  • Have you ever thought about your health in terms of big industry? Probably not. We tend to think of our health as an individual matter. But, the fact is, you are part of the economy. And, as a part of the economy, your behavior either benefits or hurts the economy. The question is: does the health of the economy benefit or hurt your health? Find out in this video tutorial.

      Of course! It makes perfect sense to me.
      But doctors get not one minute of education in nutrition in medical school. Most doctors will even say that diet has nothing to do with your health. It's not that they're being deceitful. It's just not part of their education.
      Every profession has omissions of education ... especially with regard to menopause. I am currently making educational products on menopause specifically for (1) Fitness trainers and exercise instructors, (2) Nutritionists, (3) Dieticians, and (4) Pharmacists. Believe it or not, none of those professions teaches anything at all about menopause. Yet, they all serve menopausal women. It's inexcusable.

      Menopause Taylor absolutely. What are your thoughts on sugar? You didn’t mention it and feel it is as addictive as heroin and just as damaging to our health.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 років тому +6

      Sugar comes in many different forms. The problem with sugar is just like the problem with everything else. The more adulterated it is, the worse it is. And if we only consumed natural sugars, we wouldn't want anything anywhere close to what most people consider "sweet." Natural sugars aren't sugary sweet.

I think changes in lifestyle can be done, one day at a time but yes it can be achieved. Changes in your diet are not just that. It is a holistic change from what we eat, what we read, watch and even the friends we have to leave behind when their lifestyle crush with yours. I don't regret a beat my changes and now on my 59 I can tell the difference, and I am glad.

    Isn’t it suspicious that the country with the highest dairy consumption (United States) also has the highest incidence of osteoporosis?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 років тому +18

      It's a fact. Here's why:
      You are led to believe that dairy products contain lots of calcium. They don't.
      But, when you ingest dairy, it makes your body acidic. Calcium is wonderful for neutralizing acid.
      But, since dairy doesn't contain much calcium, your body takes the calcium from your bones when you ingest dairy. And that's why countries with the highest dairy consumption have the worst bone health.

I’ve been saying this but friends and family want to argue so I’m just continuing on my vegan journey without them while they mock me as I eat my chickpeas and quietly and contently do my own thing because it’s so hard to get through to people who are closed minded. From a very young age I would become extremely ill from eating red meat or dairy so I’ve always listened to my body and the inflammation from meat and dairy is so deadly to our bodies. It actually hurts but the brainwashing is so strong and people believe the commercials and celebrities. My friend had a heart attack and the nutritionist came into the hospital room and told them well now you’re going to have to change your diet dramatically and drink low fat milk and eat egg beaters so ridiculous. Thank you 🙏 for the most amazing truth and wisdom!!!! 🥰

I.remember my mom dieting unsuccessfully so I knew it might not be a good option for me. I'm learning all kinds of new stuff about nutrition and micronutrients and eating for my "cycle???" And they did not eat 3 square meals a day. Intermittent fasting at its finest. Few milked anything. No preservatives or antibiotics or oth er chemicals to grow the chicken/ turkey breast to comical sizes.
      Meat was only when the hunt was good.

