- Anthony Perkins talks about the Psycho Movies and gives a behind the scenes look of Psycho III.
From Psycho III (1986): Anthony Perkins stars in and directs the most shocking Psycho film of all. Norman Bates, the psychotic owner of 'Bates Motel', lived with the corpse of his mother. A stint of curiosity evolves, when people who had visited his motel went missing. Was he responsible for it?

Anthony perkins such an amazing actor & such a sad loss aswell
@James Henderson what's your fucking point?
Psycho 3 is really underrated - Perkins did a great job with the directing
I love it. I enjoy it more than Psycho 2.
"I just won't be staying around too long."
"No one ever does."
100% He did a great job 👍. So dedicated of being Norman Bates that’s untouchable Forever!
@@Boxingbear I like it but the nun subplot was a bit much and too much of a stretch I think.
Psycho III is a gothic masterpiece. Perkins didn’t get the credit he deserved for it. The (theatrical) score is brilliant as well.
Theatrical score? What is that mean?
@@splintergectornathan9045 theatrical score means and refers to the music composed specifically for the film.
@@scottrose220 the reason why i asked is because commonly its naming as "Original Soundtrack" which means pretty much the same as yours "theatrical score"
September 2003 all 4 films coming to limited boxset on 4k and blu ray boxset s
Anthony Perkins was amazing in all Psycho films.
Beautiful talented Anthony Perkins. I love him.
Psycho 3 is one of the best movies I've ever seen.
Superb from beginning to end- and with a great music score.
I just finished it!!!
I Love Anthony Perkins & Norman Bates. 👍👍
David Taylor me too he’s so sexy
Me three 👍👍
@@alishataylor6017 aids ain't sexy
Anthony Perkins slight build really helps for the role of Norman. Makes him seem less intimidating even though he's a psycho.
Anthony Perkins was the only one who could direct such a movie. He indeed was Norman Bates. Psycho III is a great movie. Actually I think Psycho is the only horror film series where all the sequels are great and done with respect.
estoy totalmente de acuerdo. Anthony Perkins fue grandioso en sus películas psicosis✔
Many thanks for posting this. And in HD, too. I didn't realise they made a "behind the scenes" featurette for Psycho III like they did for Psycho II. Interesting comments from Perkins, Green, Scarwid and Fahey...I think Green must have been referring to a bloodless version of Psycho III before the studio sent them all back to insert the gore. Love Perkins framed by the house. This is quite a find (well, for me, anyway!).
Perkins was brilliant
Nothing compares to you, Tony❤️
Anthony Perkins was a hunk.
. So handsome.
Tony Perkins was never awarded an OSCAR, it is a shame, he was a gifted and versatile actor, not only Norman Bates "for a lifetime", he also had a great singing voice, directed plays onstage. so underrated..
Last of Shelia a good one
Norman Bates is the only slasher villain in the world to not only get off scott free, but also get his life back together.
The Psycho trilogy is a really solid series. All good in their own way and unique from each other.
Its actually a quadrilogy with part IV, the beginnings. Which is device driven but still a good movie that adds a little bit to the story. To me its the best "slasher" franchise, didnt get bogged down with inifinate sequels.
Not a trilogy. Psycho 4 The Beginning is a great entry and close to the series.
Not a trilogy you buffoon. There are 4 movies
Anthony Perkins was an awesome actor. Loved him in Bates Motel and in Mahogany also stirring Diana Ross. He could just put fear in you. If you didn't know better, you'd really think that he is nuts.
@Greg Hubbard it's not lame, it's honestly a pretty good interpretation of Bloch's Psycho world.
Ummm Anthony Perkins wasn’t in Bates Motel
Anthony Perkins was phenomenal! _NO ONE ELSE_ could’ve played Norman Bates like he did! That character belonged to him. Freddie Highmore, in my opinion, is the only other actor today who was able to portray him in modern day. Bates Motel was an amazing show. I think Anthony would’ve been proud!
Yes
Khairil Idzuan I think the main reason Freddie Highmore was cast as Norman Bates was because he looked very similar to Anthony Perkins.
Anthony Perkins was an excelente actor. no one could do Norman Bates.
NO ONE ELSE✔
@@susanaarbocco1474 Freddie did a better job, in my opinion.
You’ll never top the original, but for the most part, imo, I thought P III was pretty good.’
Wow all those old antiques.
Norman Bates character is already a legend, it should be immortalized in a video game. Mortal Kombat should include him as their character!
More likely: Dead by daylight ! 🙌
Duke: "scratch my belly and my leg'll shake".
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭👍👊😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I hated the mutt
I like psycho 2 because story was unpredictable.
Abhilasha i love psycho 2 one of my favorite movies
The story was very predictable in Psycho 2.
Great slice of Psycho history. Thank you for posting.
Anthony Perkins was a great actor, just sad he died young. He reminds me and looks of someone in between Harrison Ford and Roy Scheider.
First like
Freaking love Anthony Perkins
love Freddie more!
Yeah he too is a gem😍😍
DOCTORESS HOUSE, "THE 1ST / 1 & ONLY (Hitchcock original) Norman Bates", Anthony Perkins- My all-time favorite actor!!!!;-)
His wife was one of the passengers on the doomed flight 11 aa which crashed into the wtc
As a Psycho III fan, WHY WASN'T THIS ON THE BLU-RAY? Great stuff. Thanks for the post.
MusicInMySoul80 Scream factory has already released a Blu-ray on this a few years ago
Eastwood’s production designer and cinematographer make it better than usual good BTs making of.
i love videos like this to see how these movies are made love seeing how happy Anthony was making these movies you are very missed and we love and respect the great talent you were I love this movie and all psychos cause they were all different and unique and entertaining each time one of the greatest horror franchises of all time I thought the soundtrack to this film was pretty good to

