Glad you made this video. I watched the video where Clyde tells all about the book and why he made it..sucked me right in,, then saw all the terrible reviews. It seemed fishy to me so I came upon your video and glad to get a thorough opinion. I honestly think all the bad reviews are part of a bigger scheme to discourage people from learning this stuff because it undermines the pharmaceutical industry and the dependence we have on the system. Im definitely going to get a copy.

I 2nd that, i was actually having some doubts but not cause of the price but because of the percentage of negative comments, i though it was more of a scam or not that good of a book when it came to explaining and understanding what you're reading.

This is probably the best survival book I’ve ever purchased I got it about 5 years ago and still believe it’s the best!
Was skeptical about the book til now. Expected a scam from the vid on the website but this is a relief. How he bagged on them being snake-selling other products made this trustworthy. Best book review I could have found by far!👍

I just found this video, nearly three years later ;) I wanted to thank you for the fair and honest review of this book. I have seen some of the negative reviews elsewhere and wondered if it was a good option for people who are not long time preppers or survivalists; you answered my questions.
I too get bugged at people who leave negative comments, not because the item is faulty or "not as advertised", but because it didn't work for them.
I am also thankful for the heads-up about the company putting this out using aggressive marketing tactics; I am a marketing flunky because I don't believe in pressure sales. I'll try to find one of those folks who didn't like it and buy from them to avoid that hassle. Thank you again!

Brilliant! Print color pictures and put it into the black and white plant pages. Makes sense and seems simple but a lot of people probably won't think of that.
Maybe do the same for alternative things; ie. The sketches.
at the price it is, you shouldn't have to do that though.
Have seen this advertised with 3 other books. Thanks for the update. & Hell ya to large font, it and capitals make it so much easier to read as you get older!!
After your review (thank you) I'd recommend just buying the digital copy and taking it to a printer to be printed, laminated and bound into a book. In particular the black and white photos, I'd rather pay an extra $10 for color.
That would be the best way to go!!
There are copyrights and you are told on the very first page to not reproduce it.

I was raised with Gramma and Grampa on the little piece of land Greatgrandpa claimed back in early 1900s. Everything we ate came from the ground and pig, chickens, and goats. My grandmother was a Native American with good ideas when it came to cooking. Natural food from the ground is the best mixed with a little bit of meat. Yummy

I bought the book in order to have a better sense of how 19th century Americans lived. I enjoyed Claude's video that sucked me in and I am not disappointed in the book for my purposes. I do wish I had spent less. $50.00 including shipping! But I knew what I was doing, so It's on me. I am happy for Claude to succeed and prosper from his sales.

The space in the book, is very helpful, for giving you room to make personal notations. Treat it like a college textbook, except, your not being ripped off for 800 dollars.
Good books to keep, right next to this, is a book on local plants and mushrooms, and a good quality map book that includes Topography.

Love how everyone hates how us salesmen put add on to the price yet they want all the bells and whistles but not willing to pay the price but quick to go down and bag their own groceries
Have hard copy books on most things for the time when civilization crumbs ( it could happen in you life time or not ) throughout history all civilization have crushed! The electric cloud storage is fine tell its gone so I will have hard copy books as a backup just in case. I hope I never need them but I don't live my life with my head stuck in the sand of denial. Look at history and enjoy a good book that doesn't need charging. PS I am old and love large print! 👵

Good review. I also find aggressive marketing distasteful. Many survival or homestead books exist. I can't recall or find the book now online, but a 1970s-80s era Swedish immigrant wrote a very nice homestead book hardcover with brown cover for the USA/Canadian market. Caution and practice are recommended with most things. Foxfire books seem to have many non-functioning things.
The Encyclopedia of Country Living blows this away.

What would be cool is if you had a clear lens under that eye patch, so if you were doing something dangerous, you could take off the leather cover and move it to your good eye so you always have a safety glass on you.

Thank you! I happened too see this review title right after I purchased the book and was worried that I was going to have to quickly cancel the order to save from being ripped off. I'm glad to know that this truly a useful book and good purchase. I agree that larger print (even young people don't need to ruin their eyes by squinting) and colored images are best.

Ayuh! Thoroughly enjoyed this straight-forward review! I have some products from this company and while I find that they're somewhat over-blown, they are chock full of usefully information...if you take the time to read them. Take care...from a new Maine sub!
My copy just arrived. My first complaint is the black and white pictures. But if something happens, I can keep this information. On a computer only, you're gonna need some great batteries if the power goes out.

Yes on the overselling/discounting temptations! Just ordered it and that pissed me off. Almost backed out it when that mess started happening. Its a Shame that the marketing pulls crap like this because it really cheapens the product, which I truly believe is a quality book
