  • Do you have your priorities straight when it comes to making healthy food choices? What about products for cleaning, grooming, and storing things? Which is more important to you: what you put in your mouth or what you expose yourself to in your environment. In other words, which gets more of your attention: foods or xenoestrogens. Tune into the video tutorial to help keep your priorities straight.

    Thank you so much for making all these amazing videos! I've been watching them all and I've also bought your book. No one seems to know much about the menopause here in the UK (or not that I'm aware of and it's always spoken of in hushed tones!!) so by watching your videos I've been able to decide what's best for me to do. I feel very confident in the decision I've made and much happier than I was and that's all down to you. I changed my diet completely a few years' ago and have never felt better. I used to be ill regularly, but no longer. I'm looking forward to continuing my lessons with you! I love learning new things! Big hugs and God bless you! ps your story about the accident was hilarious!

      I'm thrilled to know that this education is making a positive difference for you. Unfortunately, menopause is neglected in almost every avenue of life. I'm trying to change that, Every woman deserves this education, and she should have it long before she actually has to deal with her menopausal transition. It's a shame that women have not been given the education they deserve.

    Can you suggest some good resources on vegan eating? I have looked and so many are either complicated or not really healthy. Id love to go vegan but I'm not educated or creative enough just to do it. BTW, love your story! That is so good! Thanks for sharing and thanks for all you do! Been watching your videos and ordered your book, I should get it tomorrow.

    • @MenopauseTaylor

      Judy,
      Thank you for appreciating this education.
      I think the easiest way to begin a vegan diet is to keep it simple. Go to Whole Foods and buy "alternative meats" and "alternative dairy products." You'll find veggie burgers, veggie chicken breasts, veggie bacon, soy yogurt, etc. Just buy all the alternative stuff & make all your normal recipes with the alternatives rather than the animal products. That way, you don't have to adopt an entirely new way of cooking at the same time you adopt a new way of eating.
      Get How Not To Die, by Michael Gregor, M.D. It has some recipes in it. Get Forks Over Knives, too.

    I wish more people could see this video and realize how messed up their priorities are. On YT, pampered women and teens in beauty videos insist on their "cruelty-free" makeup while completely not giving a sh*t about abuse, neglect and *actual* cruelty faced by children, women and others in their own communities, as well as all over the world. And I think the questions you ask in these videos are *so* good. Please feel free to answer some of them yourself! It is difficult to find answers to these questions sometimes because the answers skew very differently depending on who is giving them. Thank you! Julie

    Get rid of processed refined junk
    Animal products: I still eat a bit, like fish or seafood
    Go to bed early at 8pm if that helps
    Eat one meal a day or fast

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  4 роки тому +1

      Fasting is one of the worst things you can do as a menopausal woman. Menopause itself slows your metabolism waaaaaay down. A slow metabolism causes weight gain. The more your increase the time frame between meals , the slower it gets. The slower it gets, the more weight you gain.the more weight you gain, the higher your risk for heart attack, high blood pressure, diabetes, and various cancers.
      Somehow, people are buying the idea that fasting is healthy. It's not.

    Great story! The questions you ask in the video really makes one think. I still try to buy organic for the Dirty Dozen and not worry so much with the Clean 15. Processed foods will slow you down (in more ways than one).

    I make very little income and even less now with croanapoclyps and I avoid processed food my dog eats more meat and veggies then dogfood and we can get quality grain free donations of dogfood easily. It's not difficult to avoid processed food for the entire family with a.little determination Now if.only I could get my 57yr old husband to stop eating processed food. Maybe at some point ,he's been really good about avoiding some other bad habits recently

    This was great. I commented on your soy video about just because something says organic does not mean that it is good for you. The marketing for soy, natural, and organic products are deceiving.
    I agree with a lot of the things you said. I am sure this video makes people think. People are like sheep and if those marketing words are on products, people assume said products are better.
    The marketing works.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  4 роки тому

      Marketing and advertising are merely propaganda to induce yo to buy a product. That's why I say, (with regard to menopause), "If there's a product involved, RUN!" Anyone selling anything will tell you whatever will sell their product, no matter how far it is from the truth.

    Beautiful lavender outfit and love the gloves especially! I can't imagine ever going to bed at 8 PM. Its midnight now but we watch you sometimes at 2 and 3 am. We are both born night people. Even while in school I would stay up past midnight. I have had jobs where I had to be there eat 6:30 am still could not get to bed early. But anyway Hilarious story. One of the funniest we have heard! What you say is so true! I have to confess I hate smokers I just cant handle their selfishness not caring if they get other people sick from their smoke. But I know people who smoke who will only eat organic! UGH! hilarious story though! I wont forget it! Your videos are informative and entertaining!

    Dear Dr Taylor, would it seem appropriate after a several months on 2mg estradiol, to cut back to starting dose of 1mg due to pms like symptoms and extreme emotional responses? (Crying easily and frequently, swollen breasts feel bothersome)

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 років тому

      Those symptoms sound like they are due to progesterone, not estrogen. How much progesterone are you taking?
      PMS symptoms are all due to progesterone.
      In general, I think you should taper your dosage rather than halving it all at once. The thing about hormones is that it takes time for them to exert their effects. If you gradually decrease the dosage, staying on each for at least 3 weeks, you'll be better able to determine the perfect dosage for you.

    • @50LOVESIT
      @50LOVESIT 6 років тому

      Menopause Taylor aha! Thank you. It was originally 2.5 progesterone, bumped up to 5 due to breakthrough bleeding, very soon after starting meds.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 років тому +1

      Yep! That much progesterone can definitely cause those symptoms.
      The next thing to consider is whether you're on the cyclic regimen or the continuous regimen.
      Cyclic means that you take the progesterone on only some days.
      Continuous mans that you take the progesterone every day.
      You can take less progesterone if you're on the continuous regimen than you take on the cyclic regimen.

    • @larneyful
      @larneyful 6 років тому

      Is there a video that I have missed addressing cyclic and continuous regimens? It is an issue I am currently challenged by. I have resorted to a sort of botched up combination of both regimes, but am not sure this is serving me as well as it might. Thanks!
