@@galadballcrusher8182 Yes indeed. With much of what’s been going on recently, many of us have become more leery of religion and the uses to which it’s historically been - and currently is being - employed than we are about so-called blasphemy. Because even the holiest of persons and institutions are never totally immune from being touched by the Darkness. And spirituality and holiness’s were never absolutely dependent on also being religious.

Floor had been with Nightwish a few months. She had to learn the set list in 48-hours when she filled in for Anette during the middle of their US-tour. But this was her first big festival. She became a full member of Nightwish a month after this show. To headline Wacken Open Air is a dream for every metal band. Emppus smile (he smiled slot during these days) was because he couldn't believe how great they sounded. Anette, their previous singer, was not a very good presence live. Floor has Freddie Mercury level stage presence.

Emppu’s smile. This is a band that went through huge turmoil with 2 different singers within 7 years. Their very existence was in question when Floor flew to the US to help them finish, read salvage, their North American tour. She stayed on with the band back to Europe, down to South America, Eastern Europe, Australia. Her chemistry she developed with the band over that time, and the relief of the band that they had found their ultimate front woman - that is all reflected in Emppu’s smile!

Regarding the "horns": It is believed that this gesture was popularized by legendary hard rock/metal singer Ronnie James Dio when he sang in Black Sabbath. He saw this gesture from his grandmother, who used it to protect against the evil eye. Since the lyrics of Black Sabbath songs were often about mysticism, Dio often showed this gesture from the stage. Metal fans adopted it and over time it lost its original meaning and became just one of the symbols of metal music, regardless of the lyrical content.

The only thing I would add is that he didn't do it so much as it fit with Sabbath's lyrics. He did it because Ozzy had always done the peace sign and replacing him he felt he needed his own gesture. While Dio certainly popularized it John Lennon is believed to first rocker to make the sign which he picked up from the Eastern religions he studied. I'm not sure what meaning it had for them, would be interesting to know if it was the same luck/hex that Dio's nonna used.

Composer and lyricist of the song, Tuomas Holopainen has said that "Storytime" is inspired by the 1982 movie The Snowman, the theme of which was previously covered by Nightwish for their Oceanborn album. The idea for the music of "Storytime" was born when Holopainen wondered why no-one had made a remake of the film, and pondered on what his version of the score to the scene in which "Walking in the Air" plays would sound like.
In a teaser text released prior to the release, Holopainen summarized the song:
"How would it feel to take a midnight flight with a snowman through the most wondrous landscapes, like in the classic animated Yuletide film? The meaning of our very existence is created though stories, tales and imagination. They are at the very core of humanity."
The lyrics references several classical pieces of fiction concerning imagination, including the character of Peter Pan and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. The lyrics also mention the mythical Gaia, the Greek primordial Earth goddess.

    • @jaana3634

    • @crhu319
      @crhu319 2 роки тому

In this song "all of Gaia" refers to the whole biosphere, more like it's scientific sense. The Gaia Hypothesis has two forms, the earlier homeostatic one due to the late James Lovelock and the later homeorhetic one due to Lynn Margulis.
The homeostatic theory is more about the way Earth comes back to equilibrium while the homeorhetic theory notes that Earth is actually a series of worlds on one ball of rock, and that it can be thrown out of its equilibrium and into a new one.

    Greetings.
To touch up on a few points, Floor was with Nightwish since October 1st 2012 where she debuted with the band in Seattle, Washington.
Prior to that, Floor was recovering from burnout and was, at the time, attending her sister's wedding when she got the phone call.
Tuomas did give her 48 hours to learn the setlist and she nailed every song, although she does admit that at first there were sheets of paper (the setlist and lyrics) all over the place. lol
This performance in 2013, at the Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany, was 10 months later and actually had a "permanent" Floor on stage as she was offered the position full time 2 months earlier.
For the duration of this tour, since her debut in 2012, it was the first time the fans saw Floor Jansen with Nightwish.
    What a treat, huh? 😊
Despite her still having the band she formed in 2009, ReVamp was disbanded in 2016 to make room for Nightwish full time.
She currently has a side collaboration project called Northward and worked on her first ever solo album which is due to be released in March 2023 if I'm not mistaken.
3 singles from that album have been released by Floor....
Fire, Storm, and Me Without You.
A reaction is expected on all 3. 😉
The "stag skull" is the logo for the Wacken Open Air Festival. The "flaming" stag skull was a personal decision made as part of their permanent decor for the stage.... and it looks badass! 🤘
On a religious note, now I think I speak for many when I say I am absolutely curious to see/hear your take on "Weak Fantasy" live at Tampere.
Many fans have expressed much disappointment about the topic this song covers. But give it a reaction and let's see what you have to say about it.
    ua-cam.com/video/AN239Pbqbjo/v-deo.html
Tuomas always wrote 90 to 95% of all songs.
He usually writes their next album as they while they're on tour or during their break. Then he introduces the demo to the band (musicians first), to get feed back and suggestions.
Marko, the bass player/singer usually pitched in on songwriting and lyrics when needed. He also wrote and performed a few whole songs for the band including lyrics. One is The Islander and 2 is While Your Lips Are Still Red.
Since Marko's departure from the band on Jan 12, 2021, Tuomas has been the sole composer and already has all the material for their next album.
In their UA-cam channel they posted a short hinting on the topic of one of their new songs.
    ua-cam.com/users/shortsbcPwMKWikac?feature=share