All the handsome ones r gay 🤣😂
MAN DO I LOVE THIS VIDEO. DEFINITELY 2 THUMBS UP 👍👍
She was great on Mommie Dearest and in this movie. Anthony Perkins has done very well too.
Wow thanks for uploading m. Anthony Perkins was a great man and actor.
Rip Anthony Perkins
His voice❤
Does anyone know the name of the song that's playing in the car when Duke picks up Maureen? I don't think it's on the soundtrack.
They say you can see Anthony Perkins Ghost in the old bates motel at the universal studios lot.
Unfortunately I don't believe that the original house still exists.
As far as I know it sat in the original location (in original condition)until 1975 or 76. The porch was extended around the sides of the house, and the second window on the ground floor was added ( and it remained that way for the rest of the series)
Around 1980, Universal repurposed the original lot, and "disassembled" the house.
Universal graded a new lot, and used matte paintings to recreate the settings, when the second film was announced
The same house has been used since part 2. The house in Orlando is a replica of the house in Cali,
Yet, when they went to build the set for "Bates Motel" they found that the existing houses weren't in the same scale as the studio blueprints.
That, coupled with the house being MIA for at least a year before the filming of part 2.........
AND Mr Perkins refers to recreating the sets and interiors at the 5 minute mark
But, it is a wonderful, creepy thought
on one hand, i can see that. He was attached to Norman and felt this movie hurt his career. on the other, i hope he is in a better place at peace with his wife.
@@kurtbarlow9402 love the OG Bates mansion and hotel
@@magacaleb4763
I'll be starting my 1/4 scale shed in the spring, no second window on the ground floor, like the original
@@Fitover40journey I hope she dumped his aids cheating ass
i love Anthony Perkins
I love these movies classics☆
Great actor
His voice is way higher pitched than Norman Bates', I had no idea he was putting on a voice to play Bates
I noticed that, too. But I think that is more the quality of the video because Diana Scarwid"s voice is also higher pitched than usually is.
RIP Anthony Perkins 💔💔💔
Does the first scene featured in the trailer still exist?
Anyone knows the name of the voice over person?
Anyone hearing Steve Buscemi in Jeff Fahey?

Anthony 😍my big crush
Perkins was so cute.
"I'm so sorry. I'm sure I left the bathroom a mess...
"I'ts all good.
I've seen it worse..."
Perkins real self is alot like the character
the anthony scenes were the only ones worth watchin in the movie lul
He resembles bush
The good old days, those days without the internet, social media, i phones, apps, Netflix, texting, digital downloading, DLC, Blu rays, Justin Bieber, no distractions of any kind. Just you watching this film without looking at anything else. The more I watch this the more I hate today's lifestyle people always staring at their phones.
Batesmotel1960 I agree with you.
Yeah it's so great to live in the 50's as a teenager
Your good ol' days was full of racism!

Do you think you could ever post Norman and Maureen's date scene
Norman bates vs brock lesnar
Still haven't see it yet heard its possibly better than psycho 3 young actor play as look like freddie highmore as norman in bates motel but have check out
Oh and psycho and psycho 2 my classics favorites psycho 3 is kinda bland and not bad sequel i see not best trilogy
What about the Fourth One?
In my opinion, the films' quality correspondingly lessens with each successive sequel, and IV is by far the worst. I quite like Psycho II, which i'd give (***1/2) There was no way this first sequel could have come anywhere close to equalling the original (*****) directed by the Master of Suspense, Alfred Hitchcock, but II was an honorable effort that had a great cast, a pretty solid script. some genuine suspense, and a very credible director, Richard Franklin, who met Hitchcock as a young film student and was invited to watch filming on some of Hitchcock's late 1960s productions.
III (**1/2) was a significant drop from II, partly because there's very little suspense-we know from the start that Norman (at the end of II) has gone psycho again and will inevitably start dressing up like Mrs. Bates and killing people again. Perkins directs himself almost as a parody of the character, going way over the top compared to his effectively nuanced performance in II. The film is replete with dark humor that is more pathetic than funny and there's very little character development, with several of the murders excessively violent and aping the trashy atmosphere of a typical 1980s slasher film. To be fair, the studio pressured Perkins into adding more gore and a silly "shock" ending, but the basic faults are in the script.
IV (*1/2) is an abomination-a basic cable movie that Perkins clearly did primarily for the money (understandably given he had been diagnosed with AIDS and would pass away less than 2 years after IV). IV has a patently absurd premise, a weak script (yes, by the screenwriter of the original Psycho, but that hardly guarantees quality 30 years later), that basically ignores developments in II and III, and except for Perkins, the acting is distinctly unmemorable. Avoid at all costs the awful 1987 TV pilot film "Bates Motel" (*)-not to be confused with the more recent A & E series-and Gus Van Sant's 1998 remake is fairly pointless (**).
Well kinda like psycho it not best of series but has nice twist and how Norman try poison her which she pretty much got she what gets
I think Diana Scarwid would still have rather faced Norman Bates than Joan Crawford! 🤪
🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
Psycho 2 was good, the ending was dumb but the rest of the film was ok.
Psycho III was kind of boring for the most part part but the last 30 minutes were well done.
1:12 and that is why the scene was lame and not scary at all except for the music!
all should have been in black and white
uh, no.
"THERE IS NO GOD!"
Good thing antony Perkins been 3 sequels antony Perkins play as norman better than god awful piece of crap remake at least that didn't have its sequels
yeah, the remake's not that bad.
he sounds weird
