- Old Delhi, Delhi, India | 2022: We start the video from the south of Chandni Chowk, quite close to the Asaf Ali Road. We walk straight north from here through a narrow lane to reach Sitaram Bazar road tentatively at the heart of Old Delhi. We continue walking along the Sitaram Bazar road taking frequent right and left turns to find quiet lanes and quaint havelis of Old Delhi. These havelis are recognized first of all by their large ornamented doors and their intricately designed balconies.
From Sitaram Bazar area we walk towards Chawri Bazar while still observing the big palatial houses crumbling away from disrepair on both sides of the road. We continue to find these havelis at so many turns and narrow lanes along the way. From Chawri Bazar we reach the Nai Sarak area of Old Delhi and from there we further walk towards Dharampura.
Dharampura is another area of Old Delhi that houses many interesting havelis hundreds of years old sometimes. This iteration of the video ends within the Dharampura locality. The next one will start from where we left so that we cover many more beautiful views and havelis of this part of Old Delhi.
Thanks tho I wonder if these areas will ever see the light of development, improvement & renovation.
You can still keep the character of the walled city but letting it deteriorate is no way to deal with it.
Thanks again !
Thank you for watching and for writing such a thoughtful comment. I appreciate your awareness and concern :)
I hope the government does take some efforts soon to preserve and restore. The heritage we have in Delhi matches if not exceeds the heritage that Europe tried to portray to the world. The potential of Delhi is tremendous!
Very nice video

All medieval cities 12-17th century like this - old delhi, Old Ahemdabad, Old Kashi, Old Kathmandu, Old Kolkata
Full of alleys, old architecture
Ghettos ghosting Ghosts
I did not really see either of those in my walks :) But yeah….you have employed some nice good old alliteration there.