@@ytcag2007 Haha, great reply man. And ty for taking the time! So your statment abt "many fans" was based on comments to a few reaction videos. Okay, that answers my question. Ty.
As to religion and whether or not it's a very delicate topic, I guess it all depends on perspective. Over here in Dutchieland, religion isn't a delicate topic, since it's barely a topic at all (seen as a private matter, and ppl usually don't bother others with it). Born & raised in that culture, I therefore asked Rosalie in the chat to leave religion at the doorstep and to just try & enjoy the music.
Other ppl from other cultures/countries have a different frame of reference and may be more used to ppl dragging religion into any kind of exchange. Over here it's not that much appreciated to bring religion into focus when it's not explicitly related to the topic of interest. Not bcz it's a delicate matter per sé, it's just seen as being in bad taste.
And I'm 100% with you re: being curious to see Rosalie react to "Weak Fantasy". Let's see if we can start a WF lobby and get her to react 😁

A lot of the trappings of metal are for affect. Theatrical grandeur. Fantasy and escapism. A great many metal artists were raised in conservative, religious households. They gravitated towards the genre out of a need to snub convention, and shock the status quo. Look at the crowd. See the comraderie amongst people from all walks of life, from all over the world. Metal is more than growls and explosions. Some of the best musicians ever have performed in metal bands.

'Storytime' is about the happiness that can be found in stories (“The core of all life is a limitless chest of tales”). Childhood innocence has always been an important inspiration for Tuomas in his songwriting (“A writer by a fire, imagined all of Gaia, took a journey into a child man’s heart”). It isn't a surprise that the chorus of this song heavily references Peter Pan and Never Never Land. It makes perfect sense that Tuomas would use a character like Peter Pan (who ran away to the magical world of Never Never Land to remain a child forever) in this song.
Looking forward to your next reaction. Greetings from the Netherlands.

