    Very informative. Thank you. I have been cutting back on dairy since the dairy tutorial and I do feel a difference. Your correct, it's practically in everything but I've found some delicious alternatives though. Thanks again.

    I gave up dairy years ago and it was a real shock to see everything that contained some form of dairy. I did have 2 Dr s in one day tell my I should become gluten-free and I must say I really do feel better, but I also found I am allergic to corn and a lot of gluten free products have some kind of corn in them. The hardest thing for me to give up was bread! I love it but only rarely eat gluten free bread. Thanks for all you information you share! Thanks 🙏

      Self-experiments to see what your body prefers are good. Once you know what your body wants, you can decide what to do about it.

    This makes perfect sense!! It does take re-education to change the way I eat. Like adopting a new cuisine!😂. I am feeling sooo much better removing dairy and meat THEN re-introducing whole grains (which I thought I was intolerant to). (Cheaper too! Gluten Free products cost a fortune!!)... Thank you Barbie for removing the “smoke and mirrors”👍💐

    I was dx'd w/ Celiac after bloodwork and endoscopy 15 years ago. I also have digestive issues with the consumption of dairy and meat. To top it off I have problems affording the diet I should be on due to my husband's disability, we are on a fixed meager income. Now I've developed the comorbidities of Celiac such as Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. My life will be much shorter than most. I wish there was something I can do about this.

    Gluten free this and gluten free that. It's all marketing. People buy it because it says gluten free.
    Kind of like the new keto rage. People buy products because it says keto. Marketing sells. It is what it is. It shows me that I need to eat what works for me and my gut/body.
    I have done these elimination of food groups and know what I can and can not eat and digest well, what cause me gut pain, or inflammation, etc.
    I did it by keeping a food journal. No testing. I still try to add things slowly knowing that things can change, especially for us in post menopause. It's a lot of work but so worth knowing what works for you and what does not.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  4 роки тому +1

      The best test in the world is to do self-experiments yourself so that YOUR OWN BODY can tell you what it prefers. All it takes is 2 weeks of omitting just one category of food items. No lab test can tell you what your own body can.

    My hubby lost his full head of black hair OVERNIGHT due to Gluten intolerance! It took him a long time to get the diagnosis. So we truly are Gluten free! (He does all the cooking and shopping)

      How did you get to video 114 so quickly? If you watch them in order, you will get soooooo much more out of them. They're like building blocks. If you jump around, I can't promise anything.

    I have a question do you eat gluten ? I wonder is it more processed food that is not good for our digestion like the white bread. You are a great woman.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 років тому +6

      I do eat gluten. My adage is "If it's not broken don't fix it." If people worried as much about avoiding junk food as they do about avoiding gluten, they'd be a lot healthier.

    Thanks Dr. I’m always puzzled by people who eat wheat cereal for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch, and pasta for dinner then complain that they think they are gluten intolerant. Maybe mix your grains! People who eat Asian based diets have rice intolerance. Our bodies need variety💋

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 років тому +2

      The sad truth is that most people who say they're "gluten intolerant" don't know what gluten is, don't know how to determine if they're gluten intolerant, and don't know how to avoid gluten.
      Generally speaking, most people know very little about food, period. They don't know what "vegan" includes or excludes. They don't know the difference between "vegan" and "vegetarian." I could go on and on. It's quite shocking.

    I'm having a hard time deciding. I've eliminated dairy, eggs, meat and for a long time soy & gluten. Based upon your videos, I've reintroduced soy. As for gluten, I've (tentatively) reintroduced pasta imported from Italy. The rumor has it that gluten sensitivity isn't really sensitivity to gluten but to glyphosate which is banned in Europe. Any thoughts, Dr. Taylor?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  5 років тому +7

      Gluten sensitivity is really an allergic reaction to all the junk that is in food as a result of all the processing of our present-day food supply.
      How can it be that for thousands of years, the human race has consumed gluten without a hitch. Only recently has gluten even become a word people know. And that's because we have gotten soooooo far from the real thing with just about all our food.
      The crazy thing is that "gluten-free" foods are even MORE processed than gluten-containing foods. We just keep making things worse and worse. If only we just stuck to foods in their natural forms!

      I think the issue is that we have developed leaky guts from all the additives, preservatives and pesticides in our food. 🙁

    • @annecelliers9112
      @annecelliers9112 2 роки тому +1

      Apparently the ancient wheat was a tall wheat and was fine for us yo eat. They changed the wheat yo a short high yielding wheat and use Glyphosate to dry it. Glyphosate is a patented antibiotic too, and kills, or is harmful to our beneficial gut bacteria, they are harmed. Glyphosate also causes leaky gut according to studies, setting off an immune system response. It's quite a study on it's own. I listened to a documentary by functional medicine doctors and found it very interesting. My husband and I have up gluten, and my depression and brain fog went away, my husband's digestive issues healed.

      I wi; be giving you videos on exercise, but sprinkled here and there throughout the series rather than in one big block. I'll present exercises that are good for the subject matter we're discussing at the time. For instance, when we're on the Heart Attack unit, I'll present exercise for preventing a heart attack, etc.

    How do you feel about Lectin?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 років тому +2

      Lectins are carbohydrate-binding proteins. They are ubiquitous in food, and are not harmful.
      I alway cringe when someone asks "How I FEEL about something," or if "I believe in something." None of this is about my beliefs or feelings. None of it is about trying to get you to do what I do. It's about education ... facts. My goal is for you to learn the facts, apply them to yourself, and choose what's best FOR YOU.

    What is your opinion on vegetable powders such as Dr. Cowan’s garden? A little off topic but you mentioned how wheat had been altered and folks not eating enough plants. Just curious.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 років тому +1

      I don't have an opinion on these particular powders. But I do have a question: Why would you eat vegetable powders instead of eating actual vegetables?
      The closer you can get to the real thing, the better. Everything that is processed is less beneficial than it is in its unprocessed state.

    Very good video! My question is a off topic but I wanted to ask you about medroxyprogesterone 10 mg. for simple hyperplasia. Are you in favor of this treatment?What is your knowledge on this medicine and condition?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  6 років тому +1

      Simple hyperplasia means that the inner lining of your uterus is too thick. It's the same lining that gets thick each month in preparation to fusion an egg should it get fertilized. But, "Hyper" (too much) "Plasia" (thickening) means that it got toooooo thick. And if it stays thick, it can turn into cancer.
      The standard treatment is Medroxyprogesterone Acetate. It causes the thickened lining to shed so that you don[t have to worry about it.
      Your uterus is definitely in favor of this treatment! That's what matters.

    As part of a keto diet to help my diabetes, I've pretty much give up 75% or more of all grains and starches. Not because of gluten, no, it spikes my blood sugar. I eat more yogurt and cheese to help fill me up and don't have any digestive problems. I'd never be able to eat vegetarian because I don't like many vegetables and some truly do cause digestive upset/allergies. That and diabetic....
    I have acquaintances with celiac's disease. My aunt and cousin do it because they think it's better for them.

      The key is to discover what works best FOR YOU. That's why this education is called "YOUR Menopause Management YOUR Way."
      I always say, "The only opinion that matters is your won body's." But you have to listen to your body, endnote your brain.