      @panes840 2 роки тому

      OK, scientists, anthropologists and archaeologists have discovered that before the ice age, humans were entirely plant based but, when 70% of the land mass was covered in ice, they diversified the diet.
      When they hunted they killed the lame, the sick and the elderly as humans don't have powerful legs like cheetahs to keep up with herds like a true carnivore. We don't have claws either, but fingers, we don't have carnivorous teeth either and we don't have short intestines like a carnivore either to digest properly. Flesh takes a minum of x4 days before it STARTS to break down.
      Humans are a highly adaptable species and so is their diet but it doesn't mean they eat an optimal diet, so bare that in mind. We adapted, we then stopped roaming and found settlements whereby we housed the odd animal and by which agriculture began. We then stopped the amount of roaming and the amount of exercise because we built settlements, we then also ate more meat due to agriculture and tool creation. The average life expectancy for humans is around age 38 to 47 years but due to scientific advancements, we are now outliving this so,,, where we would have got away with eating meat here and there, we now can't because we are no longer dieing before we get any diseases that take a hold from consuming animal flesh or indees a virus etc thanks to science. We have only been consuming dairy in the last approx 3 to 4,000 years . So not long at all. So, if we are toblive longer and longer, you haveca choice . Keep consuming meat and dairy and be in denial (because you are addicted) and be on pills, suffer mobility issues, gut issues, heart issues, cancer issues, diabetes issues, alzheimer issues, high blood pressure issues, renal failure issues etc etc so you are "existing" longer via pills and potions to keep you alive to you are an old age, or you can "live" longer by eating an OPTIMAL diet with fruits, vegetables, wholegrains, nuts, seeds, legumes and lentils and PLENTY of dark leafy greens and cruciferous vegetables every day, with plenty of sunshine, clean water and adequate exercise, great spiritual and social vibrancy too to keep you fighting fit, vibrant, energetic and full of zest for life or,,,,,,,, not.
      The choice is yours....... to ignore the marketing.
      MT has explained it exceptionally well 👏 👌. Its just "an inconvenient truth" as Al Gore would say and sadly to keep up the meat, dairy, fish and egg industries propaganda and lies and feed billion of people on an over populated planet, billions of animals are being mistreated/barbarically treated and living horrible existences that nature never intended , forests cut down, oceans plundered and pollutted and soils destroyed for growing crops for animals and insecticides, pesticides, herbicides and fungicides are sprayed on crops for what? So wecan have greater yields but at what cost? A hamburger, ,,,, because we are addicted as MT says.

    In our farming community, this is a difficult pill to swallow. We mainly eat ostrich, dear and free range meat. Possibly better than some meat. Our eggs are dark yellow, almost orange from our own hens and vegetables from the garden or the neighbors garden. My man had his heart checked and it is 100%, best cardiovascular results the specialist had seen. Our health as a family is very important to us. We don't smoke or eat junk food, a glass of wine every other night sitting outside on the porch.
    I, however, was a bit of a mess for the last year and a bit.... gaining weight, fuzzy head - really bad, no sleep, dry... everything, crying and getting upset, skin issues, moodiness and, and, and. So, I have followed your lessons and learned so much... I have started HRT and taking herbal supplements and WOW what a great difference. My GP sent me for my mammogram and that's 100% no history of breast cancer in the family either. I can actually remember a few things now, without walking out the room and going back in... LOL. My smile is back and hubby doesn't first peak around the corner at me, before starting a conversation.
    So, now I'm going to trust you further. I need to get the weight off... let's see if my addiction of cheese and meat will make me healthier, if I quit. I really love cheese with anything.
    You are so giving of your knowledge and so clear.... it has truly helped with my hormones, so now let's try the health care. No meat and dairy! Oh greatness... I'm going to need lots of motivation for this one. Thank you for being so wonderful! Wish me luck....I'm going to need it!

      My dear Jenny, you make me smile.
      Remember, this education is "YOUR menopause YOUR way. You get to choose the options that you want to employ. I do not coerce you or have a particular product or angle. I just want you to know the whole truth and the whole story.
      Ultimately, the only opinion that matters is YOUR BODY'S.
      Try some "food experiments."
      For 2 weeks, omit everything with a face (all animal flesh).
      For 2 weeks, omit everything with a mother (all animal products).
      For 2 weeks, omit everything with a face or a mother.
      Find out what YUR BODY likes best.
      Even then, you can choose to eat any way you want. But you will know act your body wants.
      In any contest between your brain and your body you r body will always win. It will get what it wants and make you happy; or it won't, and it will make you miserable.

