WIESBADEN - Best German City to live in?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 25 чер 2024
- We visited Wiesbaden, Germany! This was both of our first time visiting this city. Wiesbaden is very close to Frankfurt with s-bahn access to the city and airport. Wiesbaden is along the Rhine River, although the city center is about a 15 minute drive north. We wanted to check out as much of the city as we could during our trip and get a feel of the city. :) What are your thoughts of the city of Wiesbaden? #Wiesbaden #Germany #BestGermanCity

What do you think of cities in Germany?
Trier is also nice. Friendlier than normal for Germans.
i like it and btw i live in germany
Still prefer my hometown of Eschenbach. Small farming and fishing village in Bavaria near Czech border and easy to find your way around.
I like. I know it’s Corona ,but where were all the people? Lol. Very nice city. 👏🏼👏🏼 Top of the list for relocation ,for me.
I love Germany, in particular Stuttgart since I was stationed there for 6 years.
as someone from wiesbaden I was very surprised to see this in my recommendations! now I got another perspective of the city I live in😌you definitely checked out the best places! I rlly love the Kurpark, always go there to take a walk :)
Same feelings here haha greeetz
Bruder bin auch aus wiesbaden
@@Jeff-hg7vv geil schwester
Bin auch aus Wiesbaden :)
Vallah was los hier wiesbadener treff auf yt und keiner sagt mir was?!
My new home!! Moved here from the States in 2019. Absolutely love it here, in my 30s... And I'm excited to raise my new family here! Thanks for making this video to show my family.
Then welcome in wbn 😊🍀
You are very fortunate to live there. I can't wait to move back.
Do you have to know German pretty well to live there or can you get by with English a lot of times?
@@bloodndestroy well I'm in the peculiar situation where one would work for their countries government in another's country...I could live here without ever having to speak German but that's not how I'd want to experience life anywhere with it's own culture.
@@bloodndestroyThere are about 50 000 American military residents. There are pubs where you hear mostly English.
In markets like Rewe, Lidl staff don't understand English very often. But when you go out for cycling all active people (also oldies) speak fluently in English.
I didn’t know you were going to make a video about Wiesbaden, perfect timing since I’m moving to Wiesbaden next week! 😄
hey, we’re here waiting to welcome the new expats! reach out once you’re here!
Willkommen in der besten Stadt der BRD. Mal abgesehen von den Straßen...:-)
Just moved here 6 months ago, love it!
Du auch? Ich auch von Frankfurt hahaha
Yay, my hometown!! As an art historian I really love our architecture and the city in itself! We married in the Biebricher Schloss ❤️ so happy to see you enjoyed the area! Nice video graphics ☺️
I started following your channel a year ago when we found out we would be moving to Wiesbaden! We've been here for 11 months, now. I've learned so much about German culture and food by watching your shenanigans. Wiesbaden has been a wonderful place to live, and if you choose to move here, you will not be disappointed. :)
I’m moving to Wiesbaden in January. Initially I wasn’t excited but I’ve been watching all sorts of videos and reading all sorts of blogs so I’m warming up to the idea now. I’m having my first baby a few months after I get there and I’m afraid I’ll be homesick.
@@Ashley-vx9fg Wiesbaden is such a beautiful city. I definitely recommend getting connected as soon as you arrive to curb some of that homesickness (because it is real and a very valid thing to feel!! Especially when you are an expecting mama!). Adjustments can be scary and overwhelming, but I promise it DOES get better. Just give it time. I'm due with my second kiddo next week and I'm delivering at a German clinic, so if you have any questions or need any support, you just let me know once you're here.
My wife and I will be stationed there in March. I was skeptical at first but your comment and this video helps a lot. Thank you!
Will be moving soone to wiesbaden. Im originally from Slovenia, just got bored living here,so im moving to Wiesbaden 😁 Looking for a job in Wiesbaden, if you know anny english speaking jobs let me know 😂
I lived in Wiesbaden-Igstadt in the 1970s and loved the area. It was delightful to see it again so many years later. So glad to see it is still the wonderful place I remember.
As a person that gew up and still lives in wiesbaden this video made me really happy.
keep up the good work.
I was born in Wiesbaden 😍
lol I like your profile name!
It’s one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. The area is so divers around. A lot of nature around and many other cities.
You had to stop at Bad Homburg on your return (very close to FFM, it’s like a little Wiesbaden.
There live the richer Peoples.
Lebst du in wiesbaden?