I love your reaction. I felt the same way when I heard Nightwish for the first time. The bull's head is the mascot of the metal festival in Wacken. In my opinion, it has nothing to do with Satan or the Church. If you want to react "I want my tears back", please take the Decades version of Buenos Aires. Dear Rosalie,
As a fellow Dutch(guy) a few years older than Floor, I like to give you a kind of introduction to the special match.
Floor & Nightwish found each other in a special and very specific time, in there journeys.
A great amount of happy coincidences, conspired to come together and made this a very special match..
Exactly 10 years, september 2012, during Nightwishs' USA leg of their then Imaginaerum World Tour..
    Floor 1.01:
She had a very average childhood, all be it. Coming from a bit above average, effluent background. School, especially highschool was a bit 'akward' for her. From about age 10 she almost always was 'the tallest', not only of the girls, but of all her peers. Going to normal Dutch schools, and following her father during some moves across the South of The Netherlands. They moved a few times following the change of workplaces of her father.
One must know that among her peers, specially in the time period that she attended highschool. House music was paramount during that time period, think 'Two Unlimited' and somesuch. Her peers of the time in school, were pretty two-dimensional. One was peer pressured to be all 'normal', standard think a bit Girly-girls for the girls. If one did not follow that mold, you were most definitely labeled: Alternative. All in all not the most happy time, her years in highschool.
She loved music, but other music than mainstream. Learned guitar from her father(at age 13), joint her first band(aged 16) the band later renamed itself as After Forever. After completing her O-levels, this aspiring Biologist decided to make Music her main occupation in Life. She was part of the Grounding Class at the Tilburg, Rock Academy. An initiative to establish a (new kind of) music college/university. A school, to study music, but also not ignoring the need to school this new breed of musical professionals in the Business side of the Music Business. She continued her studies of music on a more mainstream music college(conservatorium), to study Opera and Contemporary music/ Musical theatre. Long after finishing the Rock Academy in 2003. She did teach also in the field of Voice,(-coaching), even some classes/ workshops at her Alma Mater; Rock Academy, Tilburg.
From 2009-2010, till just before joining Nightwish she was (forced to) take a big hiatus from Music, due to Burn-out symptoms. In fact Floor stated in interviews that Nightwish should not have called, even 5 weeks earlier than they did. Floor thinks that even five weeks earlier. She would not have been ready, mentally; to embark on her new life-adventure: Singing for, and later joining Nightwish.
The Wacken.2013 DVD is part of this first world tour. If you have 2,5 hours to spare, you can look on UA-cam for the documentary called; 'Please learn the Setlist in 48-hours.' She knew the band and there songs, but not the 15 songs of the new album, Imaginaerum. The song 'Ghost Love Score', is one of the first songs she contributed to writing/arranging music. During rehearsals/sound-checks she decided one day, to sing here variations on this mainly Tuomas and Taria song. The rest of the band liked her version of the vocals so much, they kept them her way till the present day.
In oktober 2013 she became a full member of the band Nightwish, at the same time as Troy Donockley. So beginning with 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful (album)' and Élan she and Troy were also contributing to writing of Nightwish music. With Tuomas (still) being the main composer, writer of music and arrangements.
Outside, alongside Nightwish she was part of Nordward and Ayreon. Starting 2019 she persued more solo projects, alongside her Nighwish work.
'Beste Zangers' gave this a big boost and the prolonged rest of Covid-19 in 2020 and 2021 was used by Floor to compose some new, solo works like Fire, etc.
Never met, or collaborated with each other. Floor and Henk Poort met just days before this recording and it was discovered they have a very good and special stage-chemistry.
    ua-cam.com/video/plCScjvDOJM/v-deo.html
The Dutch TVshow used a Nightwish/Tuomas/Taria re-arrangement, of this A.Lloyd-Webber musical song.
    Nighwish 1.01:
Symphonic Metal Band, since 1996 with as a nucleus Tuomas, keybord, composer and arranger and Taria, Soprano vocals and youth friend of Tuomas. They lost/send away Taria in the last part of 2005, and it almost broke the band. Other musicians joined, as other band members quit, or were no longer able to be part of Nightwish.
Marco and Taria performed a RE-arranged rendition of Phanton of the Opera. And this Tuomas Arrangement of this song became the basis of Beste Zangers 'Phantom', with Floor and Henk Poort.
Henk performed (200+ times) as The Phantom in the A. Lloyd-Weber musical in The Netherlands.
Henk is also known in The Netherlands, as one of the best headliner singers in Les Miserables in the BeNeLux stage performances of this musical...
Anette was a more pop-music oriented singer that joined Nightwish around 2008, and she was physically unable to continue the 2012 world tour, touring the leg in the USA.
That unability, ultimately led to the recasting of the Main singer,to Floor Jansen.
    Also to know is:
Tuomas had a hard time, many years after the split between Nightwish and Taria. It more than 'just a little', unsettled his Mental and Emotional Equilibrium.
He was forced, in the end to write this out of his system, resulting in the Song: The Poet and the Pendulum.
If you ever wish to make a reaction video, on this song.
Please prepare by researching the history behind this song, before(!) starting to record a reaction video on this song..
Also the London O2 version of 'greatest story on Earth' is very cool because of the live 'reading' of the texts by Prof. Richard Dawkins, himself..
Nighwish's Tuomas uses a lot of recordings along the live-played music onstage. Most of these recordings come from collaborations in London, England. The London Philharmonic and several London based Singers and Choirs come to mind.
Now more then ten years later Floor and here 'Brothers' of the Band Nightwish still conquer the world one live-concert at a time..
As down to earth as to be expected from a Metalhead, Soprano from Holland, just hanging with her Brothers in arms.
Still free of any Diva-like tendencies that almost wiped-out this band in 2006..
Hope the read(/see?) your reactions soon,
    Christian