    I understand all that you said. And I have changed to a whole foods plant based diet a few years ago . First I had a dairy issue for years that I fought with and then meat made me feel bad every-time i ate it. Through all these books that you have recommended the China study and How not to die which I have read already and documentaries about food and Big Pharm wanting us sick because it benefits them. In fact most of the scientific research is funded by the dairy industry, food industries or these pharmaceutical industries and they sway the scientists to form biased opinions or tweak the results somehow. (I know this sounds like conspiracy theories.) Everyone can be bought by these industries, they have multi billions and billions at stake here. Knowing this then you can argue not to that take pharmaceutical drugs such as HRTs and other drugs for menopause because it is supporting a industry that makes you buy into something that you don't really need especially if there are other alternatives as following a plant based diet and other things, like alternative procedures and meds. I'm not sure but see how we as consumers are lost on what we really do need and what are we brainwashed to think that we need so that someone at Big Pham. can make money off of us. Even doctors like you think there are doing a great service to us by prescribing theses menopause meds for the goodness of our better health. I'm not judging you at all, in fact my two daughters are striving to become doctors one day (they are still in school). But we as women feel pressured to taking meds for our menopause because this med will protect you from heart disease, Alzheimer's and osteoporosis but then there is a risk of cancers, blood clots and etc... More confused than ever as to who and what should we believe .

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 років тому +1

      You cannot expect one option to serve all your needs.
      Just because a 100% plant-based diet can prevent heart attacks and cancers does not mean that it can prevent your symptoms of menopause. Food is food; hormones are hormones. Your diet alone will not prevent osteoporosis or Alzheimer's. That doesn't mean you should just forget about eating in a healthy way.
      You just have to know what each option CAN accomplish, and what each CAN'T accomplish. There is no one option that can serve all your needs.
      Extrapolating what I have said here to insinuate that you can use food INSTEAD of hormones is just plain inaccurate. It's not that simple.
      Women who try to use one option for everything often end up in big trouble.

      Yes. Like I said I understand it all. It's just frustrating and fear gets the best of me. After watching the first 6 videos and having no real intention to jump ahead I just browsed over all the titles just out of curiosity of what is coming next when I saw this video which didn't have a sequential number so I decided to see it.
    I believe that almost everything you say is true, however when it comes to milk and meat I believe that it is the way these products have been denatured that makes them bad for us and not because we were not designed to eat them. I come from Greece and I can tell you that the milk and yogurt I grew up with (and everyone else in my country) are very good for our health. Along with lots of lamp they have been in our diet for centuries and we have some of the longest living people collectively.
    It how food has changed and is now man made and man supervised that has made it bad for our health. You can no longer find whole Greek yogurt. Everything made from companies is 2% and 5%. Even the few animals that graze out in pastures graze on soils soiled with aluminum. We need to change the food industry. Food should not be an industry as it is the means of sustaining humans. It should be protected from industry.

All I can think is I heard so much about GMO on grains which I have cut back on. So how much can I make what I eat about 2200 calaries a day on vegetables and fruit. I live in Southern Ontario the only time fruit and vegies taste really good is during the summer. I can get all the fruits and vegies at the grocery store which are imported from where ever but they were shipped unripe to Canada. How good are they really? How can I ensure they have all the nutrients I need? It's a no win situation.

      @@danaprahl1734
      $200 per hour. You choose 1, 2, or 3 hours.
      Here's how a consultation works:
      1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone.
      2) I would send you an email to confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please. You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. You can include all your fears, concerns, and goals for your menopause management. You may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that you would like me to include in designing your protocol. If you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I will give you a 5-day deadline for sending all materials, and will not accept anything after that date.
      3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points out the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU, using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages.
      4) I will send you the document by email 72 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth.
      5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want in order to fine tune everything and determine your best options. I'll tell you exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what you want, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed.
      6) You will go to a professional of your choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever you choose to use.
      7) After the first consultation, I'll hold your hand (forever if you want me to). In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (15-minute or 30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and re-balance their options.
      The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got from the Internet. If your initial hormone regimen is not right, you'll want to consult with me before going to your doctor. I can prepare you for what to expect and what to request.
      So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope you schedule a consultation and let me hold your hand (figuratively).
      I hope to meet you soon!

