Reminds me of the little diorama that I made as a teenager 40-odd years ago of a 1/72 Pz III. I didn't have any figures, and the diorama itself was made out of a box. IIRC, I glued some small twigs/sticks to the tank to give it some individuality :-)
Fantastic. Colours look spot on to me. The real tanks were delivered in a pinkish tan (RAL 8020) with RAL 7008 grey green disruptive, and you've captured it well.
Andy, I am guilty of running out and purchasing the kits you profile with each of your videos. You are a great marketing person for Tamiya, Dragon, etc. Well done! Great work, tips, and comments.
Hey Andy, I have an Afrika Korp collection of Original captured POW uniforms and equipment including an Afrika Korps Helmet with 98% original Afrika corp mustard/yellow paint. That paint mix that Tamiya recommends isn't even close. It's way too orange/pink. For future reference, use Humbrol, HM 2 Afrika Korps Desert Yellow or Testors Afrika Mustard FS 30266, Model Masters 195506. These manufacturers produce these paints in oil base paints. If you prefer acrylics, Use these colors as a color chip for reference to blend to match. These colors are a dark yellow but not as dark as their standard Dunkel Gelb. This mustard yellow is a perfect base color to build on. I hope that you can use this information. Love you work.
I wrote the real armored Core tank Museum in Boynton UK and the reply I got that most African or Vehicles were tanner gray with some mainly some desert sand and Italian mix so per my information you can basically color it the way you want to
Very late reply, but The Germans introduced a new shade of paint in 1942 for southern Russia and North Africa which was darker and more pink than the original yellows seen on DAK vehicles in 1941. Many tanks sent over to Tunisia (like the Pz III N depicted here, which only served in Tunisia) were factory painted in it. The Tamiya mix is trying to recreate this shade, I believe.
The originale DAK uniforms were a light olive green colour wich quickly faded under the sun, giving them a light sand shade, naturally everyone can choose every shade of sand/tan he likes
Amazing video. I have just finished the Tamiya Panzer III Ausf L and for the weathering I dry brushed with dark gray because from the research I have done, the vehicles arrived in Africa in a panzer gray color and then quickly painted a dark yellow. I think mine turned out pretty good as did yours. Thanks for sharing these videos!!
+Andy's Hobby Headquarters is there a problem with your website ? I just tried to goto ur site and it says the address changed when goin there it appears to be a botched site like it may have been hacked or something ? Am I doing something wrong or is there something going on ur not aware of ?
Hello Andy...I like watching your videos while I'm building ... and often they inspire me to buy something that was not planned ... keep it up .. Greetings from Germany
Looks great! Around September of this year I made the old Tamiya Pz III Ausf. M/N. The kit number is MM-111A. Apparently this kit is very much sought after and normally goes for about $70-$80!!! I lucked out! I cannot wait to see how you made your diorama. I am going to be making a North African dio myself but am holding back for now to see how you make yours!
Nice job, Andy. Cool kit. I think the camo came out great. I know, it's personal preference, but wouldn't think one could make a DAK vehicle too dusty.
Late to the party, but enjoyed watching the build! I have always liked the PzKmpfw III series, and the North African theme is always great. BTW, I enjoyed the music. I always find classical music from that period wonderful music...it's especially calming when doing the tricky stages of a build. Your selection was quite appropriate (Eine Kleine Nazimusik? lol), because Rommel's tanks often 'baroque down' at the worst possible times. ;)
This camo colour the flesh and the buff worked fantastic for that new I love kit Oshkosh JLTV! As the JLTV has more the rotbraun mixed through the oil new iraqi tones to what the M-ATV is got more or a desert pink matt coat no one seems to have as a colour as yet that u have found so will be using same on the RFM one when get that one!
Hi Andy, congratulations on 10,000 subscribers!! I am not surprised at all - your videos make compulsive viewing. Again a very nice choice of subject - and a great result!
it realy fits ideed on the diorama with the mixed color with redbrow and flesh, but not my color i would use, i just primer painted my panzer 4 g early, going with the dark yellow, and dessert yellow, good job with the dry brush, but no rust effect ? a little?
What a fantastic look to this tank!! Too bad there's no interior detail, though - are there any Panzer III kits with full interiors out there? I'm partial to the earlier panzers, especially since everybody and their brother has a dozen Panther and Tiger kits covering every possible version made or imagined.
Great work, you should consider having an online store, all you need is to pay for a web developer to set it up for you. Cause Amazon doesn't offer to many kits :(
Nice!, I'm more into planes but like your video's very much, not too long and no nonsens...... Where some of those rivetcountervideo's kill my mojo to start building again, your video's inspire me! Indeed music and rights are a pain in the *ss and some of my videos are silenced to by UA-cam..... Keep up the nice work, thx....
Excellent presentation on a build of one of my favourite panzers. I found it helpful and a pleasure to watch. Please keep up the good work. P.S..... When people grumble about your choice of music in future.... remind them that their P.C. actually has volume control that they should feel free to use. Personally like your choice of music by the way... :)
I love the Diorama and kit builds that have been uploaded to your channel recently. It really got me in the mood for a build. :D Great job BTW and keep it up!
Sorry Andy, but any AFV hatch which had the inside exposed when open was always painted the same colour as the exterior so as not to compromise the camouflage.
Good point and would agree but there is a suggestion that the inside hatches would have been left the original colour of(possibly) panzer grey...as these are in Tunisia possibly dark yellow. These are the factory finishes. This is about the change over between the grey to the Dark Yellow. These panzer III N were the first batch based on the J and L chassis.
Reminds me of the little diorama that I made as a teenager 40-odd years ago of a 1/72 Pz III. I didn't have any figures, and the diorama itself was made out of a box. IIRC, I glued some small twigs/sticks to the tank to give it some individuality :-)
I remember the matchbox 1/76 armour kits that came with a diorama base👍
Almost two years old...How did I miss this build? Big fan of the Panzer III. Awesome Andy. Love the paint!