Oh you are so innocent hahaha. You are going to be blown away by this journey of metal you are on, I can't wait. Both amazing reactions, thank you!
Even when there is really heavy metal screaming, it's a lot of the time just uplifting and positive. Like Arch Enemy for example (no, don't listen to them JUST yet. Don't, please. not yet). But it's uhh when you hear it it will be like "oh this is pure satan" but then the lyrics are so amazingly warm and uplifting and just for people coming together for something really good.
It's actually amazing how the metal community are actually a bunch of fuzzballs, in the most positive way possible. Very welcoming and love taking people on these journeys because metal usually breaks a lot of the misconceptions that come with the, "stigma" of it all, I guess. Anyway.
FYI, the flaming Bull in both of these songs are not part of Nightwish - it is a decoration and in-sync flame throwing is a symbol of the Wacken Open Air venue they are playing at.
80,000+ people were at that concert, and the biggest thing Floor has done up to that point. Wish I was there oh man.

Hi Rosalie! Really enjoyed your reaction! Apologies in advance if this is a little long.
The Bull with the flames - the bull is simply the logo for Wacken Open Air. They chose that logo because, as I understand it, the rest of the year that area is just an open field where cattle graze - a cattle farm - in the town of Wacken, Germany. They have Wacken Open Air once a year, and then it goes back to the cattle! The flames you see - just aesthetics - as it goes right along with the pyrotechnics that so many bands use in their stage shows. Its just for visual effect! Many, many people associate metal with satanic worship. I myself was raised studying scripture, and we have some very dear friends that are Jewish, so I'm very familiar with that faith and viewpoint as well (my first name is a Hebrew name - Michal). So, I fully get what you're saying. It's a huge misconception about metal. Though, there are definitely some that absolutely focus on the darker side of things - but this is true for just about any genre of music. You never know when you are listening to a popular artist with extremely questionable personal beliefs. Look at the lyrics for any metal band in question and that will give you a great idea of the essence of what they stand for. With Nightwish, Tuomas is a poet. He writes about the ocean a lot, fantasy (some mythology), works of literature, science, beauty, nature, and the human condition. One commenter I saw mentioned Weak Fantasy. That is Tuomas criticizing the church in certain ways - wars waged, control, and the opulence. It is not a critique upon G-d nor on faith, but of the church. There is a huge difference. So I didn't want that to be misunderstood. The other misconception for metal being associated w satanic stuff is the hand symbol people make (🤘🏻) all throughout metal and rock - known widely as the devil horns. That's not accurate either, but that's what grew legs and continues to run the marathon to this day lol! It was taken from an Italian hand gesture called the Mano Cornuta. The gesture itself is made to ward off evil, the evil eye, and evil spirits - fare la corna translates literally as "to make the horns". Now, they generally point it downward, yes. It's somewhat disputed who came up with it, but Ronnie James Dio is usually the one credited w doing it first on stage and making it poular with heavier music. He replaced Ozzy Osbourne as the lead vocalist in Black Sabbath. Their drummer says he showed Dio the symbol, so it's still debated. When asked about it Dio says he wanted a symbol to differentiate him from the departing Ozzy who always used the peace sign. He said this wards off evil and it flowed with what the band was supposed to be about - calling out the evils as they saw them or, warding off the evil eye. It's also attributed to positive things in other cultures, as well as some negative. But, Dio cites his Italian grandmother as his, sort of, inspiration for the symbol and what motivated him to untimately decide to use that. Back when this type of music started gaining popularity, people didn't like the loudness or the heaviness of it and they didn't like the often unkempt and disheveled look of those playing it. They saw them as rebels and bucking societal norms, the language, the partying - so people automatically deemed it bad. In the 50s and 60s (and onward) people were quick to label things that were different as evil and a negative influence. I mean, at first they labeled Elvis as a bad one, for goodness sakes lol! People werent the most understanding back then, and often times were too quick to judge a book by its cover instead of taking a moment to try and understand it. In those times, for them, any kind of different was bad. Thus, they latched on to the hand gesture and assigned "devil horns" to it and here we are. There are many misconceptions about metal, indeed! With any heavier band, read their lyrics. That's where you'll find a sense of their intent and message. Nightwish is a different breed, in my humble opinion. Tuomas has such an amazing way in expressing his mind and his thoughts, and you won't find anything heretical in their lyrics at all. Of course, music is subjective, and some may choose to interpret something through the lens of their own experiences, preconceived notions, or misconceptions; that is always something that happens. But, its not a fair thing to render judgement without taking into account what the writer is intending and saying. Just my thoughts. I thought you might like to know those things since you've said you aren't at all familiar with metal, and since you mentioned those we'll known associations with un-G-dly sentiments. I've yammered on long enough! Great reaction! I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts! Subbed for the ride with Ghost Love Score and to share in the wonderful Nightwish journey that we are blessed to be able to take! Sending blessings and greetings from the Deep South! Ghost Love Score is written for the opera singer Tarja, storytime for the pop singer Anette. At Anette the opera part came out of off. The song belongs to the concept album Imaginaerum, which is also the film music for the film of the same name. Tuomas had rebuilt the setlist in favor of Tarja's songs after the kick out. He now had a singer with classic training again.
Floor also uses growls and screams again and again. As a rule, however, very specifically when it serves the story. The only exception at Nightwish:
Nightwish - Yours is an Empty Hope (Live)
Other bands combine soft and hard vocals clever. Here is an example with Disco Sound:
Amaranthe - The Nexus (Official Music Video)
The flaming bull head is the logo of the Wacken Open Air. It is one of the oldest and largest metal festivals in the world. Wacken is a small town with almost 2000 inhabitants, in an agricultural area. Among other things, there are also cattle and therefore the bull's head. Instead, they could have taken a beet, but that would not have been metal. A drone flight:
    Wacken Woa from above 2014
The creation of the horn sign is controversial. In my opinion, it came from the Black Metal scene and was supposed to provoke. Today it is only the identifier of the metalheads, without further meaning.

