I love the story of how the Broke boy came about, the owner seems down to earth and really nice I am happy for him to have made this happen. Those tacos look heavenly ! I have never tried Birria before.
Man, shout out to Mikey! Great job encouraging and empowering him to achieve success!! Had several opportunities to chase my dreams but was too chicken to try. My doubts were “ what if it fails?” Biggest regrets in my life.
Hahaha couldn’t agree with you more Michael- I love tacos so much. He’s got a really inspiring story and we really admire his hustle! Thanks for watching this one 💜 Cheers, Sheena
Tacos!! It's funny that a boy from Kentucky, a state that isn't known for Mexican food, grew into a birria lover. I guess when you cook, you start narrowing in on flavors you especially like. Good interview, Sheena!
i remember ur mexico vids.... what a huge playlist !!! it felt like u went around the country for 6 months, and had the absolut best time and best food ever
7:56 Sheena, you are sooooo good at describing food. Had to stop to say so and now got to get to Broke Boy Taco pronto. Love your vids Thomas & Sheena, you’re putting local food on the map! ❤️🙏
Thanks so much for watching mate! And for your kind words. Hope you enjoy Broke Boy Taco as much as we did. Such a great story and absolutely delicious food. Cheers, Sheena
Hi guys great to have you both back home and what a great start with a tutorial on tacos and specially birria as I knew nothing about them before . keep them coming plz ,cheers Alister in OZ.
Just the right attitude to get on the board with food. He called it the visionary flavor combinations tastes market tap-in. A great story too from Broke Boy from his humbled background.
Wow, you are the Graham Norton of food creator interviews - your silence is their opportunity to tell their story. We all now know Sean and we all are still drooling.
Thanks for watching mate. We really enjoy getting to hear the stories and show them to people via UA-cam. We're so glad you enjoyed this one. Thanks again for watching. Thomas
@@ChasingaPlate I've eaten it accidentally, when I've asked for something veggie and the server/kitchen have made a mistake that I've not noticed, but not deliberately, even when it looks *that* good lol
Sean is such a great guy. It was a really fun day filming this one with him. Thanks so much for watching and we hope you enjoyed the video. Cheers, Thomas
This place and Cielito Lindo are the best tacos I’ve eaten. I’ve had tacos in Equador and Aus but they weren’t as good. Yet to try Tex Mex, Cali Mex and just straight up Mexican tacos yet
Cielito Lindo are awesome! And they’ve been around for so long. They do traditional so well. You’ve got some great taco eating ahead of ya mate. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
We've wanted to eat there for so long (since the pop up days!). Due to a number of factors it never happened until now. So glad we finally got there and got to film! Thanks for watching. Thomas
Thanks for watching 😄 one reason could be that lamb is quite expensive in NZ- a lot of it goes offshore and we pay really high prices. I think for many families it’s a real treat to have it on the dinner table! Cheers, Sheena
Cie-lito Lindo in west Auckland are by far the most authentic and flavoursome tacos that Auckland has to offer, hands down. Sorry broke boy, but you're not quite at the bar of best tacos in Auckland. IYKYK
Cielito Lindo do brilliant tacos! We filmed there a long time ago 🤤 I’m not sure they do birria though? The style of tacos are so different it’s impossible to compare one with the other. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
love the kaupapa of your videos - celebrating Aotearoa local eateries and putting so many delicious places on my food list! that said, it really hurt when you dismissed the important question of another white man selling minority culture and once again removing all the people from said culture - reducing the ancestors of birria recipe and calling them 'haters' for rightly questioning a white man capitalise of their culture felt unnecessary...
Thanks so much for watching and for raising this. Upon reflection I totally agree with you. I could have presented the question/comment in a different way because as you say it’s a completely legitimate question for Sean from people of Mexican descent. Something for me to reflect on and to do better next time! Cheers, Sheena
Broke boys looks amazing but it’s just standard ngl people hype this place up way to much try el cappos street tarcos that’s were it’s at go do a review there and youl see best tacos in Auckland
I disagree. We’ve eaten a lot of birria in Mexico and in the States and the flavour in Broke Boy’s birria more than stacks up. Love that there are more and more spots doing tacos in Tāmaki Makaurau ✌️ thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
I guess it all depends on relation to a Birria Taco. El Capo is dope, anytime im around Stoddard I check if they're there. But slightly different approach. Both are dope in their own way
I'm a pro chef and I agree totally, the tacos here are very white washed and lacking a punch of flavour, I'm sure they're great if you're a middle aged white woman/someone who can't cook, but for the average chef they just aren't all that.
I love the story of how the Broke boy came about, the owner seems down to earth and really nice I am happy for him to have made this happen. Those tacos look heavenly ! I have never tried Birria before.
You’d love it Angie! Sean’s story is so inspiring- what he’s created is awesome. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena

👆this comment here. These guys are naturally great.
“ Toko Taco “ next ? 😊
We need to get there asap- their tacos remind me of ones we ate in Guadalajara a while back. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
Do they do horse tacos?
Broke Boy, Tokos, El Capo. Setting the standard for deliciousness
Saddest ones to the homey Ed rivera aka the only actual Mexican making tacos in Auckland 😂
So neat there are a few spots where you can grab birria now! Thanks for watching Matt. Cheers, Sheena
Toko Tacos will challenge the title
💯 my thoughts exactly
Teme Taco’s wins the title. Especially since they both mean the same thing if you know what I mean.
Tried Toko tacos going to try Broke boy this week seems like the plan
How awesome is it that there are now a few spots serving up epic birria tacos?! 🤤 thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
I've been to both and tokos tacos are way ahead of these guys.. and that's facts! U can ask sonny Jim!
Great story and such tasty looking tacos, it's making me wish I still ate meat lol 🌮

We've wanted to eat there for so long (since the pop up days!). Due to a number of factors it never happened until now. So glad we finally got there and got to film! Thanks for watching. Thomas
I actually had his tacos when he was doing pop ups. His Carne asada and Carnitas are miles better than his Birria.
Omg carnitas 🤤🤤🤤🤤 thanks for watching! Hope you enjoyed the video. Cheers, Sheena
Tumeke Taco 🌮 🌮 ❤❤
Right?! 😆 so good. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena

Great video. Tacos look yummy. The only question is; Is he no longer broke? Because looks like he is doing pretty good.
Thanks for Vicky! We hope he's doing well. He deserves all the success he gets. Cheers, Thomas
I tried the tacos once and i thought it wasnt better than the birria tacos i had at the henderson night market, tbh
Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed the video! Cheers, Sheena
Been wondering what the deal is with this place. Been past it many times and the queue is always bananas.
People go nuts for the birria and we can see why! It’s SO delicious. Hope this video inspires you to try them! Thanks for watching. Cheers, Sheena
Being in NZ, I would think he offer lamb birria as well in addition to beef as OG birria meat is goat.

Every couple of Months Broke Boy does lamb week, it is delicious!!
I dont care about vege or chicken eaters either, (even though i am one myself) Personally, i just want Birria tacos. They are the best.
😆 so good. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
