This is a fun little quest, although I would've loved if they added something like Path of Pain from Hollow Knight. Same thing, but extra long and super difficult.
Oh, and I have to say, I really like the Blasphemous version of the song from Bloodstained. I hope they add it to the official soundtrack.

FOR ANYONE UNAWARE, if you hold dash while attacking in the air, you don’t have to point down/diagonally to lantern bounce. This has saved my ass in those Blue Door challenges

It is because they changed the control scheme! You have to hold dash & attack now and down & attack was the old one. It does not even work anymore

There's more cheese/skips. On the very first ladder, climb down to the bottom. Once the first blue fireball comes onscreen, drop and immediately hold right. You reliably land on the platform below (12:00).
As it moves back to the right, there's a tight window when you can walk off the edge, fall through the gap, and land on the platform at the end of this section (12:20). You'll bounce/glitch and die on the spikes unless you jump right when you land... maybe 70% reliable, but it beats wasting 45 seconds in this first section.

Your gameplay is absurd so many risky moves and most of the stage design were useless to you. Truly awesome!
Given the timer, is it even possible to follow the stage design? I'm fully convinced most of the platform in the 3rd to 5th challenges are designed to prevent you from completing it on the first run.

The verdict is that yes, it can be done with all the "proper" pathings without exploiting the knowledge of terrain, and default movement speed (did not use the speed up rosary item because I discovered it late), just that the leniency for errors is mad tight, especially the final trial.

Unfortunately, for Miriam, I don't have enough skill to attack the lanterns and complete the last challenge. Maybe in the future. Until then she'll be stuck in my world.
How in the hell im supposed to attack the lantern to do the xtra move, im right at the 99% of the map complete an im stuck in the third Miriam crystal because dont have a way to reached passed the lantern, what am i missing
@@Pedro-lg9wz hit the down + forward button and use attack. That will do the trick. Also there is a lantern in the place with the boats to practice it. Best of luck, I completed all yesterday. This guy has some cool tricks but I found more playing those challenges for 5 hours hahahah :-)
You can hold dodge instead of down to bounce off the lanterns as well. Either that or remapping the down button helps.

I played it in spanish and as a spanish native speaker i could understand all the words and the vocabulary (and im not even from spain, im from argentina). maybe the translation to english went wrong cause, like i said, they use a very old vocabulary (i think is middle age), and those old words cant be translated literally. And sorry for my horrible grammar haha.

I played the third level over and over again and always failed close to the end. This guy just jumps down to a platform 7:50 ! I guess memorizing wont help itself. Knowing the levels oneself help but then come back and fix for mistakes. This guy here is just a master in this game. Every level so many seconds ahead, ignoring some time consuming level designs is just outstanding.
Lol, they made that cutsene just to show thicc legs.
Other than the part where you first meet Miriam, it doesn't matter where you go on the map since the Miriam level will be the same. For example, for the second challenge, you could go to the Charred Lady area. Not that it helps you get through any easier, but you're not locked to doing a specific area.

Bloodstained is a beautiful game, but oh man, if it were made in pixel art style that would be so damn awesome. Miriam is so beautifully done here.
The Penitent One decided to keep his penitence for later, on this moment tho 0:10 he will just admire her "tattoos".
Her crystal shard infusions does not take away from her beauty. She's an absolute gem....no pun intended
7:38 I actually recommend using the prayer that makes you invincible, as well as the bead/sword heart (it's been a while, so i forgot) that increases prayer duration so you can just freely run towards the entire course without any punishment and slow, giving extra time.

Amazing that I somehow managed to make it through the entire game without knowing about the mechanic of the “double jump” (the bounce you get from hitting objects like the lanterns while jumping).
That was tough to grasp, but oh so satisfying when completed. Plus, the beautiful music helps calm the nerves when you’re on the final challenge and keep getting steps from the finish.
So looking forward to the new game and DLC

So I must of tried this 100 times and I FINALLY got it (and the spell reward) so I will offer my advice. This isn't for those wanting a flawless run I assume, but all I want is to win and get the damn spell reward. Good enough for me:
1) This strategy requires the 'Brilliant Heart of the Dawn' Mea Culpa sword upgrade (From beating Laudes I believe). It BOOSTS the speed after sliding/dodging and is critical for the difficult jumps below so you won't have to bother with hitting the F-ing lamps as much.
2) Rosary: All 3 'Toe' Beads. (for more mobility/speed/jump etc...)
3) Rosary: Pelican Effigy (for healing/getting fervor while on the elevator and to get 1-2 seconds of invulnerability as needed)
4) Rosary: The Young Mason's Wheel (for all around speed increase)
5) Rosary: Piece of Tombstone (for falling recovery)
6) Rosary: Reliquary of the Fervent Heart: (From True Torment Mode, auto fervor regeneration for spamming invulnerability spell)
7) Rosary: Reliquary of the Sorrowful Heart: (From True Torment Mode, allows bile flasks to restore fervor for spamming invulnerability)
NOTE: I did this run on True Torment 'Suffering Heart' Mode, so each hit only takes away one-bead. So my rosary selections are based on this. Based on the information above I used the following strategies below:
@12:29 I followed @Cesar Fragoso advice and just slid on the short platform and then jumped at the edge. No need to hit lamp.
@13:32 I slid on the short platform and immediately jumped. I believe I hit the wall above and then when you fall you can strike the lamp.
@13:46 I just slid and jumped at the edge to jump across. No need to hit the lamp with the setup listed above.
@13:50 I just slide and jumped at the edge to jump across. No need to hit the lamp with the setup listed above.
@14:12 until the end: Just spam invulnerability spell or use pelican flasks to get invulnerability and don't bother with dodging.
While this ISN'T optimal and NOT a flawless run, my goal was just to get the damn new spell and bounce even if I had to crawl to the end with one health remaining.

