El Dorado Single Hop - Juicy, Hazy IPA Homebrew

  • This is an experimental Session IPA brewing video featuring El Dorado Hops and a 5.5% sessionable ABV. This is a juicy and hazy New England IPA (NEIPA) that’s brewed with Clawhammer Supply’s 240-volt digital electric brewing system. The special part about this beer is the El Dorado hops which have high alpha acids (more than 14%) and a pleasant fruity aroma and flavor profile that is reminiscent of pineapple and mango. The grains we used for this recipe are fairly simple, just some Pale Malt as a base and then Flaked Oats, Flaked Wheat, and Flaked Corn for extra flavor and body. This beer also had a longer boil than most, 75 minutes. The yeast we used to ferment this awesome beer was the Imperial Yeast A24 Ale yeast that is perfect for hop-forward beers. This yeast makes its own citrus and floral flavors during fermentation that pair excellently with the flavor and aroma of El Dorado hops. This home-brew recipe makes a beer that you can drink during the day or at night if you choose, it’s low ABV makes it great for any occasion. Check out the resources below for a full recipe, brewing equipment, and an informative article about El Dorado hops.

Great video. Well done. Just wondering if you have any tips for using chest freezer for fermenting chamber? I’ve been using a large refrigerator, but also have a small freezer and was hoping to use that. I’ve heard there is some work required to stop mould growing in freezers. Thanks in advance. PS: From Australia. Love your channel.

We open them up leave the lid cracked ro let em dry when not in use. Also, we periodically spray them down with Clorox disinfectant solution to keep the nasties away

I brewed a similar beer, but with Citra. Kept the same grain bill as for my normal juicy IPA, but did Citra at flameout and 2 dry hop additions. It was real nice - I plan on doing some more single-hop juicy IPAs. Obviously El Dorado and stuff like Galaxy are on that list, but any interesting suggestions?

I want to try this beer. Sounds great for the Summer. I also have been thinking about how to preserve the fruit and juicy notes as described in your website. The thing that came to my mind was whirlpool late addition hops. I've heard it been done to help get maximum hop flavor. Would that be more effective then dry hopping for this beer?