There are dark songs because life isn't always happy. Anger and negative emotions is just as much a part of us as love is and different artists will bring that out in different ways. Artists tend to put their own experiences into their art. For example, there's a song by Metallica that you'll probably run into at some point during these reactions called Master of Puppets. At first glance it would seem through your eyes aggressive and perhaps even evil. However with a bit of a deeper look you'll find it's a very anti drug song, warning about the dangers of drugs and how you can become dependent on them and become your master. I'd very much recommend listening to it. It's very widely considered one of the best metal songs ever made. Make sure to watch the video with lyrics for your own benefit.

At Wacken 2013 every song was written for the prior singers as Floor had only been with the band about 10 months. GLS was a very early song written for Tarja and Storytime was for Anette, both intending the work well with their different styles. Good thing Floor can handle it all.

Floor had been with the band about 10 months at this point and was not yet an official member. She was singing songs written for the other two singers, despite none of these songs being written for her voice / abilities she made them her own in many ways. Floor simply sings what she wants how she wants. FYI she has performed in 8 languages that I know of. I'm sending you an email later this evening with some information and links that you will want to check out. This will be information for her work away from Nightwish. I was fortunate to see Nightwish live and photograph one of their shows this past spring. That was a special moment for me you've already got the info on NW so I figured I would help you out with some other Floor details.

you are just at the beginning of your trip ! the goal: "poet and the pendulum", an incredible master piece :).
You don't notice Marko (bass player). He has a wonderfull voice too (more in this incredible cover of Pink Floyd by Nightwish: high hopes).
If you want to see the breath management of Floor, try "sleeping sun" (search for "NIGHTWISH. SLEEPING SUN. ( FLOOR JANSEN ) - 2016").
Another great band of symphonic metal: Epica ! "sancta terra" in live retrospect is a duet with Floor. From the same live (with a full orchestra on stage): "design your universe".

Floor is married to the drummer of Sabaton. She is Dutch, he is Swedish, and they live on a farm in Sweden. In regular life Floor is more earth mother - sweet, funny, and very caring. Most of the band is from Finland. Troy, who you'll meet in other songs, is from the UK. He plays loads of different instruments and provides back-up vocals (except on Harvest, he's the lead). The band is mostly secularists. They believe very strongly in the beauty and wonder of science, and love nature (many are vegetarians). They're not against a belief in God, but strongly disapprove of rigid, organized religion (see Weak Fantasy). Tuomas is a poet. His lyrics are incredible. There is a Nightwish sound, but every song is different. Whew, I changed topic just about every sentence.

