People of high calibre are leaving the city in droves to the bigger cities in Australia, and they are replaced by less qualified migrants. No one goes to the CBD anymore cos it's too difficult to find a place to park the car, lanes are being reduced to single to make way for buses and bikes, shops are closed down due to constant road closures for the unnecessary underground railway development. What westies are u talking about? Everyone I know is pretty regional here connecting all over Auckland and interested in the overall picture. Lived here all my life. Only people I know like what you describe are generally the elderly. Fuck all jobs or study places out here most go to central, north or south, as evidence by our choka trains - if they're running but prepare to hug someone and buses - WX1 on the NW you better have your monkey bar skills up to scratch so you can swing about whilst a standee - great workout, and motorway with 4-5 lanes all the way that still gets gridlocked. Also don't try cycling or scooting unless u don't mind bottles hurled at you and being shouted at or run over. Nice path along the motorway but good luck getting to it. Surprised there are as many brave souls as there are on there frankly.
Not to mention the Southern rail line. When it's running taking the train to Puhinui & electric bus to the airport is actually pretty good. Better than the absurd idea of slow light rail right to the airport. But then they close the Southern line for a whole six days over Kings Birthday weekend to do line work. Imagine the outcry if the London Tube closed the Piccadilly Line for six days.

Also If You Can Tell Me A Roast About Devonport (Or Just The North Shore)
I did a video in Devonport last week, I was threatened, swore at, had kiwi fruit thrown at me, and was hassled by the police for 37 minutes. Haha video up now.
I came into this thinking “I will only tolerate Auckland slander from an Aucklander” and I was not disappointed. Man knows his shit.
i have rats on the inside

I'm an Aucklander and actually quite like it here, but that was still a very accurate summary lol
How do people hate auckland so much, I really don't get it. Auckland is such a beautiful city with the most beautiful nature surrounding it.
@@luminisant I think it's just a cultural universal to hate on the biggest city in a country. But yeah for real Auckland is solid, the climate is good, the beaches are excellent, the food is excellent, and the public transport is non-existent. You can't win 'em all!
@@IsThisHandleTaken 😂😂😂 facts
3:29 I moved around Auckland quite a bit but that’s literally a shot of the road that leads to my house💀
Sorry my old house
The CBD was to accurate, especially queen street and wynyard.
Nz is like 90% vape stores and convenience stores selling pies
As a whangarei resident, can confirm this represents auckland pretty well
Ahhhhh Home 😊
People live in auckland

"Orewa has an Edmund Hilary statue, even though he has nothing to do with the place." LOL
Been here 3 months and this video is accurate 💯😂 planning to move back to Australia
Intelligent informed engaging visually appealing well articulated and pronunciated ... very Kiwi 💯🌟
love how West Auckland was never touched upon, but that's good because we don't consider ourselves part of Auckland
I commented pretty much the same thing and then found that you'd already said it. West is Best
Calling NZ “car dependent” is rich coming from an Australian.
Try using public transport anywhere outside Sydney or Melbourne. Good luck
He’s not wrong though.
MY HOUSE WAS ON THERE, DA HECK
Is this New Zealand's capital? Looks quaint and peaceful
Brutal lol!
You definitely cheer up people alright 👍 👌 make me wanna go back to mount Duitt 😂😂lol love your stuff Wes 👍
As an American, based on this video, I'd move there
Don't.
You can stay, we don’t want you.
-How shaky do you want this?
-Yes.
I had too many coffees
SOUTH AUCKLAND RULES 👏🥹
Well done, you’ve done a very accurate review! 😂
As a Maori who knows Auckland very well.. it indeed does suck.. if you like the fast paced lifestyle, Auckland may just be your cup of coffee
BRo :L : L :L Lmao Agree agree hahahha
Not to mention the Southern rail line. When it's running taking the train to Puhinui & electric bus to the airport is actually pretty good. Better than the absurd idea of slow light rail right to the airport. But then they close the Southern line for a whole six days over Kings Birthday weekend to do line work. Imagine the outcry if the London Tube closed the Piccadilly Line for six days.
