Great content Basil such an informative video. I wish Oppo would release the X7 series in the UK having missed out on the X6 series last year. I'm pretty certain that the ongoing legal battle with Nokia has something to do with the non availability. Could do with another choice of phone other than the usual suspects ie Samsung Google and Apple!
I think it is a joke they wouldn't do X6 in global, as other series were globally released, like the Reno series and N2-N3. X7 now also, just seems like BBK doesn't like people who aren't in china at this point. My Find X2 Pro is still an amazing phone, but skipped X5 for the X6 to be disappointed. Vivo won't honor warranty on brand new phones I found out last year when I purchased X90 pro. Honor Magic 6 pro will be my next phone
Don't waste your time. The Vivo shoots like a smartphone with unnatural colors and tons of processing - photos look good but they are artificial. This one shoots more like a real camera - especially with the primary sensor. Video is miles better on the Oppo too (closest thing to iPhone video I've seen). Selfies are miles better too. More versatile zoom, etc.

That said, I take more photos and rarely any videos so my main interest lies there . I watched Ben's Gadgets comparison of these and there were a couple of shots where the VIVO had me swayed. You're right overall though...this oppo is a beast.
It's great. Negatives are no android auto, apparently doesn't connect to all smart watches and nova launcher doesn't work. I personally don't use any of these so it doesn't matter to me. There is some Chinese bloatware apps and stuff but you can disable/delete most of it.
Does this work with android auto and if not is it possible to put it in? Also do you think the Xiaomi 14 ultra is more likely to have AA? I need to upgrade my dying phone and i really dont want to be giving samsung over a grand for a lesser phone compared to these.

will you test the normal find x7 too? im really intressed in the performce density 9300 can do compair to the snapdragon how is the battery life, and is the wireless charging working on a Tesla charging pad cause the iphone 15 pro max cant due to the camera staying out to much.
i watched other videos comparing these twos and in most cases the oppo 7x ultra generates better and more natural and more textured (for portraits) photos with main and 3x lense, additional it is more versatile because of having 3x and 6x instead of only one 4.5x

You can install the Play Store, and all Google apps work, the main limitations are Android Auto and adding a card to Google Pay/Wallet. Though I've had success with Google wallet in the past with OPPO phones, so this might be unlocked in a future software update.
I've got a Oppo X6 Find Pro, Is there much difference between them do you think with the camera?? Also how does it compare to the S24 Ultra?? The Oppo x6 pro is better than S24 ultra in any way for all cameras, the only little bit downside that in ultrawide angle photos the Oppo seems to be little bit less sparp on the outer edges. but you see it only in 100% crop. I ordered S24u but I think I will cancel it to order the Oppo x6 pro or even x7 ultra because I love photography and want most natural photos. The samsung oversharpens everything too much in my opinion.
All the cameras can record 4K 60, however, you're locked to the camera you start shooting with. The main camera is the only one that can record 4K 60 in 10-bit Dolby Vision.
Hi Lee - yes, all Android apps will work, though compatibility with certain features may not - Android Auto doesn't pair, and Chinese phones don't work with some or all WearOS devices. That said, I have added a Google Wallet card since the latest updated, and am on EE, so if you're not an Samsung or Google watch owner, and don't use Android Auto, all other major services should work great.

@@rebelK8241 but Xiaomi secondary cameras all have smaller sensors and based on my time with the 14 and 13 series, photo processing is clumsier with contrast and saturation. I'd wait for reviewers to do comparisons before you make your mind up. My Xiaomi 14 clips in photos a lot more than I'd like because of Leica's more traditional processing. Like it, but prefer Oppo processing. Video may be more of a Xiaomi win, I don't know as haven't done much filming with the 14 Ultra.
You are fully correct. But Look at my video how well dynamic range is controlled. Video is different to shoot stills. You need to correct yourself any light. If i have to choose i choose log mode over sensors. I can correct even the crappy tele on the x3 pro quite well with log

@@sagovana There's literally a "compatibility assistant" for every single phone on tradingshenzhen where you can check the band compatibility. The Find X7 Ultra does have the B20 band, unlike many other China-exclusive phones, so there should be no problem with reception.
Maps yes, android auto works only on roms in which it is pre-installed. That rules out all China roms. Will only work if you buy a version that is meant for the international market

Chinese flagships are usually very well equipped to work globally. You will struggle more with midrange and budget devices. I can paste the compatible bands in here if you need them.

