Very cute as always !!!! I love my hook turning thing !!! I don’t know how you use it but here how I do . Put leg on the rod ,poke hook out other end hook some fabric and make sure the bar like thing goes up when you start to pull. I also fold in some of the fabric in before I start to really pull on it . Hope this help you a little !!

I use Styrofoam cones, paper maché cones, Styrofoam eggs, Styrofoam balls, pool noodles, and fabric bodies. I'm one of those crafters who doesn't like doing the same thing over and over, so I'm constantly changing it up. :) What do you like to use, Christine? The cones?

The detail tip helps to mirror the sewn look and works better for me when doing detail work. That said, many people use their full sized guns (I am sort of messy when I do and found the detail is better for my heavy handed gluing).

You could make the shoes and cut out the portion in the middle in a U-shape. Then, thread a thin, satin ribbon through them.