Young lady you are doing an awesome job here and I love to listen to your comments. I think you might fall into the Nightwish music trap of having whatever the last Nightwish song you listen to as your current favorite. I'm just a few months away from turning 70 years old and just found this group about 3 years ago. As I've listened to their music I found that I love all three of their vocalist, Tarja, Anette and Floor but that Floor is my favorite because of her amazing versatility in her vocals. Having said that these last few days I've been listening to Tarja with Nightwish and as a solo artist do the song, written by Tuomas, "Swanheart". I listened to the Nightwish version from the year 2000, taken from their live DVD, "From Wishes To Eternity" and then I listened to Tarja while on her world tour in 2013, 'Beauty And The Beat', and though very much the same to some degree the two versions are also very different and both very beautiful. It's very symphonic, especially Tarja's version but also the Nightwish version. I urge you to listen to this even if you don't do a reaction to it. But, then again, I would urge you to listen to every thing Nightwish, all the members, past and present, their individual projects and the other groups they have been a part of or their solo careers. Such a massive amount of talent spanning over 25 years and still coming out with much, much more. Keep doing what you're doing and I'm happy to be a subscriber!

I feel like you would love some of Tuomas' solo work. I would especially recommend A Lifetime of Adventure. He is a Disney fan and that whole album (titled Music Inspired by the Life and Times of Scrooge) is composed as sort of a soundtrack for a visual novel of Scrooge McDuck, made by Don Rosa, who also appears on the official music video for the song. The vocalist on that song is his wife, Johanna Kurkela.

Let me tell you about a metal band out of Chicago called Trouble. They sound like Black Sabbath I think they were Catholic in background. When I was young they made a song called The Wish. About being so depressed from what you are going through that you pray to God to let you die. But the song ends with there is hope that God will rescue you and his love prevails. I owe that band my life. A metal band that got sick of all the negativity and decided to put a positive message to their music. You see I was that teen that prayed for death. I hated myself for existing. Now I exist for Christ. So great things can be accomplished through metal. But everybody does have their preference.

As someone with some formal theological training, that bull is just the logo for the festival. Also, MOST metal bands play up the satanic imagery as a matter of asthetic and tradition in the community. There are relatively few actually satanic metal bands. Nightwish is one of the farthest from it. Their lyrics do sometimes make reference to pre Christian European paganism, but there is nothing objectionable in their lyrics. Nightwish generally has a very positive message.
The satanic imagery thing started in the 70s and 80s when people were accusing bands of being satanists for discussing darker themes. Eventually, these bands basically went "oh we're satanists, we'll show you satanist!" and from there they started to go out of their way to APPEAR satanic as it boosted publicity. AC/DC is a great example of this. They didn't start putting devil horns on their albums and stuff like that until after they got sick of being told they were devil worshipers. The trick is to ignore the appearance the band has and actually look at their lyrics.

Yes, Tuomas writes around 85% plus of Nightwish songs, lyrics and composes the symphonic elements that turn into the backing tracks. He is also known as the "Metal Mozart". Once you get going a little, say four or five dozen songs into the Nightwish catalog you'll understand the brilliance. This song/album went into the basis of the creation of an animated movie called "The Snowman", amazon still has it available, I think. But, their songs are varied as is their albums, Tuomas writes about what is inspiring him at the time, so an album like this "Imaginaerum"... has a mystical/fantasy vibe. Their next album is astrological science themed, their next different again. And their last album is a concept album of the likes, well probably... we'll get to that, that's a long way down the road.

From what I understand the bull is a popular rock symbol.
This performance is at the Wacken festival, so it’s there for all the bands, it was not Nightwish specific.
I’m very similar to you in my caution. I find the messages of Nightwish very uplifting and joyful, with the exception of “Poet and the Pendulum” which is about Thomas journey with very understandable depression and suicidal ideation. But it ends with love and hope and new beginnings. I appreciate the honesty of it. It’s not just wallowing, it’s an honest journey.

    • @talia6442
      @talia6442 2 роки тому

Tuomas doesn’t just wallow in sadness/darkness, he’s a poet and his lyrics are very deep and with meaning. He celebrates life.
He loves Disney, he loves Hans Zimmer. He loves epic movie scores…
I have found with this group that even songs that “sound dark” are just dark for the sake of being dark, but have deep meaningful messages that can only be communicated properly through this musical medium.
I have definitely found that if I’ve had a down day, apart from prayer and quiet meditation, Nightwish music brings me such joy and lifts my spirits…
I will add that I’ve only really been able to process some really deep pain through a different heavy metal band that did have screaming. But it touched something in my soul, a deep pain and anger and allowed it to open up and empty out in order to heal.
I believe God (Yahweh) can use all styles of music, there’s no ‘bad genre”, just bad messages communicated through content/lyrics/behavior.
It’s the group “Red”, and the song was “Breathe into Me”.