Dang Oppo didn't put variable aperture in the find x7 ultra? And no google pay? That's almost a dealbreaker. But I've been wanting a chinese phone for a while. Sick of samsung.
- sensors blocked on third party apps, yes you pay full price for a phone but they lock the cameras to be used only on stock camera - Multi frame noise reducion is broken making stationary objects move on the shot (looks horrible) - face detection can not be turned off, making exposure go up every time it detecs a face is ridiculous - no manual option for video mode - live HDR/DOL-HDR video does not exist even though it is advertised as a feature inside the phone they call it "ai highlight" button it dosent exist - front camera also has impossible to turn off face detection an it look even worse, raising exposure a LOOOOT when it detects a face - no camerax api support - exposure compensation in video is broken, it locks exposure instead of compensation, oppo does not know the diference betwen compensation ans locking - videos are oversharppened and overexposed always, always. - P010 hardware aceleration codec is not enabled - and a lot more Oppo software is a mess they need to throw out the stupid selfie taking robots and hire a true movie maker to teach then how cameras work for real.
Is it than bad? You're kinda ruining it for me. Is Vivo that bad too on a software side? They say there's a 'natural' preset instead of default vivid one. Can beautify mode be turned off? Damn.
@@3phop960 yep, that is just things I got out of my head for the comment, not even going too deep on professional video stuff like having only 64 point curves for custom curves and the priorities are all messed up cant get more than 100 mbps bitrate out of this thing which should do a lot more for a gen2. I do not take much pictures, but I record a lot of video, and damn.....whoever is in charge of programming the camera on this thing is drunk everyday. many things could be fixed with root / custom room, but hey, oppo sells you the phone and it is not your property to unlock/root it, they will do whatever they can to make sure you do not do that. But hey, regular users that know nothing you say it is amazing.
It is not about hardware, the post processing of the photographs is much more important, the faces look like porcelain dolls and it softens the textures to reduce noise. Google, Apple, even Huawei (although this one less so), have better processing and their photographs are much superior, if you use the full resolution of their sensors, and they do not need as much hardware, nor one-inch sensors, and let's not talk about selfies, that at Oppo they are terrible, it destroys faces with the processing, just because the Chinese like them that way... IT IS NOT ABOUT HARDWARE, IT IS ABOUT SOFTWARE...
Is that possible that you would do a video comparison between Oppo Find x6 Pro and x7 Ultra? Just interesting how new sensor performing on a similar software. Also it seems that master mode is much better than pro mode and there is not a big chance that older models would receive an update, unfortunately
i have the pixel 7 pro and im ready to move on. Storage limits, crap battery charging speed and awful screen brightness is why. I like the look of this Oppo x7 ultra!
My first non flagship phone was Oppo Find 7 pro in 2015..Amazed by the build quality and specs having transitioned from an iPhone. Currently using a Huawei P30 pro looking to upgrade and this Find X7 ultra looks legit! I was sold by that privacy button! Never seen it before on a phone

Is the Raw-saving-capability only available for the main lense or for all lenses? And if yes, do the 50mp raw files contain more details? and if yes, only for main cam or for all lenses? Because on another webpage (not oppo but another chinese phone) they said the 50mp files are only interpolated 12mp files without any benefits. Thanks for the comment and kind words. I did try adding a bank card as have had success in the past, but no joy. Though that may be down to my specific bank or the fact it may not be on general release yet, so software might not be final/meet the security criteria of Google Wallet. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra's a great device. Unfortunately I don't like MIUI or HyperOS as it's now known as. Damn good shout though!

