The Vauxhall Corsa VXR is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine that produces 189bhp- a considerable amount for such a small car and the most powerful Vauxhall Corsa ever. Brilliant fun on a B-road, the three-door only baby VXR has entertaining handling and strong performance although the looks can divide opinion. The central exhaust, bodykit and large alloys are far from subtle and certainly attract attention. Competiton comes in the form of the Renaultsport Clio, Abarth 500, or Mini Cooper S.

My brother has just bought a Corsa VXR Nurburgring. He took me out in it the day he got it and scared the shit out of me.
Loving your reviews CarBuyer lately. You've been reviewing all the right vehicles, keep it up :)
Passed in may bought my vxr not long after ready for stage 2 now done 3/4k miles love it
Still getting torque steer with a limited slip diff,,sounds like they done a good job on the diff then,.
I always found it funny that Corsa was an ideal car for new drivers since me or anyone I knew could never get a sensible insurance quote for one lol, probably loads of learner drivers before hand that have smashed them up and given them a bad rep with insurers
FINALLY!!! The Corsa VXR review!!!
3:00 Glad that for once he didn't say "Ford Fiesta"
I assume, then, that you've never been in an Astra GTC. That car oozes quality at every turn. From the excellent dashboard materials to the insane suspension system.
What is wrong if it is not a Mini?
It looks much better then any of the Mini range (only the Paceman is close). The interior is miles ahead then the Mini and probably it is much more comfy and suitable for long journeys and everyday life then the Mini.
...so there is left only the Mini "famous" handling and image based on pretty much nothing NO THANKS - I would go for the VXR any way
My BSM learning car was a VXR! Passed in it about a week ago!
Very young looking Matt, and he talks very fast ! Thats enthusiasm for you !
looks very nice. too bad we don't have Vauxhall or once upon a time Opel in here anymore :(
I have this car in the same colour, fantastic hot hatch!!
Cool Hans, really like the Astra Coupe turbos :-) very nice
a review of a renaultsport clio, please ;] along with the review of a brand new 2012 clio :D
Coming to a council estate near you soon.....just add extra bass subs for the full chav effect.
That was a good review.
Love this car
Look at mat now on carwow
Very cool car.
Very cool review.
is the vauxhall corsa limited edition same as the vxr or is it the same thing?
Vaux making really good looking cars a specially opc lines.
Casper, they can already match a Porsche in handling. Front wheel drive means that it's harder to put power down though.
Want a car that the majority of road users will say "oh dear..." And to impress boy racers at mcdonalds? Then this is for you lol
you only need a 1.2 limited edition to do that on a daily basis
Alex Jones McDonald's boy racers couldn't afford the insurance on them 😂😂😂😂
That is GOlf lmao
Nice car!!
I've been in both, I've test driven lots of cars because I'm looking to buy (decided to get a Kia GT in December. Far cheaper to buy and run+fun+looks amazing+reliable).
Looks are also subjective. The GTC VXR is OTT and the S3 is as dull as ditchwater IMHO.
Both the A3 and GTC use very strong plastics that can easily withstand years of abuse and, as mentioned, Studies show Vauxhalls to be more reliable.
I guess my biggest problem with the S3 is the price. £30k is far too expensive.
vauxhalls are far from reliable, i own one and i know quite a few people who own them and every one of them has been a headache, mines has went through 2 wiper motors, a washer pump, coil packs, spark plugs, synchro, and fuses all in the space of a year
Dear Mat, I subscribe to this channel because of your reviews. Can you review the Ford Focus ST?
This car is way better than the competition. :)
I would rather go for the Abarth 500. Love the looks on that car.
what colour is the best for this one?
I really hate how we don't seem to get any of these beautiful hot hatches in the US. Probably my favorite little segment of cars.
DietSoap3 American markets aren't all that interested in our cars unfortunately
6.5 seconds! Now i really need to get my e 350
brabus chipped
Love the color too... ;)
I've got a special edition number on my centre console ;-)
What do you expected from a vauxahall corsa it isn't a ferarri, but I have to say it's better than any other of is conpetitors and if you don't think the engine has sharp response, so can you imagine what the clio rs would be like with it's natural aspirated engine
Every reviewer allways say the seats lack a memory function but they dont! They slide back into place as long as u keep them tilted fully forward when people clomb into the back. If you tilt it back before you slide it back it will stay in that position. Very simmilar to every other 3 door car i have ever seen 😂
I’m more of a Ford guy myself but that’s peng 😍
You think? I really like it!
can you get this car in canada?
