Another excellent video. I’m getting ready to start building my Takom Panzer iii Ausf N kit. Your videos on building this kit will be very helpful. The building tips you mentioned should make my build easier. Again thank you sharing the videos. Larry
Thank you for going light on the weathering. So many other channels make it seem like every nation in the world has their military equipment rolling out of the factory having been in combat for 18 months.
Super job on the Panzer, particularly enjoy the way you talk us through each step of the process with the painting and weathering. Your channel is always a great watch so really look forward to seeing the notification.
Many thanks for posting this video . I was given the Panzer III N last christmas and like you I will be painting in the camo scheme of the 2nd Panzer Div. at Kursk because of the array of decals. The method I now use and have used on previous builds is the 'hairspray' technique i.e. a base colour of Tamiya XF9 Hull Red a coat of hair spray then mix of XF55 Buff and XF 60 Dk.Yellow ratio of 1:4 and start chipping using micro brushes . Coat of varnish then a chipping solution from AK and application of the camo and repeat chipping process using micro brushes. It certainly gives the desired results albeit time consuming . I enjoy watching your videos as it gives me new ideas etc. . Keep up the good work and I look forward to new videos from you.
Thanks mate. I want to use the hairspray technique as a way to distress paint (using multiple layers of the lightened base colour), but I've never been able to get it to look right. I've found the chips are always too 'sharp' (the edges are too square). Perhaps the brushes I'm using are the reason.
@@ModelNerd I've got a couple of old Italeri models which I use to practice and see if my airbrush is at the right pressure etc. . I saw a video last year and the guy was using these micro brushes so I purchased some and haven't looked back. Forgot to mention that I like the shade of green you've used here and will give that a go .
Thoroughly enjoyed this panzer 3 build, the colour contrast from application to dry is always an intrigue to me.. takes a bit of courage and belief to apply , and just a little patience.. Brilliantly demonstrated... Thank you.. ATVB.. Scott Somerset
Thanks Scott. Yep....whenever painting or weathering something I always have to hold back that feeling that it looks terrible and I should remove it straight away.
Thanks mate. I have the StuG III Ausf G too, but I'll leave that for a bit since a lot of it is the same as this kit. I wasn't going to buy it but then I saw it at a massive discount...you know how it is :)
Awesome work buddy! Looks fantastic. Panzer III is a beautiful tank, often overlooked because of the Tiger and Panther (which are both awesome too). I do feel like the Panzer III is under rated. The workhorse of the Wehrmacht
Thanks! Yes, I'm finding myself drawn to some of the lesser known tanks too recently. Strangely, I can't find many examples of the Panzer I in 1/35 scale....
The Trumpeter kits ment to be better than the Amusing hobby Neubaufahrzeug but it's still the one I went for aswell! The build review I seen done of it a few years ago was stunning with all the opening hatches and full caps it was the Turret on this Norwegian campaign one I liked it wasn't the same as trumpeters one looks alot nicer not being a square flat back!
Great video as always! I bought this kit the other day, will be my first takom kit and will build it soon. What size needle did you use for airbrushing the green paint on? Looks great as usual, keep up the fantastic content.
The camo is good, However, This type of tank, Panzer 3 and generation onwards had quite literally some of the best tracks and anti rust material for them, as its a common misconception german tracks are rusty, they are far from rusty in any way, but other than that its a nice tank, though the tracks would not be rusty at all
Is there a reason you used thick paint for the green? Most people use thin to reduce splashes, but yours looks perfect too. Looking forward to your next build!
Hey again! Really was happy that you picked the Kursk 2nd Panzer Divison scheme. Is it from SS division “Das Reich”? I know they used yellow & green often. Thank you again for your really well put together videos, you are becoming my favorite modeler!
@@ModelNerd The 2nd Panzer Division was set up in Würzburg in October 1935. In the spring of 1938 it was relocated to Vienna, and thus the "Vienna Division". @@ModelNerd I do start from example tracks from drive gear an go back. Also I am bending plastic a little to do not have strait parts. Rest of painting super work even me do not have yet so good skils :) Also if you are using plate armor you can alweys hide some things there ;)
Superb job as usual, I love the look of your tracks (some would probably said that it's too rusty but who cares really)! Two critics tho : - please do something for your intonation. I feel like I'm listenning to asian onisian and uh... yeah....I know how hard it is to talk to a camera but come on mate. - you should find yourself those spiny mirror things so you can just film the finished model spinning on itself !

What a superb looking work! I enjoyed seeing you use many different weathering techniques, but without doing to much. Looks very life like!
Thank you very much!

Thank you! Cheers!
Another great model series! I love the camo, and the restrained weathering is perfect.
Can’t wait for the next project.
Cheers from Australia!
Thanks mate! I appreciate that.
I am greately impressed on how you handle such weathered brush.
Haha, thanks
Looks great, love the camo pattern.
Thank you Steve
New too your channel. you do OUTSTANDING work. I've watched several of your videos and learned alot. Thanks

Thank you Michael, I really appreciate that. I'm just getting sorted out after a big move, but hopefully there'll be lots more to come!

My favourite tank of ww2
It's got a very nice look about it, I agree. I have the StuG III somewhere too, need to get around to that.

Yes, I think there are a few different versions of the real tank
Was wondering when this was coming back... looks great, well done, I also don't like the heavy weathered tanks and I think yours has just enough...
Yeah, I decided not to rush it through last week because it wasn't quite ready. I'm happy with how it turned out now though :)
Always nice finish.
Thanks mate - glad you enjoyed it!
Looks great.

Thank you Leeroy. For the green I think it was a 0.2 needle, but it was a while ago now. Enjoy building the kit!

Great build and nice job mate. So what psi do u use for applying the camo?
Thank you. If I remember correctly, probably around 20psi, maybe a bit lower.
@@ModelNerd ok ty sir. Again great job mate
Is there a reason you used thick paint for the green? Most people use thin to reduce splashes, but yours looks perfect too. Looking forward to your next build!
It wasn't particularly thick. I may have sprayed it on a bit too thick in areas, but the paint itself was thinned more than I normally do.
