Nigel we lucked out on the kiln cooling earlier and being able to open it in a beautiful sunshine. Today it's freezing rain. Thank you for filming it and sharing with so many people, what a nice memory to have
Sitting up later than I should, because this is just like Christmas morning watching the kids open their presents! The floating blue on your pinch pot is just beautiful. I love how those streaks came up. I can't pick a favourite, but this one is pretty close! (And that white and blue pot of Izabela's? My vote is a cotoneaster for it. Deep green leaves, white flowers and then bright red berries. Or a cumquat . . .)
Thank you for sharing our joy with us and for your suggestion, I actually have a cotoneaster in the ground now, growing a thick trunk and I love your suggestion for it- Izabela
You’ve made my day, Izabela and Nigel! I was looking forward to this video so much, and It surely did not disappoint! All the pieces are beautiful, I really loved following their making: from the clay to the pot, to the glazing and the kiln. Thank you!
I was eagerly waiting for this pot reveal video. They all look lovely and beautiful. I love the texture and nuances in colors that the glaze made. You guys are wonderful. Isabella is a great teacher and Nigel, you make a good student.
Goodness gracious, Nigel and Isabella… you guys are so talented! Isabella is such a great teacher. The pots and all the other things look fantastic and your trees will definitely find a luxurious home. Great reveal! 🪴💕🪴💕🪴
What a exciting moment to see how all glaze turn out!! For some odd reason I made association to my youth when processing b/w photos.. was the exposure long enough or too much etc.. and here you not sure how the glaze will appear.
What an amazing display ! So many different pieces and stories of artistic vision and experimentation in as much variety. Izabela has a new fan of Gaean Gardens 🤓 Can't wait to see happy trees in your pots, Nigel.
Thank you Donya, I'm glad to hear that. There will be cool videos coming on gaean gardens sharing the creation process of the pots now that they're fired- Izabela
Guys that's amazing! Like woow, It's always so exiting to open up the kiln and see all the treasures inside. Nigel, your pot at 13:50 reminds me of this pinch pot that I once made out of mix clay (like off cuts and things that broke or didn't survive the first firing) it had the most gorgeous swirls and strips in it after firing. Which was a huge surprise because it just looked like a semi brown clay going in.
Turned out nice! You're being well taught. If you saved a season of prunings you could reduce them to ashes - in a kiln firing bisque or just a clean container with a blowtorch - then you'd have a bonsai ash wash/glaze for a bonsai pot. Better yet, save by species and get (say) a larch wash for a larch pot. Endless possibilities.
@@gaeangardensbyizabela I've seen an ash wash derived from copper beech leaves - you need a lot but it works. No reduction in an electric kiln of course but it should still be good. Then after watching Nigel the bonsai application occurred to me.
I love the pots you guys made! I was really looking forward to this video. I think a Hawthorne or Blackthorn might look nice in that green and white pot that Isabella made. Or a cherry koju no mai maybe. Those species have a more rugged trunk and dainty white or pink flowers.
Thank you for sharing that, I enjoyed being able to share this experience with Nigel and I'm glad it was nice to watch. Those are great suggestions for the trees, thank you- Izabela
I was looking forward to the reveal, and it seems everything turned out amazingly well! Great pots :) Right now all I have is pond baskets and normal nursery pots, but I'd love to have more beautiful clay pots, too.
The video I was waiting for, that was absolutely awsome! Loved that last one of yours and loved the white one with the bleu-ish/green-ish blobs. Very interesting results.
So cool how genuinely excited you are. That's a joy to watch. I make pots too and actually thought one day I should send one your way. If you are interested let me know. Great to see you try pottery.
at 6:25 I really enjoyed hearing the sound that the rim of the pot made. Do these type of pots usually have that kind of strong resonance? I'm at a stage where I only use plastic training pots so I'm unfamiliar. Really beautiful and exciting to see the pots come out. Thanks for the share.
Yes, the clay pots, when fired to maturity have a strong sound resonance. The one you mentioned comes from high iron content in the black clay, it has a lot of metal in it. Later on when I take the black pot with with stamped feet you can also hear the beautiful sound it makes- Izabela
@@gaeangardensbyizabela Wow, I love the way they sound! Also, the pots and glaze designs are really beautiful. I'm really looking forward to the day when my trees become worthy of such beautiful pots. I'll be sure to keep an eye on your work. Thank you Izabela

Your round pot looks fantastic!
What fun! So much beauty. I love that the alchemy of clay, glaze and fire produces so many surprises.
Thank you, and some very nice surprises too! 🤗
Those "sand and the sea" -pots would be perfect for Adeniums.
This video was so exciting watch. Not a single ugly item in there.
Her pots are amazing and the glazes so beautiful.

Your flaring round with the triangular feet evokes a sense of ink screen paintings- Distant islands floating on the sea. Beautiful!
Thanks Michael, awesome description!!!
Excellent pots! How fun. Christmas in March.
Thanks Dave! Now the hard part, finding a tree for the pots!
Excellent!
I am really impressed with them pots wow you did a fantastic job ..
Very impressive, all the pots look great. Your big one reminds me of wood grain. I’d be proud of your work. 👏
Those pots are amazing! That African looking one...just wow!
I agree!!!
Wow, the pot at 12:50 is just unique. So beautiful and intresting!
Awesome looking pots, came out really good. This has been a great series, thanks Nigel

What a great, meaningful way to add ash, I never used it in my electric kiln firing, there's still so much to learn- Izabela

A jade would look really nice with some small white flowers in that round pot with the green rim :) really cool seeing all these!

You shouldn't glaze the inside of the bonsai pots.
