However, Floor still gathers souls by her grace, beauty and the sheer power of her vocals. They look so happy because this concert is the culmination of them almost cancelling a US tour because they parted with their former singer, taking a chance and calling in Floor to help finish the tour, and then about 10 months later this massive concert when they knew they had found their perfect singer, and asked her to be their permanent vocalist. I am certain that is why they all look so happy, and so relaxed. They have achieved what they always searched for.

She is wearing the pants in the first half, does wardrobe change during Last of the Wilds, the only song she doesn’t sing in, then after she has the Valkyrie leather skirt. So looking at Storytime, it is earlier in the show! Ghost Love Score was 3rd to last, then Song of myself, which is amazing pulling those off back to back! But back to your point, I think you are entirely correct!
Can we, finally and officially agree that Nightwish is THE BEST BAND OF THE WORLD. Whether you like the music or not but there's no doubt about the quality of their music and performance. Each memeber of the band is absolutely one of the best musicians worldwide, Tuomas is an astoundingly talented songwriter, composer and coriographer and Floor is just Floor - goddess of voice.
What is behind their smiles is the relief after a stressful period marked by the aftermath of Tarja's departure in 2005 (Tuomas wrote the poet and the pendulum about that period with dark thoughts), circumstances of that event and the search for a replacement that could handle the songs. For Floor, this concert was coming after a burnout period after loosing her band, when she was very depressed and lost, not knowing what and how to do regarding music . So for all, this concert was the freedom after years of darkness. This is why it is so great as she was with them for a couple of months. You can see this release through out the concert with the smiles, Floor's stage presence and happines, the behaviour very clear of Emppu that was walking on the stage touching everybody and the headbanging and Marko who plays the bass relaxed, Jukka's energy on the drums and the eyes of Toumas, all stating practically "we can keep going on and do what we like as best as we can, writting and playing live music at the highest standard and it was all worth it".

She trained it by bicycling in Dutch weather: Wind, rain, WInd, rain, Wind, more rain, Wind and more Wind. Yep, I saw Nightwish (with Kamelot!) in October of 2012. A week later, Anette was out and Floor was in as a temporary member or whatever they called her back then.
It was the first time in Europe at a major event. Floor and the band had some time to play and fine tune the songs to her voice, but almost none in the crowd had heard her do the songs before. (this was before massive youtube uploads of phone videos). I think that surprise when expecting merely a great concert and then getting this, is one reason for the atmosphere in this concert. Sadly those surprises are a thing of the past.
Nightwish never disappoints you. They are super musicians, instrumental and the great voices. And they always tell you a little story 🌟 ⭐ FLOOR JANSEN is a Coach and sings any style or genre. She is a soprano, with a range of more than three octaves (D3 to F6). Her singing style varies from opera to screaming and grunting. I love this reaction. I can't get over how happy you were watching it, but then again, I totally understand, because that's me too. I love this song. You're so right that the band feels so happy in this song and you can see it, but like you also said, it's the whole concert that they are like this. Also, I am like this any time I listen to Nightwish. Love them so much. I have to admit, I had a laugh too during the build up when you said you weren't ready, because I knew what was coming lol. That part of this song, how she lets loose with that fast melodic head voice. It's almost like a chant or something. Angelic. Then she rolls it right into that beautiful chorus. It gets me every time. Every time. The bass riff is pretty sick too. They're all amazing. Also yes, she has that windmill down. I don't think I have ever seen a better one. When I watched Ghost Love Score the first time, I was so pleasantly surprised to see this song, because I wouldn't have thought she had that in her, too. Hi! I agree you, hearing or seeing Nightwish is like comming home! 😉 I also did think that. Metal music has so many different styles, from classic rock to really hard heavy metal, like death-, black- or gothic matal as example. Now you've find a style what you like, and what i love, symphonic metal! I love this song and Floor, she sings it so great and beautiful! The whole conzert! It's like she's made for the band! Tuomas, the keyboarder and mastermind of NW, once sayed about Floor "now she's at home!" For this short time she's with NW she did such a great job! The thing is, there are so many genres and even more subgenres in metal that when you say you're not into metal music you most likely just haven't heard the right one. For me it was Nightwish back in the late 90's that opened the door to metal. Then there was Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Amorphis...
They all are my heroes. You're right about the drummer, he's a beast. Jukka, who sadly had to stop touring because of his longtime chronic insomnia. He's still working with the band in the background. He's been described as a human metronome. It's just so mind-blowing, how one band has all of these superstar performers together, yet no one is trying to steal the show. Guitar solos are just enough and not too much, Marko sings when he's needed for harmonies although he's the main singer of another band. They do it for the love of art. And when you recognise that in performers, it makes you fall in love too.

Hi Sofie. Wow!! A smile from beginning to end.... I absolutely love to see people get so happy and pulled in by this band. Your smiles just made my day. Floor is indeed a rare and very special individual. She develops an immediate relationship to the song and lyrics by creating the story from the narrator's perspective and telling it to the crowd. She doesn't just tell the story, she acts it out. She also has "musical theater" knowledge under her belt which has always been essential to her arsenal which she believes is extremely important when telling a story. She assumes the role of either the storyteller or a character in the story. Either way, it's magical and it all goes without saying that her ability to use her voice as she feels it is needed in the story is incredibly perfect! I have a special request... It's a slower song, more like a ballad. I would like you to hear Floor's softer side, it's a slow 4-4 and it stays that way. Nice that you noticed how happy they all look. I love this video anyway, but even more for that. After all the struggle band had earlier, you really can see pure joy here, how well everything turned out to be. This is my all time favourite for the reason, that I think this gig (in general) sealed the decision, that Floor is the one for the band.