How much would this cost?
Dude its not a sticker its actually engraved into the B-pillar just to differentiate it from the normal VXR,you would, like you said have to replace the whole pillar if you didn't like it.
Hell yea!!!
I want that car in Brazil! OPEL, come here OPEL!
VERY NICE VIDEO, VERY NICE CAR!
"The Vauxhall Corsa is the favourite car of learner drivers"
Ford Fiesta: "Hold my petrol!"
Lovely little car think i might get the nurburg edition i might even show it off at mcdonalds car park aint been their for a while might do it for all the haters hahahaha😂 so many haters on this car its unreal get a fucking life for god sake its a car ! Get watever u feel u want to get dont get put off by trolls on a keyboard just buy watever u want and enjoy it 🤓🤛
Joe92 I was really put off this car by people's comments. I just wanted an hot hatch and I looked at the market, Fiesta ST, 208 GTI, Clio RS. In the end I bought an almost new Corsa D VXR. I LOVE IT!!!!!
i fixed this up really nice in forza 4
James May would hate this haha.
yes
Do the new Honda Accord review!
If I had the money, I would import one
What sticker dude?
Opel is the American General Motors in Europe so ask that at this USA builder ^^
I cannot wait to get mine this month. Unless you have driven one it is hard to explain to people just what its like !! Absolute Lush
i drive the 1.2 limited edition. love it
Freedoms Battle Pirates do you have a 13 year old girlfriend?
TheGreatSheikh dafuq.....muppet
@@123macbookair Do you have a brain of a 13 year old?
Covert Person no, that was 2 years ago so I have a brain of a 15 year old you dipshit
Enjoy your Lexus RX the front desk
Can gm take the people from vauxhall and Opel and use them to design Chevys new cars
Fact is: I've been in both (other than you as it seems) and there are MILES between the quality of each car. Simply knock on the dashboard, the inner door, SIMPLY LOOK AT IT.
Matt went from VxRs to lambos with yanny
Lime green metallic
Whats up with the quantity of videos lately? We want more!!!!!!
I'm guessing he means the Ring sticker
Always in the shadow of the king, Clio RS.
Is Vauxhall a bad name in the UK? Every time I see a Vauxhall review they go "but it's a Vauxhall" LOL? In Europe it's quite a solid brand Opel and is well known to compete with VWs.
I don't know where in Europe you live but in Belgium Opel is still seen as miles behind the real german brands. At least in terms of quality that is
Gijs van Heertum Miles behind? It's not like Opel Insignia is any worse than Passat.
In terms of quality it probably is. Opel cars just aren't really built to last. Things might have changed in ecent years but if you see how many old VWs are out there and how little old Opels... says it all
Gijs van Heertum Yeah but things have changed since the new opel generation came in. Insignia, Astra IV, Corsa D etc. You can check out the carbuyer review they did on the new insignia and the new passat. In the B7 passat review they said the quality of the materials in the centre panel is clearly worse than in the insignia (I think that's what they said - I can't remember what exactly but it was definitely about insignia's quality being better). Im not an Opel fanboy or anything, I think Ford is my 'native' kind of brand but when my dad was choosing between insignia and passat b7 he chose the insignia cause he simply liked it better. I think that just says that opel went through a long way to be where it is at the moment.
Vauxhall has better reputation than other brands, its top 3 selling car brands in UK and in top 10 most reliable car brands. Jeremy said Vauxhall/Opel do not make ugly cars and Jeremy also said that the new Zafira tourer is one of the most comfortable cars he has driven, Vauxhall recalled Zafira B for catching fire but brands like Toyota had sticking accelerator pedal, they also recalled 1 million hybrids for risk of catching fire. Engines on some Vauxhalls are very good, an old Astra G reached 275k miles, Zafira have good engines.
(Hint, the reply button lets you reply to people.)
The Astra GTC VXR is one of the best C-segment hot hatches on the market right now, second only to the Renaultsport Megane 265 Cup. The Audi S range has never been anything special.
To repeat myself: If you're going to buy a fast Audi, you get a TT.
Corsa and Astra VXR are typical chav cars. especially in green orange and light blue
Opel opc or Fiesta St?what do u think guys?
I like the opel
Corsa VXR
Tom Forrest It's an Opel, rebadged to an Vauxhall.
gr8 color too :@
Why the hell would you get an S3 over an Astra VXR?
