Hi, welcome back!!!. This modality of M.2 NVME mini NASES are intriguing, like the one by QNAP, but I still believe (maybe a little old ) I like the idea of being able to change and add drivers from the front. I am dreaming to a normalization of the U.2 format.
Thanks for the video - I have installed the F8 SSD using two SSDs (4 TB and 2 TB) - as JBOD. I have attached the NAS to a MacStudio over a 10 Gb network. Spped Test shows similar speed like you have. Copying is already quite slow from within the network and the big disappointment is using it via Capture One: it looks like the RAW files would be on good old floppies. There must be something wrong there...
So first, I would not setup as JBOD, I would choose RAID 0, it will give you the full space and will give you better speed on read and write. As far as file goes, RAW images are smaller chunk files compared to video files and they have a tendency to transfer slower. I'm not sure the speeds that you are seeing but with RAID 1 it should not be that bad.
@@ArtIsRight Thank you for your answer. I have tested all RAID configurations but this did not change anything. It really looks like smaller files are the problem. With Capture One you may have thousands of accompanying files - at least 3 or 4 times the number of RAWs in settings and thumbs and previews. So this is not a cool solution for my purposes. I wonder how QNAP deals with it, since it works perfectly well there. Very large files for videos ok, but not for this…
Thanks for the heads up on this NAS. Is there any way to contrast and compare some NVMe NAS offerings from TerraMaster, QNAP and say, Asustor? Also, which NVMe are likely to be a best bet for NAS use. I do have an NVMe NAS presently which works well for my purposes but the TerraMaster is far more how I would have designed such a unit save for the screws. Truly tool-less would have been great but not a deal breaker.
Hm... would need to check on some of the power requirements to see if it could run well off of DC or USB PD, but something like this could be great for RV/vanlife/nomad creators where the standard spinning drives are not an option.
Can you please do another video on how to calibrate the MacBook Pro M2 16 inch with a built in liquid retina XDR display newest version MacOS Sequoia 15.0.1. I am using the calibrate display plus HL. If you could I would be forever grateful. I've watched so many of your videos trying to figure this out I am a photographer trying to do professional wall art prints and the photos are coming back from the pro lab different than they are showing on my monitor. Thanks a ton for your consideration.
Thanks for sharing. But is there one NAS for NMVe (and Raid) with Thunderbolt ?? I work with RAW video high end file for color correction and need the fastest MB/s possible, and big capacity. Thanks
Yes and no. Yes, in a way it is only 10 GbE, not in the sense that most won't really using all of that bandwidth all the time, but I do hear you. There are 25 GbE but way too expensive with huge hardware at the moment.
Most general users would be very happy with 2.5g. Last week received entry level f2-223 and satisfied for the promotional price, compared currently using 12 yrs wd ex2. Good video, friendly, clear and simple straight to the points. 👍💯
It’s good to see you back, Art: you were missed during your break!
Thank you so much, it won't be as frequent as before but we'll get there.
Great seeing you again! Waiting on your review of the SW242Q
Thank you!
Thanks for this. I think it's exactly what I'm looking for. Welcome back!
Thank you!
happy you are back, I just bought the BenQ PD2706UA , your videos were very helpful getting that calibrated
Thank You!
Woohoo, a new Art video!!
Thank you!

No Thunderbolt, no purchase. Das is best for video editing, not a Nas.
Thanks for the video!
Tell teramaster and not necessary, depending on the video and I did put that caviat in the video.

Good to know, I did a comprehensive, photo and video transfer but then my overall needs are different.

I would love to do that, the issue is getting them to send me a unit to test out. Let me see what I can do...
Art can you post the link to which 3rd party heat sinks your using
Thanks
That would be smart ;) here you go www.amazon.com/dp/B07KDDKDNN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

There you go. The brick is a 12V - 6 amp - 72-watt brick.
Could you please verify the functionality of connecting three computers to the Terramaster F8 SSD Plus by utilizing each of its USB ports?
you can't this is not a DAS, all interface and access points to the network port
64TB not GB... in description.. great video
Thanks for catching that

I would look at OWC for that solution, they have a few. But you are maxed you at around 2800 MB/s TB limitation and all.
@@ArtIsRight thank you very much

A pity there is no TPC or TOS from Terra-Master for MAC OS . so what do you use instead. if you have the new MacMini ..... and the D8 Hybrid...
not sure I understand, you use the browser to navigate the OS and finder to access the files.
Nice, but I have no idea why these NAS, drives don’t include a 40Gb USB C connection.
NAS not DAS
Can you review - Asustor Flashstor Gen 2 - when it is out?
If they send me one, sure
Benq monitor side white colour and the screen show previous picture when the open moniter please reply me?
not a video related to the question ask, the quesiton is unintelligible - needs rephasing and contact your local BenQ Support for help on this.
As hot as NVMe's get, I can't see those rubber bands lasting too long. Not a great idea on TerraMaster's part, IMO.
With you on that one, I think if you don't touch it, it should be ok, but in putting them on the NVMe Blade, I did break a few.
How much does it cost to?
799.99 with 100 off launch intro pricing
Thanks, the network is the new bottleneck.

not a single performance test, LOL
read and write test, but there are others who review this that you can watch