      This is one of those questions that seems to warrant such a simple answer. But I don't have a simple answer. Here's why:
      I don't "recommend" anything. The purpose of my video series is to give you facts and empower you to make choices for yourself. I do not think any of this is about getting you to do what I do, or selling you on anything. In order to answer your question, I would have to have a one-on-one session with you to learn the details of your goals. Only then would I be able to really answer your question. I'm sorry, but that's the truth. And you deserve more than a "quick fix" kind of answer.
      Nothing is right for all women. The whole purpose is to tailor everything to YOU.
      If you want a consultation, go to MenopauseTaylor.ME to schedule one. I do them on Skype, FaceTime, Facebook Messenger, as well as in-person.
      You can include all the things you want to cover when you fill out the form, and then send me any labs or tests you've had. That way, I can incorporate everything into the session. I'll create a personalized document addressing all your concerns, and send it to you at least one day before our session. That way, you 'll have time to read it in advance. It's usually 6 - 12 pages long.
      Then, I'll have all sorts of props and models to show you during the consultation, and we'll make great headway. You'll understand everything and have all the options tailored specifically to YOU.

      Doctors are not in the wellness business. They're in the disease business. All of medical education is about how to take care of disease. We only learn what "normal" is so that we can recognize disease.
      Do not expect your medical doctor to know anything about nutrition, exercise, or alternative therapies. They are all completely different industries.

    This was very informative! I was told to give up dairy for a year due to sinus problems. It was amazing to me what I had to avoid to accomplish this. I have never been a milk drinker but yogurt was supposed to be good for you. I now occasionally have ice cream or yogurt but they are definitely in the sin category. Thanks for sharing this information, but meat is the hardest to give up. Thanks 🙏🏻

      Nothing is right for everybody.
      But when it comes to the difference between animal products versus plant products, it boils down to "transit time."
      Transit time is the time it takes for food to get from your mouth to your toilet.
      Animal products take a very long time, about 4 -5 days. In the process of slugging their way through your digestive tract, they produce waste products called "free radicals." Free radicals are what cause cancer. They also contain animal fat, which is the kind of fat that clogs our arteries.
      Plants fly through your digestive tract. Ask any vegan, and they'll tell you they have 3 or 4 huge bowel movements every day. And they eat every 2 or 3 hours (which is consistent with the way we all ate when we were babies.) Because of the rapid transit, they have no time to leave behind any waste products.

    Curious about vitamin B-12. Is it found in a plant based diet, or do we need a supplement? :o Also, we evolved with omnivorous teeth.. Is it more of a philosophical problem, as in, we don't HAVE to eat animals anymore, or?

    • @Severienne
      @Severienne 6 років тому

      Thinking about it, maybe it's that early humans HAD to eat whatever they could find, such as meat or fish, as grocery stores with a plethora of cruciferous vegetables were nowhere to be found? ;D

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 років тому +1

      Yes, anyone who eats a100% plant-based diet needs a B 12 supplement. But, that's the only supplement necessary, unlike people who eat animal products. They need all sorts of supplements (because they eat so few fruits and vegetables, which have all the vitamins and minerals).
      We definitely do not need animal products at all. Our teeth should not dictate our health.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 років тому +2

      Absolutely! But doctors aren't withholding information. Doctors do not get any (not even one minute) of education on nutrition. They are NOT in the wellness industry. They are in the disease industry. All of medical education is about fixing you once you're all messed up.
      Part of the problem is that patients don't know this. What we call our "health care" industry is really a "disease care industry." Video 125 will be all about this distinction.
      You could prevent almost all medical problems if you had health education like what I give you here. But our society does not provide that. This is one of the reasons I'm on this mission to educate you.
