
One additional question about this. How often does the bottom vac fill up with the fine dust? How often does your dad have to clean the filter on the shop vac?
Here is my dad’s response to your question: “They claim that the Dust Deputy removes 99% of dust. From what I have seen so far, I tend to believe them. There was hardly anything in my shop vac which hold 4 gallons. Most of the dust came from my planner, so it wasn’t small dust particules. I will have more information once I connect it to my bandsaw and the table saw.”
I have seen 75 videos on dust extraction systems and I think I like this setup the best!
Thanks for you comment. I'm sure my father will be excited to read it! 👍
Really brilliant setup, dude! 😃
Thanks a bunch for sharing!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you! Have a nice day 😁

@@LegacyCraftworks Glad it works for your dad. I really wish this worked for me too. I could have saved so much more space.
