      @@gagehindle210 Two very different bikes. I guess I'd look more into whether you need a dual motor ebike and whether your preference is more a city ebike or a fat tire ebike. That should probably drive your decision. For me, I'd love to test out the Bronco in the snow. Hope this helps!

      I don’t need dual motors, I just like the Bolton brand. I live in San Diego, so the Ride 1 Up makes sense. I’m 6’4” and 235 , so the fat tires seemed like extra shock absorption. Like your reviews. Keep it up.

    Ordered. And although it has been way over the amount of time they state on their website for it to ship, I finally emailed them. All they did was say the order will ship today or tomorrow. Today or tomorrow came and went..so did many, many other days. They also lied to me about it being shipped.. You see, they sent me an email it had been shipped, but all they did was create a shipping label. The fact they are hiding stuff and flat out lying makes me wonder if I will ever get a bike. The least they could do is be honest and explain what is going on rather than saying it will be shipped today or tomorrow, and then lying about it in an email saying it was shipped.
    On a side note, if it takes much longer, the color of bike I wanted will be back in stock! I settled for chosen color because the other was unavailable for now.

      Hi Lukasz, did you follow back up? I don't want to speak for this specific situation but Ride1Up has been very open about shipping delays. And unfortunately, some parts of the shipping process are out of their control. Kevin discussed this in a recent interview. This might not apply to your case and I can't imagine you won't receive your bike. Ride1Up is a reputable (but smaller) electric bike company. There are plenty of happy owners. Hope your issues get sorted out!

    So not having ever ridden an ebike my concern is as follows... my wife is disabled to the extent she cannot shift, throttle or brake with her right hand. The Core-5 has left throttle and I can swap brake levers to give her a better braking experience. My biggest concern is on Level 1 the bikes I have seen reviews on go around 14 MPH. That is too fast for her use. I want to get a bike that she can comfortably keep up with my walking pace so she can join me on walks/hikes. Is the Core-5 capable of providing pedal assist capable of a fast walking pace without scaring the bejesus out of her?

    Do you have at least a preliminary opinion comparing the Ride1Up Core-5 versus LMT'D bikes? Which is of these two is a better value? Between the 2, which do you prefer to purchase if you were paying with your own money? With the Core-5 bike you can customize the PAS levels by the user in the settings(it can also be done also on the LMT'D bike, but the Ride1Up owner doesn't recommend it, as it can screw up its torque sensor if I understand right).

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  3 роки тому +1

      I am super impressed with the 500 Series value wise. That's probably the ebike I'd personally buy if I was looking for a decent bike while still saving hundreds compared to other models. Yes, hydraulic disc brakes are nice to have and some people prefer the torque sensor. It also comes down to how much you'll actually use the ebike. We ride ours often so it's nice to have some creature comforts - also easier to justify spending more.

    • @Steve-yo5jn
      @Steve-yo5jn 3 роки тому +1

      @@EbikeEscape So now you have changed your opinion in preferring torque sensor over cadence sensor? In theory, the Ride1Up LMT'D has much more power than the Core-5 model(100nm vs 56nm). Almost twice more powerful? With cadence sensor, you don't need to pedal hard to get to higher speed. In my case, I would not be using an e-bike for exercise.

      @@Steve-yo5jn I don't see a reason to buy an ebike with a torque sensor if your goal isn't to work hard. Not to say you can't get exercise on a cadence sensor - it's just different. In fact I watched the 700 Series assembly video when I got mine since there wasn't a lot of info about the LMT'D at the time. I live in the high desert and just ordered one and it comes friday. We dont have a lot of sidewalks and we have hills so the electric motor and battery distance with the big tires is pefect bang for the buck in the desert but im worried i bought the wrong type of frame for the job. I bought the step through instead of the XR simply because it just looks way cooler (STUPID I KNOW!) and i wasn't thinking clearly about frame strength. And i dont plan on taking it on like super hardcore trails and shit but definitely heavy gravel and uneven terrain is sometimes with less than 1 ft drop offs are all I have to work with. Will this handle intermediate mountain bike style terrain okay without breaking or flexing? Or should I just bite the bullet and take the 250 dollar return fee and get the XR?

    • @EbikeEscape

      No experience myself with taking this truly off road. Gravel should be fine and I didn't notice anything as far as frame ridgidity issues in my resting. The Ride1Up has 52 nM of torque so I was curious how it does on hills. I weigh about 230 pounds, so I'm thinking the torque might make a difference. Of course, the Ride1Up weighs about 50 lbs and the RadRover around 70 lbs. What was your experience with the hills on the Ride1Up and how does it compare with the RadRover? Thanks!

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  3 роки тому +1

      In my opinion you should first decide whether you actually want a city bike or a fat tire. Then look at options. With the extra weight of the Rover and the fat tires and the lighter weight/skinnier tires of the Ride1up, both bikes are likely to be fine for you on hills. One benefit of the Rover is you could always pop in a more powerful motor/controller.
