  • In this video I show you how I used my Inventables X-Carve to make this inlayed serving board. This project looks complicated and yields an amazing result, but is actually very simple! Using EZ-Inlay and some thin CA glue you can generate amazing inlayed pieces in minutes. See below for referral links to the products I used.
    This board will be sold in an auction on my Instagram (@makeeverythingshop) on Wednesday, April 24th 2019, with all proceeds going to the Ronal McDonald House of Long Island. RHMLI is an amazing charity that my family and I have been involved with for a number of years. They help families through some of the hardest times of their lives by providing a place for them to stay while their child is receiving treatment at the nearby hospital. They provide families a room or rooms to stay in, a place for their kids to play and feel at home, and kitchens/ food to allow the parents to make home cooked meals even while they are away. I encourage you to check out RHM regardless, and if you would like to support them by purchasing this board, check my instagram to learn more.

    So in short, your level of skill is that you can find the on/off button to your CNC router. Major, major props.

    What brand of sander are you using?

    Could it be possible to use a blender instead of the steel mortar in order to make the powder?

    while we all know CA glue is super strong, is there any concern with when(not if) it starts to degrade/chip away? cyanoacrylate has a version that is used in the medical world instead of stitches but I thought there were some health hazards with the standard CA?

    What orbital sander are you using? Love the low profile.

    How does the inlay hold up to cutting

    • @woodworker3856
      @woodworker3856 4 роки тому

      It's a serving board, not a cutting board, as per the description. The inlay would hold up terrible to cutting.

    Is there any worry about using the CA glue? Is it food safe? Just curious, I personally wouldn’t worry about it, but I’m sure someone will ask.

      CA glue is used to close wounds. (In a medical setting, not just some guy in a shop using it.) So I'm sure it's fine.