As he said in video, no, you cannot. Only Main camera can record at 4k60FPs. Rest can only 4k30, and then you can switch between cameras

No, though most log video on phones is auto video with contrast lowered. It isn't true log usually - fun fact. But it is strange OPPO removed it.

- live HDR/DOL-HDR video does not exist even though it is advertised as a feature inside the phone they call it "ai highlight" button it dosent exist
- front camera also has impossible to turn off face detection an it look even worse, raising exposure a LOOOOT when it detects a face
- no camerax api support
- exposure compensation in video is broken, it locks exposure instead of compensation, oppo does not know the diference betwen compensation ans locking
- videos are oversharppened and overexposed always, always.
- P010 hardware aceleration codec is not enabled

Oppo software is a mess they need to throw out the stupid selfie taking robots and hire a true movie maker to teach then how cameras work for real.
Is it than bad? You're kinda ruining it for me. Is Vivo that bad too on a software side? They say there's a 'natural' preset instead of default vivid one. Can beautify mode be turned off? Damn.
@@3phop960 yep, that is just things I got out of my head for the comment, not even going too deep on professional video stuff like having only 64 point curves for custom curves and the priorities are all messed up cant get more than 100 mbps bitrate out of this thing which should do a lot more for a gen2. I do not take much pictures, but I record a lot of video, and damn.....whoever is in charge of programming the camera on this thing is drunk everyday. many things could be fixed with root / custom room, but hey, oppo sells you the phone and it is not your property to unlock/root it, they will do whatever they can to make sure you do not do that. But hey, regular users that know nothing you say it is amazing.

It is not about hardware, the post processing of the photographs is much more important, the faces look like porcelain dolls and it softens the textures to reduce noise. Google, Apple, even Huawei (although this one less so), have better processing and their photographs are much superior, if you use the full resolution of their sensors, and they do not need as much hardware, nor one-inch sensors, and let's not talk about selfies, that at Oppo they are terrible, it destroys faces with the processing, just because the Chinese like them that way... IT IS NOT ABOUT HARDWARE, IT IS ABOUT SOFTWARE...
Is that possible that you would do a video comparison between Oppo Find x6 Pro and x7 Ultra?
Just interesting how new sensor performing on a similar software. Also it seems that master mode is much better than pro mode and there is not a big chance that older models would receive an update, unfortunately

My first non flagship phone was Oppo Find 7 pro in 2015..Amazed by the build quality and specs having transitioned from an iPhone. Currently using a Huawei P30 pro looking to upgrade and this Find X7 ultra looks legit! I was sold by that privacy button! Never seen it before on a phone
p30 pro is such a great phone! Was absolutley flawless for me for the 5 years I owned it. On the pixel now but im not overly impressed with it

Is the Raw-saving-capability only available for the main lense or for all lenses? And if yes, do the 50mp raw files contain more details? and if yes, only for main cam or for all lenses? Because on another webpage (not oppo but another chinese phone) they said the 50mp files are only interpolated 12mp files without any benefits. So I really love to get an answer to my questions :) thank you very much!
Bit late maybe but yeah, it does support raw in all the lenses, and 50mp raw are really really good, although around 100mb per picture in size.

For those waiting for a Vivo comparison, don't waste your time. The Vivo X100 Pro shoots like a smartphone with oversaturated colors and tons of processing - photos look good but they are artificial. This one shoots more like a real camera - especially with the primary sensor. Video is miles better on the Oppo too (closest thing to iPhone video I've seen). Selfies are miles better too. More versatile zoom, etc.

Thanks for the comment and kind words. I did try adding a bank card as have had success in the past, but no joy. Though that may be down to my specific bank or the fact it may not be on general release yet, so software might not be final/meet the security criteria of Google Wallet. I will be comparing it to the Vivo X100 Pro after my review of that goes live in the coming days. Basil
