"Tuomas is not a songwriter, he's a composer." - Oh boy, you're so right with that!

Finally watched your reaction to this since I just finished mine, and absolutely love it! Love your breakdowns into the musicality as you've got a great insight to that. Keep em coming, man! 🤘

"He's not a songwriter, he's a composer. Let's get that straight." That's flat-out one of the best and most accurate comments I've ever heard a reactor make about Tuomas. Well done!!!!!!

Nightwish uses a backtrack from an orchestra and a choir. So I don't think he uses his keyboard for the choir. The London Philharmonic Orchestra (the same one that did the music for Lord of the Rings) does the symphonic parts and Metro voices choir group and London's young musicians choir group do the choir vocals. And because of the back tracks, the band cannot make any mistakes. Like this band wasn't awesome enough already. I know. lol

A couple of Finn hints. 1) There are no silent letters in Finnish. Every vowel is pronounced (sometimes leading to curious extended diphthongs). Every consonant is pronounced, a doubled consonant being a syllabic break. 2) With all words (and proper nouns) the primary stress is placed on the First syllable, and not on the 2nd, as is the case in English. I’ve made up a letter pronunciation chart but this is a dumb place to type for an hour. [It has been said that English is a language with relatively few rules but thousands of exceptions. Finnish is a language with thousands of rules but very few exceptions.]

When she sings "every chimney, every moonlit sight" in that lighter whimsical tone and then goes right back into the powerful rasp for the next line... oh man, it gets me every single time.

If you want to react to a song/epic piece then poet and the pendulum (Wembley) it's longer than Ghost love score. It's super emotional, read the story behind it before you react and also the lyrics. Also have a stop watch on hand. From 3 minutes and counting countdown the 3 minutes. You will see just how ingenious Toumas is

Imaginaerum was a circus, so the creepy/funny vibe I think you get from that. I always get a bit of Pirates of the Caribbean from Nightwish too, Check out Last Ride of the Day for more of the circus vibe (and epic Floor and Marko harmonizing). Also check out Song of Myself because everyone is amazing on that and it has so much dynamic range. If you want to hear Marko sing a folk song, The Islander (Live at Tampere). Floor sings backup on this one.

Has anyone noticed how most performers sing what they can and Floor sings whatever she wants?

Always the Floor goosebumps on my arms no matter how many times I've heard this song.

If you'd like to hear more of the bassist (Marco) showing of his vocal skills, check out their live cover of Pink Floyd's High Hopes.

From one musician to another, you are really going to enjoy 7 Days to the Wolves. The last few minutes have some subtle but interesting structures that culminate in a headbanging race to the finish line. If you do it right, you'll be exhausted by the end. LOL

No man. Some reaction channels have watched like 30 of their songs and they still get amazed by new elements. Damn, even their fans get surprised by Nightwish. I love them for that. :D

I just recently jumped on the "Nightwish reactions" bandwagon. It makes me so happy when I see others being hit by the realisation that they have missed out on something great until they hear Nightwish. The band as a whole is just phenomenal, but also as individuals all of them create amazing things. They are just magic! I cannot get enough of them, new and old material, all of it!
