Thank you! Fixed my monitor with this exact problem. Would never figured this on my own. To make it clear: if you have this problem, your monitor does start, but "reboots" at random times. Sometimes the "reboot" happens so often, that it seems that the monitor cannot start at all. My resistor values measured slightly different. 47K is measured to 30K and a pair of 10K actually were a 10K and a 6K. I did have an open circuit instead of 2.7K. I replace this resistor with 2.7K 0805 SMD resistor. I used an inexpensive Chinese SMD station with a concentrator nozzle at 400C. Only took a couple of seconds to melt the solder. I used it at 100C before that to help removal of the white gunk with tweezers.
i have replaced the caps of the power board and am still just getting the black screen (no dell logo at all but you can see the backlight working when pressing power) I am now checking the resistors as you show here. the bottom one is reading correctly at 2.7k if I go from the bottom resistor up these are the readings (according to auto mode on my multimeter) - 2.712k (2.7kohm) 0.572k (57k?) (supposed to be 75kohm) (you have no measurement for this one on your diagram) 0.520k (52k?) (supposed to be 47kohm) 15.00k (exactly 15kohm) X 0.620k (supposed to me 10kohm) 33.23M (supposed to be 10kohm) So my thinking is - replace the one showing 33.23M to a 10kohm resistor and that should be good? Just wanted to know if readings for my resistors are ok (except for the one reading at 15k). thank you
Yes, I would solder a 10 KOhm resistor parallel to the 33.23 MOhm resistor or replace it, whichever is easier. Hopefully that will bring your monitor back to life! Thanks for your subscription. Much appreciated.
@@repairchannel WOW, that was it! It was that 33.23M reading on that 10kohm resistor! I took the resistor off and put a standard resistor like you have in its place. Dell logo comes on and all is well! Amazing. So happy to get this monitor up and running as they are well suited for lcd arcade builds (although crt lovers will disagree haha). thank you for this video, you deserve more subs!!

That is wonderful! And great work on the soldering, those resistors are soooo small. Great idea to use 100 C air to remove the white stuff as well.

@@Retrobution Fantastic! That is good news :). Thank you for your kind words ||