That is *OUTSTANDING* The best tank model I've seen on youtube. Thanks for showing.

Tamiya #35290 for those interested (like me) in the specific kit number. Nice build as usual Andy.

It's a mix I would never of thought of but it has really worked out.
Yes I was concerned at first with color but ended up nice
If you want more views add some audiobooks from German memoirs I've been listening too them all day long and all night even if I'm at work!
Love the videos Andy, started me modelling again after 30 years absence. Your doing a great job 👍
Nice work, going to be starting this kit in the morning.

Thanks a ton Andy I learn an aweful lot of painting techniques watching ur videos for sure.
Your welcome I'm glad I could help

Its a Masterpiece!!
That looks great, Andy. The only colour looked pretty gruesome and unrealistic to start with, but turned out beautiful. Nice work.
Thank you , I know was a bit scared when I first put it on but It blended well.
I know this is an old video but loved what you did, I too wasn't sure of the paint scheme but the end result is fantastic
I like the paint mix. Gonna try it next N. Africa build I do.
Really great work.
Nice job, Andy. Cool kit. I think the camo came out great. I know, it's personal preference, but wouldn't think one could make a DAK vehicle too dusty.

Great great Panzer III and diorama !
Thank you I'm glad you liked it.
Excellent job!!
Another masterpiece! Looks great. I'm going to have to use the dry brushing technique on my next build.
That's great
Nice work Andy. That method of pre shading is one I'm fond of. Great result on the project mate
Thank you
Thank you very much for sharing ! Very nice !
I had a great time at your store!
That's great , It was great to meet you.
Wow! That was fast. Yesterday you just mention that you will be building a PzIII for your diorama and now you have completed it.
I had extra time to work on it
Late to the party, but enjoyed watching the build! I have always liked the PzKmpfw III series, and the North African theme is always great.
BTW, I enjoyed the music. I always find classical music from that period wonderful music...it's especially calming when doing the tricky stages of a build. Your selection was quite appropriate (Eine Kleine Nazimusik? lol), because Rommel's tanks often 'baroque down' at the worst possible times. ;)
this is my favorite build of yours yet! absolutely gorgeous and will have to add it to my to-do list
thank you I'm glad you liked it
That was a really top class paint job on the Panzer 3, well done and many thanks for these great videos.
Thank you
This camo colour the flesh and the buff worked fantastic for that new I love kit Oshkosh JLTV! Thanks for the video Andy, very inspirational!
thanks for watching
Nice build. I didn't see you add any kind of a wash to the exterior. If you did, would you do that over a gloss clear coat or a dull coat?
Wow it is beautiful!!
Thank you
Hi Andy, congratulations on 10,000 subscribers!! I am not surprised at all - your videos make compulsive viewing. Again a very nice choice of subject - and a great result!
Thank you for watching

