ERRA is by far my favorite band. I get goosebumps on every songs. Its just amazing
The transition into the breakdown is my favorite part of this song, easily. And, I just saw them live a few weeks ago, they play all of their stuff as it is written. Old or new.
Actually Erra and Texas ln July came up not too far apart. Erra - 09 TIJ - 07. After TIJ broke up, Erra also lost their second vocalist which led to the Texas In July singer joining Erra.

I wouldn't even consider Ian Eubanks as a second vocalist. Garrison and JT all day.
In my opinion, garrison lee was the best vocalist Erra had. He was so versatile. Ian banks was actually garrison’s good friend, and respected that he almost sounded like garrison to keep that style alive. Also wyatt, Jesse( the lead guitarist) does the cleans, and JT does the main screams. So I guess, it’s two vocalists, but predominantly it’s only one, but i like that Jesse is getting more involved with his cleans. You should definitely try to cover, “hybrid earth” from the album, “Augment”
@@mikue666 well you should cause they put out 5 songs with him and toured with him for a year or so. Ian was a beast, but has a deathcore vocal-style.
The singers are JT Cavey from Texas in July, and the clean vocals are Jesse Cash. He also has a independent project called “Ghost Atlas”. Great video!

I definitely agree with you Wyatt. a lot of these drum parts are so intricate that you can tell it's something that they usually come up with in the studio and that they themselves have to learn later on. it's not something they particularly write and then go into a studio and attempt to track precisely. I think they usually track it and then have to learn their own music later on for live performances
Yeah, I met alex (their drummer) and he told me that he write his parts on a computer before learning them for tracking or live show
@@TheGrosmenou oh nice so kind of similar I guess. Yeah I always think about how drummers can't possibly know every one of their own tracks by heart upon recording lol. and I'm sure it takes them a little bit of time to learn their own music and get it down so that they can actually play it live.

FINALLY! Been waiting forever for this.
I caught ERRA last Friday; it was life-altering. This is one of, if not the best song they’ve written since JT Casey joined.
The Northlane/Erra concert on Friday was absolutely insane.
This has been my favorite band since 2011 when I found Impulse (they do have a self titled EP from 2010 however though.)
Back then Garrison was their main screamer and was AMAZING. His vocal range was the shit. Alan did back up vocals and guitar, and Jesse did cleans/guitar who you still hear on this song today.
Back in 2013 though after their album Augment, both Garrison and Alan left the band and everyone was like... "uhhhh WTF??" So ERRA brought on Ian who had filled in during a tour once as their new screamer and released Moments of Clarity EP in 2014. It's one of their forgotten albums - but goes heavy as fuck. Give it a listen.
But even then Ian was just a quick replacement vocalist, he never intended to become the permanent vocalist, so he dueced as well and this time ERRA was like... "Welllll shit. Does that mean we're done as a band now??" But it just so happened that JT from Texas in July was no longer in his band either and agreed to join ERRA as their permanent vocalist.
Two albums and a single later, the rest is history.
Can confirm, what you hear is what you get with Alex. He has been a beast and very consistent live since Jesse and Alex’s old band, By Blood and Iron, which was a melodic deathcore band. But to pay some back story. Back in early 08, Jesse, Alex, and their old bassist Adam, who did keys for BBAI, found a vocalist named Garrison who was a vocalist for a local band called Even Idols Die and after getting their first ep finished(not andromeda) their second guitarist who left back in 2012 Alan Rigdon joined up, who was in an old Sumerian label band, and then recorded the Ep Andromeda, as well as Impulse as the same group till their bassist left before writing their second album Augment, and that’s when Sean Price joined as their bassist, but is now their second guitarist, and their bassist now is the old bassist for I The Breather. They’re from my home state and I know the guys so I was lucky to have this history just stock piled in my head. Andromeda is still a masterpiece. Oh, and Dissection. Look it up. That’s all.

JT Cavey is one of my favorite screamers out there and Jesse Cash has has probably my favorite clean vocals of any band except Devin Oliver. I need to see Erra again live, I love them soooooo much and I’ve jamming to them a lot lately especially Neon
ERRA sounds amazing live too. JT is the most consistent live screamer ive heard. if you close your eyes youd think you were hearing the studio release. The rest of the band is good live too.

Their "Impulse" record from 2011 is probably the pinnacle of their heavy side. They've mellowed out a bit but their old vocalist, Harrison, rips just as hard as JT Cavey. They were originally a five piece band and lost a member. I know Drift was recorded as a foursome but they picked up a member for Neon. Jesse, the lead guitarist, does cleans. Give it a spin 🤘

JT Cavey did vocals for Texas in July’s album Bloodwork, the last album they produced. I believe he toured with them once the album came out but not before. I know the drummer and guitar/vocals (Jesse Cash) have been in the band since the beginning. Jesse does a lot of the leads as well as sing the choruses/clean vocals for ERRA. I think their bassist was in I the Breather or they had a bassist at one point who played with ITB. Jesse also has a side project called The Ghost Atlas you should check out. It’s not as heavy an it’s all clean vocals but he’s a great song writer.

Alexander Carlin Music sheeeeeit man you ever seen them? I don’t think neither Jesse nor Conor settle into lead or rhythm. I know Jesse plays some seriously ridiculous shit, I just think it depends on the difficulty between the rhythm or the lead during his vocal parts that decides which he’s gonna play

JT does Dirty vocals and is absolutely incredible live. Jesse, their lead guitar player does clean vocals and is also a monster guitarist. The entire band is very talented and kill it live. Their drummer does stick to the recordings during live performances. They are also extremely nice guys. Have hung with them at many of their New York Shows. Pound for pound they are one of the best bands in the Genre. You need to check them out.

I just came from another vip from erra and northlane. fucking love both these bands and no the singer from Texas joined cause he worked with some of the members and the old singer at a burger house . close though.. oops someone already answerd this. but anyways northlane killed in too the other night . all really nice guys . i also have some great vids from like 5 feet away if anyone wants to check them out from the show. This is one of Erra's coolest tracks. I enjoyed this the first time I heard it. I liked the Impulse album a lot it sounds like that album. I need to play the new album more. I like to replay tracks so I can appreciate the music.
From their Wikipedia page "They have cited August Burns Red, Misery Signals, Born of Osiris, and Saosin as musical influences. Cove Reber and Anthony Green of the bands Saosin and Circa Survive have been noted as a particular influence on Jesse Cash's vocals."
The Saosin influence for sure shows, which I LOOOOOVE. Such a call back to an amazing vocalists.

Yes erra has two vocalists. I saw erra with born of osiris about a year ago and they are pretty good i love the clean vocalist voice.
If you really want to fuck with erra HEAVY, like I do, check out their earlier stuff. It’s my favorite records from them. Starting from the self-titled ep, andromeda, impulse(the record that got them a small buzz in metalcore), and then, Augment(the record that got them notarized for the great band they are).