Since i subscribed to your channel in dezember 2018 i followed you guys to so many beautiful places all around the world and in today's video you visit my hometown! It's so cool to see you wandering those streets and parks which are very familiar to me and see these places through your eyes. As a Wiesbadener i heartly say thank you for this wonderful video and i'm glad you had a good time over here. Vielen Dank nochmals für das wirklich schöne Video und überhaupt für euren tollen Kanal und die ganze Liebe und Mühe, die ihr darein investiert!
Thank you for showing us Wiesbaden! What a beautiful city it is.
Grew up in Wiesbaden in the 90s. Best time of my life.
Well done! I live in Wiesbaden now. This was a great video to capture the city, and help someone who wants to visit or possibly live there
thank you so much for making this video . This is my home and I am so proud that other people can see the beauty of my town. I big hug from me from Wiesbaden.
Yeah, there's definitely a Mainz-Wiesbaden rivalry. Wiesbaden was always viewed as being more for upper-class people and maybe being more snobby by the Mainzers. But Mainz is now getting more expensive to live in while available apartments are becoming scarce. It's not the hidden gem that it once was just a few years ago. A lot of my friends there have had to move further and further out. I'm heavily bias being half-American, and half-Mainzer, but I'd highly recommend moving there if the opportunity knocks.
Thank you for this great video. I was born and raised here in Wiesbaden and I just love it🥰
im happy to see a new video of you guysss
Used to live across the river in Mainz, but Wiesbaden is so beautiful.
said nobody who has lived in mainz ever
I love these videos!! You both have such an authentic vibe. Looking forward to more.
Oh, my home away from home. You brought back memories. I loved Wiesbaden. Not only was it charming but very magical/mystical/exciting especially in the autumn and winter.
I'm glad, you have my hometown in such a good memory. Greetings from Wiesbaden.
I loved the video, I was dying when phil recorded deana 🤣 and then deana making the funny face while they were in the park.
I love this city, this would definitely be on my top 3 cities to move to in Germany! I love y'alls videos, much love from Texas and Denmark!
Soon I'm moving in Wiesbaden as a nurse. I am glad to see this video and to read all these positive comments. This makes me happy that i have chosen Wiesbaden as my future country
Mit besten Grüßen nach Albanien
My mom grew up in Frankfurt and worked in Wiesbaden. I’ve visited that area many times. I love going to Rüdesheim! Another great city, a little down river is Koblenz…
We loved Koblenz! 😍We visited last year and here's that video: ua-cam.com/video/sQzz3RDmpeo/v-deo.html
@@DeanaandPhil I went to a little restaurant in Koblenz and they served me a drink in a little tiny bottle that was so good I could have had 40 of them and slept in the gutter out front and would have been happy!
Wow nice video, personally just from the video I could live there. Seems like really nice city. Thank you for another wonderful tour.
gorgeous place. thanks guys!
Good video. I like how you showed more of the city this time.
That’s partly where I grew, up! 🥺 I’m so glad you all visited!! 💕💕 You will love living there! ( if you choose) It makes me smile and want to cry! 💕💕 I can’t wait to watch the whole video, I’m working! 🤣
Aww yay! It's always nice to see childhood areas. Have fun at work! 🙂
Ñ
Awesome!! Will be moving here in January
I have been living in Wiesbaden for 5 years. Amazing town. I find it one of the best town in Germany
Hammer !
You guys are so cool! I live now since 35 years in Wiesbaden and it was the best decision ever, to move here.
Thanks guys use always make a fun video
landed in Wiesbaden from Seattle a year ago and really love living here. sehr gut!
Freut mich.
I've been to Wiesbaden, Mainz, Bonn, Koblenz, Dusseldorf, Koln/Deutz, Franfurt/Sachsenhausen, Freiburg and a few other smaller cities I can't remember. Spent 10 days in Freiburg during the Summer Solstice a few years ago. There is something very special about the Dreisam River in Freiburg during the Solstice! The added bonus of having the Black Forest made this my favorite German city. It's also the warmest city in Germany. Maybe go check it out during the solstice. I saw so many people relaxing and enjoying the calm river at dusk. Very serene.
Sitting at the Dreisam on a summer evening is awesome. :)
Freiburg also has the "Föhn", a strong warm wind often coming in the afternoon. The city center isn't too big and besides the Schwarzwald the Lake of Constace isn't that far too.
I love Wiesbaden! Lived there for 4 years in my teens. It’s beautiful.
I like these travel/tourist videos of you most. ☺️
To start a Family I’d always chose a middle sized city near one of the big ones. Bonn next to Cologne, Wiesbaden next Ffm, Lübeck to Hamburg, Potsdam to Berlin and so on…
Great Video! :)
I see this Video. I live in Wiesbaden. Best City and my Hometown. Love from Wiesbaden ❤️
I will be moving to wiesbaden very soon. This video has made me even more excited. Such a beautiful looking place.