Great job!
Thanks I'm glad you liked it
+Andy's Hobby Headquarters im so exited! I'm coming on Saturday hope to see you there!
great work as usual
thank you I;m glad you liked it.
Hi Andy
I highly recommend that you try out Tamiyas new product; Brush Conditioning Fluid
Thanks
it realy fits ideed on the diorama with the mixed color with redbrow and flesh, but not my color i would use, i just primer painted my panzer 4 g early, going with the dark yellow, and dessert yellow, good job with the dry brush, but no rust effect ? a little?
Great work, Andy. :)
Looks amazing. Love the how to paint videos
Thank you
great stuff once more
Great job. Could you please describe the "ballast" that you used on the base.
Hi Yes Ballast is a light weight rock that model railroaders use. You can find it at any model train store
great as allways
Can you apply decals and have them not them wrinkle up without putting on a clear coat?
clear coat seals them so overtime decals will come off
Do you glue down the models to the diorama bases, or leave them free to be moved or picked up?
very nice, thanks
you should put a link to the next project like the diorama base in your description.
Great video. Keep up the great work.
thank you
What a fantastic look to this tank!! Too bad there's no interior detail, though - are there any Panzer III kits with full interiors out there? I'm partial to the earlier panzers, especially since everybody and their brother has a dozen Panther and Tiger kits covering every possible version made or imagined.
There are Tiger versions that absolutely nobody has kitted yet.
Great video!
Thank you for watching
Awesome model Andy, nice painting and weathering. I did mine some time ago in the same painting. Greetings from Poland, Konrad :)
Thank you ,that"s great
Great work, you should consider having an online store, all you need is to pay for a web developer to set it up for you. Cause Amazon doesn't offer to many kits :(
looks really good andy keep them coming bud
Thanks Gilbert , i have three kits being built right now so more coming soon.
outstanding brilliant wow
Thank you
Andy could you try to assemble an armored car? I recommend Tamiya's Puma, it's fast and detailed, but the barrel bends easily, take care
Amazing!
Thank you
Andy's Hobby Headquarters How much do you sell a model like this for? -Just curious.
Built up?I sell my built kits all the time with the base I would sell this one for $150
Andy's Hobby Headquarters Sounds pretty good, I will take a look at what dioramas you have and definitely want to buy. How do I contact you directly?
do you have another one of those kits.? great build by the way.
YES I do have them
+Andy's Hobby Headquarters
hey Andy, I looked at your hobby site and couldn't find Tamiya kit number 35290. PANZERKUMPFWAGON III ausf N? let me know.
Nice!, I'm more into planes but like your video's very much, not too long and no nonsens......

thanks your right about the volume , thanks for watching
Andy what is interior buff the product you used for the inside. Is that a stand aloneColor or mix
Hi I used and forgot to mention Just testors Panzer interior buff right out of jar
Thank you Andy
Wouldn't Tamiya XF-59 Desert Yellow suffice for that mix?
I love the Diorama and kit builds that have been uploaded to your channel recently. It really got me in the mood for a build. :D
Great job BTW and keep it up!
Thanks I'm glad you liked it
I have an original German ammo drum dated 1941 from north Africa. Pink in color.
Would you mind telling me what the Tamiya color codes and ratio are for the paint on the hull?
Your video is exceptionally clear visually and it brings out the model's details. What camera are you using here? Thanks.
I use my iphone 6
That was neat, and wasnt the m10 gonna have a snow diarama?
Thank you yes it was but I decided to hold off on snow I didn't have correct figures but i do plan on doing a another small base with snow this time.
+Andy's Hobby Headquarters oh
Andy, I love the German Afrika tanks. How about an Afrika Tiger 1, at some point. {=^;^=}
very nice model love the color, and again a great vid. :-)
thank you
Hi Andy, where did you find Tamiya color recommendations? would like to use their paints but cant find proper colors for some of RAL's.
Another great model build Andy. Was this an example of a technique I have heard about called "black and white"?
i have never heard it called that but I would assume it was , thanks for watching
Does your shop stock flames of war stuff
Sorry Andy, but any AFV hatch which had the inside exposed when open was always painted the same colour as the exterior so as not to compromise the camouflage.
