Death Row would’ve been bigger than Def Jam and universal today. I pretty much sure Death row next generation would’ve been Eminem,50 Cent and Game while the 3rd Generation (todays Generation) would’ve been Kendrick Lamar and Silk Sonic

💡NOT letting go of that hood mentality is stifles our growth. If you are smart enough or talented enough to make it out. WHY would you want to have all the ill's of the hood carry over into your business or better opportunities?
I think that's a perfect comparison between Ruthless and Death Row. The environment on Ruthless was pretty chill, because Eazy didn't wanted to bring any kind of street shit to the workplace. He was adamant about that. That's what Cold187 told. That's coming from somebody who survived the streets. Suge on the other hand was in College playing football. They wanted so badly to live that kind of fantasy. It makes sense why Dre left.
We all hear about how shady the record industry is. The Gang element amplified that notion. As fans outside of that culture, some probably had no idea how much was really going on until Pac got killed.
Suge was a fool for not recognizing Dre's talent and keeping him happy. Dre was the one who made DR what it was. Pac definitely added on to it but Dre was that guy. Had Suge stayed cool with Dre he would probably be a billionaire today too. Suge burnt old bridges because he thought Pac was all he needed and that Pac would always be around. That was a huge mistake.
Had Suge held his ego and left that hood reckless behavior alone it’s highly possible Dre would’ve still been at Death Row and had Dre not left Death Row Records that label today would’ve still be thriving and could possibly been bigger that Def Jam and universal. Had Dre Not left Death Row the next generation in 2000s would’ve been Eminem,50 Cent and Game while today artists would’ve been Kendrick Lamar and Silk Sonic
Shit wouldn’t have lasted this long no matter what imo lol. If they would’ve stayed together I don’t even think shit would’ve played out like with 50, game, em etc… everything was meant to be just like it played out
Dre wanted to let go of that gangster image. We saw that on his first Aftermath release that tanked. He realized people wanted that gangsta ish and released 2001
And this is another example of when keeping it real goes wrong death row could have been what rocAfella is now but tryna be street got em back on the street 😢
That could’ve played a part but that was later because it already come out from Majority people that worked at Death Row during that time that Dre wanted to Leave Death Row during the time of Snoops Murder Case (1994). It became a dangerous place to work at.
It's easy for people to look back and say, why about this and that and why not this....but we are talking about young men and teenagers. Very few will have the maturity to do things different

If only Suge left the hood elements out of the business, imagine how huge death row could have been.🤔🤔🤔😪😪😪
Death Row would’ve been bigger than Def Jam and universal today.
I pretty much sure Death row next generation would’ve been Eminem,50 Cent and Game while the 3rd Generation (todays Generation) would’ve been Kendrick Lamar and Silk Sonic
@@UnknownRaiderGuy True. What became Shady/Aftermath/G Unit and now Kendrick, would've all been under Death Row/Interscope.
It would have been to us what Motown was in the 60s/70s for hip hop and r&b for sure. Question is though would it have continued long enough until now and would Eminem, 50, or Kendrick be signed ? A lot of what ifs
@@Aloneat777 As long as Dre and jimmy was still involved im 99 per cent sure Death rows next generation artist going into 2000s to today would’ve been all of aftermath talent.
I see people blaming Dre for the "chaos", look it's nothing wrong to have gang bangers there; but it got to a point where Dre was like this is too much. There's always a limit as to how wild something is. By the time Dre was thinking about leaving Tha Row, shit was getting way to wild, there was no balance, it just got too much. If they added a limit, shit would've been alright. Remember Dre was cool with Piru/Bloods and Crips being at Death Row. It's just that there was no limit, every year it got more wild than the year before. I think Death Row just needed a balance.
When gang members are involved there is never balance cause they only respect one thing...
Who is blaming Dre?
@@TCthaCrisis my exact question as well🤔
@@TCthaCrisis Look at the comments blaming Dre
Pac told suge to let Dre go everyone knows that Dre is lazy, he puts out a song every 6 years, they didn't need him

Kurupt speaks from a bias standpoint, Big U was backing kurupt and suge was scared of Big U so kurupt actually faired out better than daz at death row and daz produced on damn near everything
Nobody was scared of Big U...them ninjas at DR would've ate him up...plus he was locked up during that whole time period, wtf was he gonna do?
Big u was locked up what was he gonna do? Give his word? Stop it
Scared of big U ?! Big u and suge were friends … and also big u was locked up that whole era .. there was nothing he could of done
Niggas in the mentions acting like Big U wasn’t Big U.
I doubt if the likes as Buntry, Heron, Poochie and George were afraid of Big U... Deathrow had serious muscle in that time.