Nice Video, nice impressions. Great to see my hometown from another perspective. For me everything is just normal, but to see my town through the eyes of visitors, awesome. Thanks for that really nice vlog.
Wiesbaden is a very beautiful city to live in with a lot of flair and quality. The proximity to the Rheingau and Taunus but also to Frankfurt make the region extremely attractive. I consider the combination with Mainz on the other side of the Rhine a great asset, as both cities cooperate instead of competing.
Well from a social point of view they hate each other but...
We are moving there this summer so thanks for sharing
One word to describe this is majestic!
Very nice!
Fantastic video. Wiesbaden super 👍
Its so nice that you guys reply to peoples comments. Thanks :)
Thank you both so much. I really enjoyed this. I was stationed at the United States Air force hospital in Wiesbaden in the early '70s. Your video brought back a lot of great memories.
Thank you so much for This pretty vote❤
So beautiful place!
Very nice!!
Wiesbadener here! Happy to see our beautiful city on your channel!
Thank you for this nice video. This will be added to my list next time I visit Germany :)
Loved this as I do all your videos. Stationed in Wiesbaden 1967-70 and still recognized some of the places (Marktkirche, Kurhaus, Kurpark, Neroberg). Thanks for bringing back some great memories.
Nice report about Wiesbaden. I saw the post by chance and can only confirm a lot.
Very informative!
amazing and beautiful city ❤️
You are the nicest couple on all of UA-cam. I wish you all the best! 😘
Nice video. Thanks for sharing this wonderful place. Take care to both of you. :-)
I was fortunate enough to live in Wiesbaden for 3 years while I was in the Army. Thanks for posting this video, makes me feel as though I was back 😊
Wiesbaden is my hometown. I really love it, since it is not such a big city like Frankfurt. Wiesbaden is very comfy and I love to walk around the central city. Really recommend it. And for all those who like to go to a bigger city from time to time, Frankfurt is really nearby. Also the Frankfurt Airport ist a big plus if you like travelling.
16:05 That "Potsdam place" would be Sanssouci Palace, the former summer residence of the German kaisers and Prussian kings. The name comes from the French "sans souci" which means "without worries" or "carefree".
but this one lucks better.
I about flipped out when I saw this! You guys are my fave German travel vloggers! American here living in Wiesbaden, I started watching your videos a couple years ago before we were stationed here bc I always wanted to travel to Germany. I hear K-town is Americanized for sure but Wiesbaden not so much. Your reasons for being interested in Wiesbaden are very good ones. Hope yall do a meet and greet nearby here one day!
Whoa! I did not expect this! I actually live there! It’s nice that I saw this in my recommendations
Pretty cool. My wife and I worked on the Airbase at Erbenheim when we were stationed there with the US Army. Our first home was on Rathausstrasse, just up from the river and three blocks over from Scholss Biebrich. Love the bike paths along the Rhine there. Biked all the way to Rudesheim from Biebrich once.
The first City I spent the night when returning to Germany as an Adult. Perhaps one of my favorites! I love it!
Lived in Wiesbaden from 1976 until 1983, one of my favorite cities in Europe.
I love Wiesbaden too 🌹🥂☀️
I worked in Wiesbaden and lived in the Taunus Mountains for ten years, and I love Wiesbaden.
My wife and I lived in Wiesbaden for 3 years from 2016 to 2019. This video really makes us miss it.
Omg I never ever thought somebody would make a video about my city 😍😍
Epic!
🥔
I lived in Wiesbaden for 2 years, and I am crazy to go back. I one of the best cities in Germany. Beautiful everywhere...
My fiancee lives there, and I'll probably be moving there within a year. It's a wonderful city, open, not as crowded as Frankfurt where I live now, and the Schiersteiner Hafen is perfect for taking long walks with the dogs :D
I life and grew up in Wiesbaden 😍I life beside the nerotal I saw my apartment in your video hehe soooo coool I really like Wiesbaden it is a lot to see, we have amazing connections to other cities and public transport :D and i love the size it is not so big like Frankfurt but it is big enough for living in a big city! Also Biebrich is a wonderful part of Wiesbaden
You guys actually just explored the heart and centre area of Wiesbaden. We have many many very beautiful suburban areas located around the centre
Finally, the area that's most near and dear to me. I was stationed about a 15 minute ride on the S-Bahn from Wiesbaden, in Rüsselsheim Am Main. We were technically part of the Mainz military community, but I also made lots of trips to Wiesbaden. There used to be a much larger U.S. military presence in that whole area back in the day, but my old base in Rüsselsheim, along with most of the bases in Mainz and Wiesbaden are either closed or drastically scaled down now. I'm planning a trip to Germany in 2023 and will definitely spend some time back in that Rhein-Main area. It'd be cool to have a beer with y'all.
