Just finished rewatching it and it’s perfect. This soundtrack perfectly encapsulates that deserted, desolated feelings the movie permeates under its gothic, humorously dark façade. It’s heartbreaking and the soundtrack does wonders to show this, ultimately Norman at this stage was also like that dry Californian landscape: surrounded by absolute nothingness except delusional beliefs.
I always felt the theme was in stark contrast to the original film, which was urgent and sharp. Psycho III started out stark and desolate. Truly a unique vision. Not outright scary but certainly had its wicked moments.
RIP Anthony Perkins. The one and only one Norman Bates.
Gorgeous theme. Highly underrated sequel. Dark and creative.
I respect this movie for doing its own thing sound wise instead of just rehashing the same psycho (1960).
"Hey......watch the guitar "
"You gave her cabin, ONE!!"
I love all four of the Psycho movies.. this is my favourite out of them.. always felt sorry for Norman especially in part 2 as he was sane.
