@@ryanbarker5217 That's my thought too. The mall near me got a bunch of rich women to open a couple of "Women's Stores". Local artist that make candles, tie-dye shirts and skirts. You can open the store but keeping the merchandise from not getting stolen is a different story.

Start punishing and prosecuting crime. People who prey on others and don’t follow the rules do not deserve to be there threatening taxpayers. Find leaders that operate within reality, not Romper Room. Establish thorough rehab programs for those who want help. Some need to be medicated for their own safety. If you can’t be tough on crime get out of the way so we can get our city back!

But now it's all but a memory! The city officials are to blame for letting it go bad this far. They didn't nip it in the bud, anticipate. They chose the homeless, addicts, criminals over the city. Now it is close to dead, very hard to revitalized when everyone & retailers are gone.

Tourism will only work if people feel safe.
I was just in Singapore I felt safe there. I was in Charlevoix Michigan and felt safe there. I was in Tampa Florida and felt safe there.
After each trip, I landed at SFO and took BART to my home station. Each time there were drug addicts under the influence of something. One snorted something into his nose and then took off his shirt completely and started shaking his head back and forth and looking very paranoid at the few "normal" people on the train. But he hasn't the only one, another fella walked in slumped over (a sign of fentanyl), and left his bike in the middle of the aisle for passengers to climb over to get out of the train. And these weren't the only two drug addicts on the train. There were at different times six, and the ratio of "normal" people to drug addicts on the train was at times 1-to-1. Take one trip to Civic Center on BART, tell me what family with kids will feel safe there?
Until SF says "enough", the doom loop is going to continue. My wife stopped riding BART several years ago due to safety, and I stopped recommending any out-of-state family come visit me for vacation. Instead, I now go visit them where it is safer.