It's sad that he try to seem so cool as a gang member being 50 years old
He pushing that chow line now
I always thought it was crazy how niggaz ended up working for a nigga that used to work for them. Suge went from being their bodyguard to their boss!🤣🤣🤣
Why does kurupt always where sunglasses during interviews?
Nah what it was, Dre talked all that gangsta sh*t but got shook when he got around some real sh*t😂😂😂
Exactly lol
Basically what mob James said lol talk the talk but when it came time to it they didn’t walk it
Niggas was calling Eazy a hater back then, whole time he was right 😂😂😂

I don't blame him
“But where you from?”… Ended perfectly.
“That’s crazy to bring that to the studio, DOC had to have a gun on him, that’s crazy!” I guess Kurupt thought that was normal😂

Keep in mind that a lot of the staff of Deathrow were gang related, either by simple affiliation or actual membership and not just one gang, we're talking Bloods and Crips, on the same label, in the same building. Being strapped was probably the least you could do to feel just a little safe and comfortable in that environment.
Yeah nobody's surprised it didn't last, sad thing is how legendary death row could of been if it was ran the right way
Dre was a big supporter of death row at the 95 sauece awards

Shoutout to Dr. Dre.
Suge was “BIG RED” from the “five heartbeats “ movie w/ Leon
Kurupt sounds faded like he been drinking some Henny lol
'And still rock the mic" crazy that sounds old school as f now. 😅
Kurupt a legend bro 💯
Is kurupt accent mixed with philly or Philly or Longbeach califonia? am a Nigerian looking in . always wanted to know.

'WELCOME TO DEATHROW' ..
Snoop said I signed to Death Row Records to make music, not gang bang. Look where Snoop at now.
Cause we gangs members!!!
Powerful statement, but also funny as hell😂😂😂
Yay We All Gotta Get Older 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Same old stories told over and over it will never be another label like death row it’s crazy how much they’re talked about
What dat say on Kurupt hat 🧐
We all hear about how shady the record industry is. The Gang element amplified that notion. As fans outside of that culture, some probably had no idea how much was really going on until Pac got killed.
Tragic. No true long-term foresight. They could have still been holding it down if it wasn't for all the low-level Street s**t.
Kurupt top 5 mc from the West coast, always pac pac pac, nobody talks about Gotti, definitely top 5, for me even above pac.
That laugh was high AF 😅
Suge was a fool for not recognizing Dre's talent and keeping him happy. Dre was the one who made DR what it was. Pac definitely added on to it but Dre was that guy. Had Suge stayed cool with Dre he would probably be a billionaire today too. Suge burnt old bridges because he thought Pac was all he needed and that Pac would always be around. That was a huge mistake.
Pac told suge to let him go Dr Dre is lazy it takes him years to create anything they didn't need him
Had Suge held his ego and left that hood reckless behavior alone it’s highly possible Dre would’ve still been at Death Row and had Dre not left Death Row Records that label today would’ve still be thriving and could possibly been bigger that Def Jam and universal.
Had Dre Not left Death Row the next generation in 2000s would’ve been
Eminem,50 Cent and Game while today artists would’ve been Kendrick Lamar and Silk Sonic
Shit wouldn’t have lasted this long no matter what imo lol. If they would’ve stayed together I don’t even think shit would’ve played out like with 50, game, em etc… everything was meant to be just like it played out
are fell back...like harry O...told is hardhead ass!!!😅😂😂
Pac told suge to let Dre go Dre is lazy if you look at it he puts album out every 6 years
It's a classic example of Design + Realisation
Dre wanted to let go of that gangster image. We saw that on his first Aftermath release that tanked. He realized people wanted that gangsta ish and released 2001
No Dre didn't want to let go of the image he just wanted to remove himself from the disrespect & ignorance. The constant unnecessary violence
That album is double platinum, how did it tank??
@@carlosfrp2915 nobody liked it
@@carlosfrp2915 dre himself don't even acknowledge it..."haters say dre fell off... how? my last album was the chronic" -Still DRE 1999
Chronic 2001 was the least "gangsta" sounding album Dre did up until that point. I grew up on the first Chronic, and it smokes 2001 hands down.
And this is another example of when keeping it real goes wrong death row could have been what rocAfella is now but tryna be street got em back on the street 😢
Dre left cuz Suge was smashing Michelle point-blank
That could’ve played a part but that was later because it already come out from Majority people that worked at Death Row during that time that Dre wanted to Leave Death Row during the time of Snoops Murder Case (1994). It became a dangerous place to work at.
Dre sure was tough on ruthless & the beginning of death row🤔 I guess that was all suges doing too huh?
😂 how was he tough?
@The CunninLynguist go listen to & watch his interviews/music on Ruthless & D.R. it's self explanatory
Big faxtz
Dre was never tough
Dre never came off as trying to be tough. He always made it clear that he was a musician/entertainer in interviews.
It's easy for people to look back and say, why about this and that and why not this....but we are talking about young men and teenagers. Very few will have the maturity to do things different
not necessarily; young men and teens will follow their mentors. In their case it was a bunch of gangsters. Either no one was willing to mentor them in a positive light, or they refused positive mentorship.
Suge made a comment saying that Biggie would of been in DeathRow I still wonder how the hell he was gonna make that happen and how the dynamic would have been 😂😂
That was the plan with Deathrow East.
Apparently the Outlaws and Junior Mafia spoke and Pac wanted to work things out in the end.
Weird