Queen,Pink Floyd, Nightwish(not complete ofc)- all Bands with really professional passioned musicians,like said in other places, they can sing the telephone book of neversomewherevillage- backwards or diagonal. as long as Tuomen does the setup,and nightwish play it, i will be mezmerized. oh, and dont worry, my wife, also an valkyria for herself, is also in love with her. we men only can stand aside and hope, our ladies dont pack their cases and travel to sweden:D
This was towards the end of this tour. She had sung with them for several months by the time this Wacken show happened. She still was technically a substitute singer at this point though. They made her permanent after the tour was over.
Wacken was very close to exactly 10 months since Floor had joined. She and the band had come a long way together and had formed a nice little musical family.

I think I've probably watched every NW live performance out there. This is my favorite one. Storytime, Wacken 2013, this is where my soul rests forever now. The music itself, the smiles from the whole band, the audience having the time of their life, it's picture perfect. And the improv finale by Floor (it's not part of the written song!)
Remember, ALL of those people bought tickets well in advance, and were expecting a different singer. It appears that they were more than pleasantly surprised!
She had been with them for 10 months by this point. For many of the 82,000 attendees, this was their first time hearing her. She really is the perfect fit for them. As Tuomas has said, If Floor ever leaves, there is no more Nightwish. Tuomas's music is very complex, even more so on their most recent albums. Symphonic Metal has so many wonderful vocalists, of which Floor is the epitome. Also check out music by Epica, Within Temptation, Ayeron, and Amaranthe.

Metal music has so many different styles, from classic rock to really hard heavy metal, like death-, black- or gothic matal as example. Now you've find a style what you like, and what i love, symphonic metal! I love this song and Floor, she sings it so great and beautiful! The whole conzert! It's like she's made for the band! Tuomas, the keyboarder and mastermind of NW, once sayed about Floor "now she's at home!" For this short time she's with NW she did such a great job! Like you sayed, nobody would think this songs are not written for her.
I hope we see some new NW reactions from you because i like your NW reactions! Maybe a little harder one next? Than "Song of myself" or "Romanticide". Or the show opener "Dark chest of wonders", all from the same show in Wacken '13. I like all 3 songs very much and i think you would like them too! You also could do "Nemo" or "I wish i had an angel" from that show next, they are not so heavy.

The thing is, there are so many genres and even more subgenres in metal that when you say you're not into metal music you most likely just haven't heard the right one.
For me it was Nightwish back in the late 90's that opened the door to metal. Then there was Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Amorphis...

They all are my heroes. You're right about the drummer, he's a beast. Jukka, who sadly had to stop touring because of his longtime chronic insomnia. He's still working with the band in the background. He's been described as a human metronome.
It's just so mind-blowing, how one band has all of these superstar performers together, yet no one is trying to steal the show. Guitar solos are just enough and not too much, Marko sings when he's needed for harmonies although he's the main singer of another band. They do it for the love of art. And when you recognise that in performers, it makes you fall in love too.

I absolutely love to see people get so happy and pulled in by this band. Your smiles just made my day.
Floor is indeed a rare and very special individual.
She develops an immediate relationship to the song and lyrics by creating the story from the narrator's perspective and telling it to the crowd. She doesn't just tell the story, she acts it out.
She also has "musical theater" knowledge under her belt which has always been essential to her arsenal which she believes is extremely important when telling a story.
She assumes the role of either the storyteller or a character in the story. Either way, it's magical and it all goes without saying that her ability to use her voice as she feels it is needed in the story is incredibly perfect!

Nice that you noticed how happy they all look. I love this video anyway, but even more for that. After all the struggle band had earlier, you really can see pure joy here, how well everything turned out to be. This is my all time favourite for the reason, that I think this gig (in general) sealed the decision, that Floor is the one for the band.

Queen,Pink Floyd, Nightwish(not complete ofc)- all Bands with really professional passioned musicians,like said in other places, they can sing the telephone book of neversomewherevillage- backwards or diagonal. as long as Tuomen does the setup,and nightwish play it, i will be mezmerized. oh, and dont worry, my wife, also an valkyria for herself, is also in love with her. we men only can stand aside and hope, our ladies dont pack their cases and travel to sweden:D

This was towards the end of this tour. She had sung with them for several months by the time this Wacken show happened. She still was technically a substitute singer at this point though. They made her permanent after the tour was over.
Floor is bigger than life! She stands over 6ft tall and is the most powerful vocalist I've ever heard.

Wacken was very close to exactly 10 months since Floor had joined. She and the band had come a long way together and had formed a nice little musical family.

The metal community is basically one big dysfunctional family yet we get together and help each other when it counts most of the time.
I think I've probably watched every NW live performance out there. This is my favorite one. Storytime, Wacken 2013, this is where my soul rests forever now. The music itself, the smiles from the whole band, the audience having the time of their life, it's picture perfect. And the improv finale by Floor (it's not part of the written song!)
Remember, ALL of those people bought tickets well in advance, and were expecting a different singer. It appears that they were more than pleasantly surprised!
She had been with them for 10 months by this point. For many of the 82,000 attendees, this was their first time hearing her. She really is the perfect fit for them. As Tuomas has said, If Floor ever leaves, there is no more Nightwish. Tuomas's music is very complex, even more so on their most recent albums.
