    I love the design of this space! So cool! For full time living I agree about the areas of extra space being used differently. I’d leave the kids space upstairs but as an adult I’d make the living room the adult bedroom and the sitting space the living room.

    Beautiful space . Love the way they converted that ole garage into this well designed mini oasis !!! I would want the bedroom downstairs closer to the bathroom. Make the upstairs into a yoga meditation loft !!! So happy it's doggo friendly !! Great find #tinyhouseexpedition 👏👍🌿🏡🤍

    This house has such a stylish charm! I loved it. It’s layout is really good and seems so spacious for being a small place. There’s something about it that gives a certain kind of feeling that is unique and different.

    That definitely would be my dream home! They did a great Job! I agree with your ideas to make it permanent. You could consider a spiral staircase too, that would free up floor space. Also, possibly consider converting the living room space into a bedroom with a half wall/headboard/dresser which would maintain the open concept space. The Garage door is definitely a keeper. Love it.

    I love this beautiful creative space. So any great aspects, the garage door, the hands, the tiles in the shower, the wall papered door for the bathroom, the hanging space, not sure what I don’t like about the beautiful creative home. I really love it.

    I love so many things about this home, including the decor and the doggie door. The shower is one of a kind!
    The living room is stunning. But for me, I would probably turn it into the bedroom so it is on the same floor as the bathroom. And use the flex space as the living room. Upstairs would become the flex space...office...storage...guest area, alternative place to chill.
    Your ideas to make the kitchen more functional would be perfect too.

    Fabulous! And HOOKS rule! 😂 Funny…I just installed 6 hooks over the last weekend in places where they were needed. Game changers! Such a simple solution. This home is a terrific option and one that hadn’t occurred to me as I plan my upcoming retirement into a tiny style home from my 2K sq ft home. Beautiful

    I"d take out the fireplace and move it to the living room under tv. Id add shelves behind the couch.. Then i would take out the garage door... wrap the kitxhen around to enlarge it.. put in a real dining table (side against the wall could be a storage bench seat.).. then id put an office and window where the fireplace used to be. Where the doggy door is, id put a real door (with a built in doggy door)... outside that door id put an outdoor small seating area.. then id put an outdoor grill and patio table and chairs on the concrete area. I agree with laundry and closet built under the stairs .. as well as the on demand hot water..

    Beautiful as-is, but I would take both sides of the kitchen to fill out the kitchen. I'd take out the kitchen sink & replace it with a wall-oven and cabinetry underneath for pots, pans and bakeware.
    Then I would build out the other side for the sink, glass stovetop and bigger prep area, along with a tall cabinet for brooms and such. The "flex space" would then be the dining room.
    I loved your ideas for turning the water heater closet into a coat closet (or pantry) and using the 2nd "bedroom" for clothes & other storage.
    This is really a beautiful place and I loved all the imaginative art and fun pieces sprinkled throughout the space, especially the shower tiles and towel holder.
    Thanks for this great video. You both did a great job.

    A lot of creativeness went into making the upstairs unique. I'm loving that trampoline for increasing the bedroom space and also for not blocking the view downstairs which adds a feeling of spaciousnes to the bedroom. One thing I've never seen in a loft space where there isn't enough vertical space to stand up without one's head touching the ceiling is actually a very simple solution to navigating around the area without bending down, squatting or crawling. Just put a desk chair that moves on casters at the entrance/exit of the room. You can sit in the chair and "walk" around the room that way. I know that sounds odd but as a person with 40 years of back problems, I know that my back would be grateful.

    I'd prefer to keep the downstairs "as is", but what about replacing the fireplace wall area with a murphy bed that becomes a DESK in the daytime? And yes, a window would be perfect. For the murphy bed / desk, could you use a "double size bed" or "3/4 size bed"? Would that allow enough space for a window above this smaller bed? It makes sense to sleep on same level as the bathroom. Upstairs could be used for storage and meditation, as already mentioned. Thanks for sharing this simple and gorgeous space.

    • @TinyHouseExpedition
      @TinyHouseExpedition  Рік тому +3

      Love the Murphy bed idea! Most seem to come with full size mattress size which definitely gives you some solid extra space in that room 👌

    • @estherstephens1858
      @estherstephens1858 Рік тому +1

      Yes, I’ve seen Murphy beds that are not “vertical “. They are opened like a book, so to speak. However, I’ve never seen that specific (open like a book)Murphy bed/desk but that’s the beauty of the Murphy concept you can make them however you need. I love your idea though.

    • @lifeofjoy9404
      @lifeofjoy9404 Рік тому

      Murphy-tize everything!
      I agree with the ideas about utilizing the Murphy Bed concept wherever possible, and would like to suggest some kind of wall-mounted counters to use as workspaces or dining options. I'd also replace the garage bay door with a lovely glass single door and sliding window, and add cabinets and countertop along that wall.
      As for anyone who plans to include infants and small kids in their lives or to have them as guests: projectile puking & pooping, weeping kids often need to be carried between bed, bath & tub! Include a ground floor bedroom with enough space for a parent with a tired, aching back to easily & quickly ferry soiled kids & laundry to & from bed, bath & laundry, and make to easily make the bed (again). A bathtub or utility sink is a must for soaking & rinsing soiled linens, throw rugs & kids!! That said, families need separate washer & dryer units! The wash/dry machines take FOREVER, and are noisy. Sheets, towels, blankets & cloth diapers require a FAST turnover time! Seriously.🤮
      I speak from a nasty experience: Wedding/Rental cabin/Yosemite/Salmonella.

    Awesome place. I’m not much for heights so there wouldn’t be much use for the “not a trampoline,” but I guess it could stay. I’ve always loved Chesterfield sofas so if I was living full time the sofa would be switched. Kitchen island is a pretty good idea as well as the water heater. Bottom half of closet for coats, maybe split bottom in half again and create a little niche for boots. Top half=shelves for pantry. Wondering if just one of the barrel chairs would fit in with the sofa. If not maybe a more streamlined chair . That way you could have that whole reading area for something else. It’s hard to know without seeing the layout in person. Lots of ideas but they probably won’t fit.

    Flipping the L of the couch to the window wall would open the traffic pattern. It would be very tempting to put an array of Natural Edged floating shelves on the window wall wrapping to the other wall to highlight the woods outside and give you the illusion of the trees coming into the space.
    The dog door going out onto a covered porch & open fenced area is a great perk for animal friendly rental.

    It'll be difficult for under the stairs storage due to that return vent. Could go under and over. Or close up the stairs. Then you could put drawers. I would also bump out the roof so you could actually walk upright up there. It's nice to see a tiny house which is on land and not on the traditional wheels.