Finthen barracks has been converted into apartments and the whole former base is now it's own little community.
Yup was stationed in Wiesbaden both on the air base and on Lindsey Air station !!! And had the main Air Force Hospital!!! Was. great walking down to the train station to the Kurhaus
@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN Ha! One of my unit's regular mail runs was to Lindsey. That was always one of my favorites. Been to the airbase plenty of times too. I was actually laid up in the hospital there with chicken pox for a week ot two. They couldn't let me stay in the barracks in Ruesselsheim and infect anybody else!
When I got discharged from the hospital, I told my unit not to bother picking me up. I'd just take the train home. After being in the bed so long, that walk to the hauptbahnhof almost took me out! 😄
@@Oceanic83 Same with my kaserne in Ruesselsheim. The only building left from back then is battalion HQ, which is now a kindergarten, I believe.
@@NJbakintheday I lived in Wiesbaden for over 10 years while my father was in the army. We resided in the Hainerberg community. I always go back to visit Wiesbaden when I go back to visit Germany every three years or so.
I was born and raised here.
Some facts about the „Schloss Biebrich“
The „Herzog von Nassau“ builded it. The „Schlosspark“ was his garden… Imagine having a garden that is the size of a park… People who had a huge influence on world’s history visited the palace Biebrich as well. Like Napoleon, Hitler etc.
I love your video cheers!
@Yannik Sturm Sie also!
Glad you guys liked my hometown 😁
I am born and raised in Wiesbaden, it's a great city. It was a wonderfull city to grow up in and I still love living here. It is just perfectly located if you like to travel, we love spending a weekend in Straßburg which is only about 2 1/2 hours drive. And there is so much to do an dicover in the areas directly around in Wiesbaden. The Rheingau is amazingly beautifull. Just be aware of our huge traffic troubles. For month and month the "Salzbachtalbrücke" has been our curse (there was even a radio jingel made for by a radio station they played for the at least twice daily really big traffic jams) and it was blown up just last weekend. Until the bridge is rebuild we will continue to have terrible traffic. And traffic politics in Wiesbaden in generall a big problem, even without the Salzbachtalbrücke.
I've lived in Marburg for some time, an amazing city, you should totally visit it😊
Thanks!
Really beautiful area!
Went there in 2019 Loved it!!
I'm so glad you guys are back in Germany
Since you are already in Wiesbaden swing over to Mainz and than further to Bad Kreuznach. Bad Kreuznach is a real pretty smaller City. That's where I come from. My sister lives in Wiesbaden. I am a German who has been living in the US for 35 years now.
The Rhine River Valley stays warmer than the rest of the areas, in Mannheim, we generally had snow 2 weeks, in January, and then went back to t-shirts, but our HQ was Weisbaden AB, and sister unit was in Mainz
Well done...👍🏻
Love that place!!!
Wiesbaden was my home for almost 5 years. Absolutely loved being there.
Phil’s facial expression is hilarious 🤣 not sure if he’s doing it on purpose but he got me cracking up lmao
I lived in Wiesbaden for over 6 years back in the 80's and early 90's. There used to be a great Mexican food restaurant fairly close to the Biebriech castle. My favorite restaurant was an Italian place called Scheffelstubens, on Sheffelstrasse not far from the Baunhauf.
Anyway, hope you folks ended up choosing Weisbaden. I miss it terribly and loved seeing old familiar sites in your video. Thanks for posting it.
I.... I live in Wiesbaden :) everywhere you both was was so familiar x3 I love Wiesbaden it's so Beautifull:3
Used to live in Idstein in Taunus, and Wiesbaden was our favorite place to go shopping. Just the right size
I lived in Wiesbaden for 21 years. It‘s one of Germany‘s nicest cities and as part of „Mainhattan“ the location is great.
I've been itching to move back to Germany for about 12 years since I left. Wiesbaden is one of my favorite cities and I finally got a job offer with the base out there!!!! So excited to get back!
What a nice video. Weiss baden looks to be beautiful and no Ktown!!!
I live literally one street next to the Tex Mex reasturant :D
Also don't go to the Wellritzstraße at night, it can be kinda dangerous there. There is a good Dönerladen with the best Shawarma in town though. :)
Edit: The Litfasssäule you see at 11:50 has bibleverses written on. There is a guy who walks through the city an writes verses all over the city. Pretty kind dude :)
Ich liebe es, in Wiesbaden zu leben. Die Stadt fasziniert mich immer wieder, jeden Tag. Übrigens, ihr beide seid sehr sympathisch :)