If you want a sporty Audi, you get a TT.
benanderson89 if you want a hair dressers car you get a TT. If you want a sporty Audi well, you just have to have the Leon Cupra R unfortunately
Im not saying, that the Vauxhall is a bad car in terms of price/quality, I just say that if I had the choice I'd go for the Audi.
The Problem with the high Vauxhall Models is, that the engines sound good on the paper, but when driven feel less powerfull.
This Corsa for example isnt that much faster than a Polo GTI, although he has 30 hp more.
Problem is, the GTI is the same price / cheaper and has better quality, so why go for that vauxhall?
I love KIAs btw., I really like the Ceed.
you're right, and anyone who has driven both will agree, but the steering in the gti is terrible, at the end of the day its what you prefer and i like the vxr steering and it still feels pretty fast
I like the car but hate the devaluation vaxuhall cars get hit with, and this guy hasn't covered long term issues e.g these 1.6 has piston made out of plastic and cost a bomb to fix
This guy was going good untill the end. comparing it to a mini john cooper works s then saying its just a corsa well why aint the mini just a mini cooper.
Enjoy your Lexus RX car but o lord the almighty bless and the front steps and I don't have a quick note the following around since we have a new message the front door and buy the back on track
..outgoing Clio RS is a proper hot-hatch (but the new one 'ill suck!:) - no 2-door version and only 200bhp --> Renault is killing the legend !:)
same price as a mini cooper s works? lol
IF you want people to giggle at you BEHIND your back and if you want to impress the people who hang about the McDonalds car park..THIS IS THE CAR FOR YOU.
Dennis Smith You obviously have no idea.
Well I’m getting one of these tomorrow although at the moment I have an Audi A5 black edition it’s looks stunning but only had it for 6 months and it’s been in Audi for a month and a half getting repaired really unreliable with only 30,000 miles on the clock I would never get an Audi again crap cars . Am I down grading nope not if it’s reliable
michelle selby interesting to read your comment about Audi reliability, or lack of it. I got a new A1 last year and it was faulty as soon as it left the dealer. Got rid after 2 months. They are very nice looking cars with great interiors, but I dont trust them to last.
michelle selby how is the vxr?
i actually had a reason to watch this video to see what people thought of it because i do have number 67 in green, you on the other hand have a ''M3 & Audi S5 on your drive'' yet you search for this video, and write a comment slating it… id like to see proof you have an 'M3 & S5' ;)
I own number 67 now 😂🤟
No, it's 205bhp which is 13 horses more than the standard Corsa VXR which is 192bhp. I've never heard a Corsa VXR being 175bhp...
vxrtom he said 13 🤔
how much hp ??
210
Could I buy this as my first car
EPM Media so.... Did you? Lol
not a good idea to buy a sporty car as your first car
Opel is Vauxhall ?
Nick Brown Yes
ive got a 458 italia with 15 turbos as a runaround if im not using my helecopter..... pointless arguements.
So your talking about nice things you have !! My sa
my friend had one of these and I have to say just fuck off the back seat can fit 1/2 of a person
Funny because I like the Audi TT or did you just feel like saying something so you'd feel special?
James May doesn't like this car. It was developed at the Nurburgring.
Would still go for Mini JCW
Their*
GoPro rattle at 2:21
Yeah, it needs to be a bit darker
Vauxhall is Opel.
and i you do care stick a beasty remus on it
My insurance is £1,500 at the moment (age 24)...well worth it though!
do u thinki can get this as my first car ???? by the way im 23 lol
I'm 17 and own this and my insurance is £2500
Jack Hogwood thats alot of money for insurance
The average for a 17year old is £4000 now
isit ??? well hopefully me being 23 it will help it become lower than that
2:52
Sorry, didnt see the sarcasm at first. :D
Vauxhall doesn't really desined anything in that car so essentially it's just an Opel with Vauxhall badge.
might awsell been driving holding a mobile.
No, Opel is Vauxhall ;)
I feel sorry for anyone outside of Europe, they have limited decent cars co choose from.....
I'm not being sarcastic. The GTC including the VXR are excellent cars. I mean FFS, Vauxhall rank HIGHER on the What Car reliability survey than Audi and there are several Vauxhall models (including the Astra) and no Audi's in the Reliability Index's top 100.
Stop being a badge snob. You'll find a lot of nice cars on the road that way.
What? Opel IS a part of General Motors...
Gaming Droid Nope it's part of PSA
david norman did you really reply to a 5 year old comment
