    You guys really got a fantastic show on your hands ! All the little complains I had for the first episode were addressed : it flows well, it's fun, it's informative. YET, last time, I completely forgot to congratulate you for the extra mile you're going to seek out the actual professionals and get these testimonies or mini interviews. It's really top notch

    This is sooo freakin' cool man. It's so interesting to see how all these props are designed/being used and it's crazy how much of this I never would have noticed or thought about.
    Please keep this series up, it's awesome.

    I was in a play where two characters had to eat a plateful of boiled potatoes; each night we quartered and boiled one potato, and each actor had two quarters of that one potato -- the rest of the "potatoes" were Styrofoam.

    The food scene in Hook must have been a nightmare.

    • @GraemeGunn
      @GraemeGunn 3 місяці тому

      probably not, it wasn't depicted as food, it was just coloured gloop stuff
      most likely the food you see initially was just real food - the cast and crew could have eaten it after the take

    I’ve been able to meet two LotR hobbit actors at conventions, and I asked both what the prop lembas tasted like (and, jokingly, if they could get me the recipe). Dominic Monaghan said they were lovely and tasted like cheese, Sean Astin said they were awful and I was welcome to keep as many as I wanted to make! 😂

    My favorite food prop story is from one of the last episodes of "The Good Place". You see in the first episode of the entire series, they needed someone to use in a framed photo so they got someone who was a writer, not an actor. In later episodes, he was played by an older actor but they decided to do one last scene with the original guy. But he wasn't an actor so no one told him about the spit bucket thing. He had to basically gorge himself on fried chicken take after take until he got sick. They tell it better on the podcast. 😂

    In the past couple of years I have started watching for continuity issues, especially in eating scenes. I caught one in an episode of Downton Abbey when Shirley MacLaine was featured. They were meant to be eating offal and so it was small nibbles on the plates. As the camera panned around the conversation going on in the foreground, they caught Shirley in the background putting a fork just insideher mouth, close her lips around it briefly, then put the fork, with the food still on it, back in the same position where she started. Like.....she did the reset for her own plate.
    I'm always interested in the prop stories. Burning candles is another one that gets tricky, along with any smoking materials.
    Thanks guys! Very educational, interesting, and fun! 😊

    These are so fun, thanks for the insight! Reminds me of when my buddy made his Ultra-Gross Vampire costume. He made pustules on his arms with used dryer sheets, liquid latex, , makeup, and vanilla pudding. If you layer the latex on your arm and bunch up the dryer sheet you can make a little pouch that you cut into after it dries. You can then fill it with stuff like pudding which REALLY grosses people out when you eat it XD
