Oppo is not sold by branded retailers or service providers in Canada. Consequently when my phone died in Europe in 2020 I had to get a new phone. I didn't give too much thought to the fact Oppo wasn't in my home market. I returned home and realized I wasn't getting updates, so used my VPN to the country-area I purchased the phone and update issues were a thing of the past. I now find that as much as I love my Oppo Find X3 Neo which works perfectly well... it's no longer supported by any updates. Consequently I keep looking at this phone as a replacement, part of me just want to go for it! and the conservative part of me says "is it necessary"? Mostly I think it's the camera which for me is most used and a big draw. Your review just helps to tip the sooner than later aspect because I'd rather have a any new phone sooner than later after launch to benefit for the full manufacturer/android update schedule period.

@@TechNick indeed. Both seem awesome. Price depends on offers. Sometimes there are very good offers when the phone comes new on a market. The magic5 pro was 1200 Euro in Germany. With a contract it was less then 900 Euro. Not so sure if it was with a tablet on top. But a very good deal. And if Oppo will be available on Germany, no idea. So the comparing of the magic6 pro with (one of) the best phones on the market would be very informative!
Can you record 1080 at 30fps video portrait mode night ( just after sunset) and day Don't know if shooting at 60 FPS will degrade from 30fps as 60fps uses more CPU power. All cameras by the way, you can choose if 30fps is the one to work with or 60. If there's no difference just do 60
Chinese companies are getting really far ahead with camera tech. This phone is also absolutely gorgeous. Shame it won't get a western release. Just wish they had Samsung or Google pixel software running it all.
Nick. You nailed it! ✔️ Using the same locations and shots day and night was genius. It made it easy to see the capabilities of the camera in a tangible way. I was surprised to see the screws on the clock show up so well. I can see the loss of periscopes stability at 6 times due to the magnet they removed too. That periscope only has one magnet instead of two. Almost purchase the z60 Ultra today and was intending to buy it tomorrow but now I'm reconsidering yet again. I'm never going to be able to choose a phone at this rate. 😂

I don't take selfies or have a wireless charger so it has no downside for me. Just want a great camera & specs for the next 7 years. 😊

From what I can see, the ZTE is a great phone if you don’t care much for selfies but if you want it to last as long as your LG I think OPPO or OnePlus would be the better choice in terms of software support… components in ZTE devices are also known to not last quite as long. A few things to consider I guess. Ahh, I miss the old heavy hitting LG phones! I loved my G3 and G5 back in the day!
@@pixelgaming7261the LG G6 lasted 4 days when I first got it, but now lasts 12 to 16 hours depending on what I do with it. The lag from only having 4 gig of ram is the main frustration with it. I don't expect a modern phone to get that kind of a lifespan. LG made exceptionally good quality phones. I am still Torn Between the oppo find x7 ultra and the Nubia z60 Ultra. The Samsung s24 ultra is an easy win but not at the price they're asking! 😢
Just an advice: when testing zoom, for example in this case, at longer zoom ranges, try shooting something that is in it self more detailed, some clock is in my opinion too simple and doesn't have much detail. Overall, great video, keep it up!

Well, because of the troublesome US sanction and strict regulation on global market makes these companies just play safe on local market and only sell low or midtear phone on global market to avoid compete with western company like Apple or SK Samsung. I'm from a country from SEA region I have no problem buy and use these top tear Chinese phone here right now I'm using the Oppo Find X7 Ultra 16/512GB variant.

Oppo should have gone for a 5400-5500 mah battery because it is only *slightly* heavy, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra weighed 227 grams for a slightly smaller phone! The S24 Ultra weighs 233 grams! The Oneplus 12 weighs 220 g and the Vivo X100 Pro weighs 221-225 g. So basically, they could've crammed in a bigger battery because this is a camera phone MADE for taking pictures and going all day everyday. Hope they fix it next year and do something about the thickness, like without making it thicker that is. Their updates have been killer each time! They were SOO bad without the updates like I saw some initial Find X7 Ultra sample and thought they were some 500 dollar phone's cameras. Completely mid, it's clear that Oppo rushed this out, they're going to bring HyperTone to other phones in March iirc so by then the Find X7 Ultra would've been perfected and I'd love a camera comparison then! The cameras MAY seem worse than the Find X6 Pro but that's because the Find X6 Pro had the same sensors for the UW and telephoto lens that the Find X5 Pro had for the main lens, Oppo knew that lens intimately and were able to optimize thoroughly. Except for the telephoto lens all the other lens are new, so insane amounts of optimisation is needed! Wish they went with the LYT-600 for the second telephoto as well, wasn't particularly impressed with Xiaomi's one but then again this IS Oppo we're talking about, their processing is cooler
the curve screen is a let down. after samsung curve screen fiasco, replacing them will cost arm and leg. better find flat screen because you will never carry your phone unprotected. curve screen will make it hard to protect them in the casing. not to mention the expensive curve glass.
Only Chinese ROM. No global release. If I can't buy it here locally and with warranty then its just a waste of time. Better stick with Apple and Samsung.

I think you are running older software as 4k 60fps switching between all lenses is possible. I tried it today. Having the January Updates installed

The 4500 nits claim is only achievable in a very specific scenario. In most situations they are very close in brightness
I recently bought Samsung S24 Ultra and I'm very dissappointed. Oppo looks like a much better!
