I keep my mold on a cheap hot plate burner from Walmart. For $10 It keeps the mold warm for perfect pours. Play around with your heat settings until it’s right for you. I use mine just below the medium setting. I also use a cast iron ladle because it holds heat better. You could also pour the weights first with just some short wire strait from the pot. Then just remove the wire, add to your bouncers and either crimp the lead or do a small Z turn in the wire to hold it in place. Hope this helps

Nice video. I use hot wax to to keep the rods from slipping on my large mold. Burns off and I know the weight placement will be perfect every time. Hotter the metal and slower prep has always worked for me. 👍

prop a bbq grill up on some blocks high enough for the wires to clear your bench then set the mold so all the wires fit between the bars. i agree also that a bend in the wires will help hold them in place. also a bolt and wingnut or some type of spring loaded clamp on the handles helps keep the mold closed. one more thing, everything has to stay hot hot hot! so an assembly line process works best for me. hope this helps.

sorry for one of my coments, now I have seen that You use lubricant yet.
What helps me with the botom bouncers, for a better hold at the wire is take a tong or pliers and make a Z shaped bend into the wire so that it fits into the cavity.
Place the bend in the wire at the point from the botom of the lead weight this helps to prevent the wires gowing down and keeps it on place and give more stability.
Sorry again, but keep children out of the area and Your dog too.
Molten lead is so hot and it causes dramatically burning.
Beware them of the fumes, and no one would say this would happen, but it could happen the dog could jump around and the melting pot would fell over, no one would like to thik about this.
Once in the past I was lead pouring on my balkony an the pot fell over, in the last parts of a second, i could jump away with my chair I was sitting on, so nothing bad happened at me but almost ten pound molten lead splashed at the bottom.
This moment made me think about safety. Please be save!
