I've already made some of the next episodes. They were so much more advanced that I needed to make this video just to get started. But after this...we're getting into the weeds. And not the good kind either.
As a scout-main with an attention span of a manatee, if I get swarmed while digging some insanely hidden gold vein, I'll quickly zip away to kite and kill... But then, as I know myself already, Ill just find the next vein, because searching for that gold I was just on after having spun 4269° and moved through the vast caves a handful of times... is just wasted time, impossible to find again, unless I randomly stumble upon it. The first thing I thought about the waypoint tip in the video was "if only it was just for me". And now I read your comment, and... Yeah. I love you.
The compass is a must in Escort missions if you want to pre-dig into the next cave as Driller, because the Heartstone is ALWAYS in South-West direction. EVERY cave is in the same direction. If you didn't knew that, now you do. Also, the number of downs in the Medbay is just false and inaccurate.
You don't need the compass for this. Doretta always lands facing the general direction of the heartstone. You can just drill in the direction caged-Doretta is facing. You can also see Doretta's direction on the map.
I recently came back to DRG. I never did a deep dive in my 60ish hours of play. I am slowly working my way though your great videos. Only semi stressing thing ATM for me is how many videos think we all have 50 overstocks. I think I have 5. :D
I also remember playing back then when almost no of the weapons had proper animations and still placeholder models, honestly my favorite part of an update was always checking if reloads had been updated, the thing about the kill trackers is that, when the bestiary came out it did not count any kills you have made before it came out.
@@TheLegendOfFLG Yes! Back then i thought its gonna stay mining and theyll just update the game by polishing everything and adding all the spacerig rooms which were closed off like the shooting range, but it becamse something so much more bigger, the devs are so good
Thanks for the tips. ROCK AND STONE! I just have a question on waypoints. Aren't they personal only? I remember that I can't see my teammates' waypoints. I only see my own.
Wow nice question!✌ I always assumed they were groups. Would be better if it's not because then I can't mess up someone else's way point. Imma have to ask my homies tonight if they can see my waypoint unless anyone else can comment and let me know...
Yup! Its totally pointless unless you are using voip. I actually think it would be so much better if you could label them with an icon or something. Does anyone actually use waypoints in drg?
@@literatemax well your smarter then me lol I've only used it for bunkers and I stopped a while ago for some reason🙃 Greybeard approved, Rock and Stone Brother!
@@TheLegendOfFLG I use the waypoints when passing something i dont want to loose track of or forget while running around with a swarm on my tail. And when i see ores high up as a driller it is especially useful to not loose track while drilling a path inside the walls to get to it.
@@TheLegendOfFLG They are personal only. It's handy for things that you may need to get through a wall (high up Nitra for example). The ping times out but the waypoint will always stay. It can also be useful for something like if you need to dig op through some terrain to get something, but there's a gap in between. Ping the goal and then waypoint the gap so when you're digging you know where you're going, and where to avoid as well.
I've found that having a high fov has made me a better aimer in every fps game. I find it way easier to hit my targets than when I have a low fov. It's just that it's hard to see targets
Waypoint is only visible to the player that placed it. Thought this was strange when I discovered this. Usually I just flag a piece of sugar in a big room so I can go get it if I'm in trouble.
Nice video. Had no idea about the dynamic UI, definetly gonna check that out. Also didn´t know about the waypoint system. And i´ve been playing for quite a bit. So thank you. Rock and Stone!
What a weird video. It's everywhere except on topic. You start with saying the tut is bad, then explain that being mindful about your path back is a good move and then immediately jump to a tip about fov. O_o Then you tell everyone to basically remove some of the features that give you extra information at a glance and help you coordinate with your team, just to point out the waypoint tool that helps to highlight stuff to coordinate with your team. And then you talk about stats. Now, how exactly is this about "pro settings"? On the positive, your voice is nice to listen to, you present most points without to much fluff and it's always great to see someone making content on DRG as it's just a great, great game. Keep it up, consider me confused but I bet your next videos will kick butt.
🤣✌haha I love this comment more than I should lol it's how all constructive criticism should be. Thanks for the kind words and believing that I'm capable of more👍 I did mention "as always with some bonus tips" in the video because I do drop 1 here or there but I see your point. The settings are what I and others use to clean up the screen but still able to see everything we need at the press to a button. It's literally referred to as dynamic settings by deep rock. So I am not following how that's not on the topic of advanced settings. but I respect your opinion and enjoyed your comment 👍 At the end of the day if that was your impression than it's my job to do better, be clearer, and more concise. I will absolutely take that to heart friend. Rock & Stone!!!
I would definitely take advantage of the ability to remove things from your UI or at least make it smaller. You don't need a picture of your characters face, the compass if you aren't using it, the weapon icons that pop up when switching, flare icons, flashlight, etc. It makes a difference in a noisy in environment. Really just tweaking it little by little to your preference is the best way to go.

About the compass: I use it when in a group with friends very often via Voice-Chat Provided we are close together, that is (because if something is in the middle of the room and to my east, for someone behind it it's to his/her west). I sometimes find it hard to see a ping, I don't know why. Probably the same problem why you sometimes don't see Molly when she's right next to you. ;) ROCK! AND! STONE! o7