The game developers probably never finished their maps themselves, they just wanted to test peoples patience.
@@julbombning4204 It's gonna be ALOT of trial and error. Probably the best advice I can give is 'pay careful attention to when and more importantly where you jump from on the platforms ie: before or after the crack on the ground? Do I jump when the moving platform is aligned with a wall or something? etc...' These trials are all about learning the limitations of your dash, dodge, and jump distances. This is why adding the beads above can change these parameters.

Seriouly tho. I'm stuck at the patern jump after you dodge the swinging axe on the moving platform. I've tried for at least 2 hours and still didn't get it once. And that's coming from someone who only needed 1 hour to beat hollow knight's path of pain blind
I eventually passed it but I'm not precisely sure how. I'd suggest a dpad for more accurate inputs
@@A7x_Forever This is 2 months late but you need to press down while striking the lamp so you can get some extra air time while passing the lamps. It works best with the toe thing added on your rosary.
Same sentiment tho, I wish the lamp striking thing was as easy as the ones on "the messenger". This may be easy on the keyboard but it was hell on consoles.

Hardest part is at 12:29 I could not make the lantern hit jump perform consistently and it's perhaps the hardest one in the whole game, at least for me. The most frustrating part is this is where the level really began for me. At the beginning you can jump off the ladder through the gap in front and skip to a later platform and then walk off left to the plat for with the moving ladders, but it's all on a timer, so you're stuck waiting on the latter for like 30-35 seconds for those platforms with the fire balls to activate.
I KNOWWWWWW I KNOW I HATE THAT JUMP AND THE BEGINNING SUCKS SO MUCH YOU'RE LITERALLY WASTING AN ENTIRE MINUTE EVERY TIME YOU RESTART I'M SO FURIOUS
This is an old post but I thought I'd reply in case anyone else needs help. I have never failed that latern hit. The trick is holding the right trigger or the dash button while you hit. It will work 100% of the time. The game tells you to hold down and hit but that almost never works for me. The trigger is the way to go.

The trick is the be holding R2 when you jump and hit square. That will always consistently cause the hit to propel you the right distance.

when you make a dash attack right at the start, you'll most likely get stuck in the door, you can set yourself free by going toward the protal, but if you dont and look to the right without moving, you'll see the penitent have his eyes bleeding as he watch the timer

These are the most mind numbing brain deadening platforming puzzles I think I've ever done. The game doesn't function 7/8 of the time when grabbing a latter or lantern jumping it feels. There is litterly 0 figuring out how to do them just whether or not the game feels like functioning. Great video tho
The lantern jumps are the most bullshit I've ever faced. On library of the negated worlds one rn. The part that fucks me is how there is no down attack animation. It's just the forward attack animation but with a different invisible hitbox. Such bullshit.
the lantern jump have to be timed very well or else you'll fall into those spikey bois
for me it's like that but with climbing and ladders, this wasn't made for joysticks and they should've just made some sort of maybe enemy puzzle like with the guys that require being parried to take damage

Path of Pain feels more fair though, in blasphemous these challenges feel like russian roulette but instead of shooting a gun you're climbing or trying to get on a ladder
Пятое испытание - одно из самых тяжёлых из того, во что я играл вообще. Во многом из-за криво работающих прыжков от фонаря. Потратил на испытание около четырёх часов, это было безумно жёстко. Просто помните, на один фонарь - ОДИН удар, не больше. Бить максимально близко, когда перс мог бы дотянуться до фонаря рукой. В это время камеру направляете ровно туда, куда нужно прыгнуть - влево или вправо. Не по диагонали, не вниз и не вверх. Только влево и вправо. В местах, где фонаря два - нужно бить два раза. Прыжки с платформ на них совершать с самого края - когда перс наполовину уже стоит над обрывом.
The fifth test is one of the hardest I've ever played. Largely due to the crooked jumps from the lantern. Spent about four hours on the test, it was insanely difficult. Just remember, one lantern is ONE hit, no more. Beat as close as possible when the Persian could reach the lantern with his hand. At this time, point the camera exactly where you want to jump - left or right. Not diagonally, not down or up. Left and right only. In places where there are two lanterns, you need to hit twice. Jumping from platforms to them to make the very edge - when the Persian is already half over the cliff.

@@RichieThe13th im at the last crystal trial and that f#$%^ing double lamp jump is proving to be a tough mofo jajajajjaja and when i finally passed it those blasted moving ladders with the fiery blue shi# is giving me a harrrrrrddddddd time, still hunting that 100% achivement is so close¡¡¡¡

6:17 I can't seem to get that pogo off the lantern no matter how hard I try. It happens once every 10 attempts and it's frustrating me to no end. Any tips on how to deal with this?

Finally beat the final Miriam room. Literally took me 3 hours straight to finish the last room. I was tired of not getting it done so i told myself i wouldnt stop until i beat it.
