Farmhouse Gnome Pattern - How to Make a Gnome Sewing Pattern

  • Oh my goodness, I'm SO excited to bring this new gnome to you! It uses the Scandinavian Sweeties pattern so it has tons of extras and options, but most importantly, we are going to permanently bend the hat with NO WIRE!
    If you sell gnomes, this is a great pattern because no wire will ever "get lost" in the body. Even if the hat comes off, the finished product looks great and is easy to reattach.
    I'm proud of this farmhouse gnome, can you tell? This is my most thought-out and requested gnome pattern in the history of ruffles and rain boots.

    Sarah, he is adorable! Thank you for sharing your creativity, ideas, hints, shortcuts and talents with all of us! I am in need of a new sewing machine; may I ask for recommendations?

      I love my Brother, only because it's EASY. :) I tell it which stitch to make, type the number, and then it does it (though, honestly, I use the same straight stitch 90% of the time). The (updated machine) link to mine is below.
      There might be quite more experienced sewists in the Facebook group who could give much better insight.

    I have seen similar ones that are around 3 ft. Tall that wear dresses, etc. Do you have a pattern for those also?

    • @SarahNenniDaher
      @SarahNenniDaher  3 роки тому

      Most of the larger ones I have are built on tomato cages. I do plan on sharing the method I've been testing for the larger gnomes next year (I like to test things for stability and durability before sharing them).
      I'm also trying to limit the number of power tools I use which is why it's taken a bit longer than I like.

    When we buy the pattern, de we get the button or do you sell them also?

    • @SarahNenniDaher
      @SarahNenniDaher  2 роки тому

      No, the pattern is a printable download (Immediately available after purchase). The buttons I ordered from a shop on Etsy (totally different from my pattern)

    He was AMAZING!!! Like how do you come up with these patterns??? Did you go to school for something like that? I ask only cuz throughout your tutorials you always say you’ve tested the pattern or worked hard on a pattern so I’m just wondering how you come up with these things....

    • @SarahNenniDaher
      @SarahNenniDaher  3 роки тому

      I draw a lot, so they all get sketched first. :) Then, I just start building and make about three versions to come up with the easiest ways to do something while still getting the look I want.
      And school? I have two business degrees, so DEFINITELY not using those for this. LOL

      Oh my goodness, aren't they great? I buy them from a shop on Etsy (this is the best one I've tried so far) who can do them custom for anything you want. rufflesandrainboots.com/go/custom-buttons/

      You can try cones - I would use the hat, mitten, and feet from the pattern and place this on a paper maché cone (maybe 7 inches) wrapped in fleece or whatever fabric you're using. :)
