We knew we had to share Smoke Junction BBQ with you- it is quite simply the best BBQ in Auckland! Owner operator Steve Marsden is super passionate about barbecue and you can taste that in his food- it's a place we'll be returning to time and time again!
What we ate and where we ate it:
Smoke Junction BBQ, 1 Anderson Road, JMJJ+8M 523 Matakana Road, Matakana 0985. Open Thursday to Sunday from midday.

As you know USA gal here🇺🇸 I'm totally all the way with the brisket. Looks great. If you are heading further North. On SH1 try the BBQ place past the end of the 4 lane extension just before Dome valley. There's a seafood restaurant there as well, recommend the whitebait fritter. As you go further divert via Mangawahi, the BBQ hut does a good BBQ (Brisket in fry bread yes!) and you must try Cow Shed pies
