Plot:

The fact that miles can't even stick to walls because he was sad, suprised and heartbroken is just, amazing!.

This scene is brilliant, because the first time Miles and Uncle Aaron were in this house in the movie, they were having fun, talking on the couch, punching the heavy bag, and vibing to music, but the second time they're in this apartment together, it's dark and scary, and this time, both unaware of each other's identities, and Uncle Aaron is unknowingly trying to kill Miles.
I know you don't want to think about it hell I don't either but could you imagine just how tragic it would have been if he actually succeeded in killing miles... on second thought that actually would make for a good comic.

I love how they did the Prowler in this movie. They treated him like a horror movie menace that you hide from just to further convey that Miles CAN NOT and SHOULD NOT fight this figure. His only option is to run, and they implemented this feeling beautifully.

Man, I love how they made the Prowler to be like a monster from a horror movie. No hesitation, completely relentless and always on the hunt. This is how you make an intimidating villain.

Well technically, Miles was young and new to the whole hero thing, so a professional villain like the Prowler is gonna seem like Jason Voorhees to him.
Plus, the revelation that he was Miles' beloved uncle didn't do any favors for him.

I’m pretty sure he did, When he peeks around the furniture, notice that Miles is actually crouched just under his line of sight.
In a weird way it might have actually saved his life. Later on he refuses to kill miles and probably would have had the same dilemma here, but this time Fisk wouldn’t be there to cut him off.

The thing I adore at this scene is that the music doesn't kick in at 2:24 but instead at 2:30
The REAL shock of this scene isn't the audience finding out Aaron is the Prowler, it's MILES finding out Aaron is the prowler. Even if you already figured out that Aaron was the prowler before the reveal, the music exploding into terror the second the camera locks in on Miles makes you still feel the devastation and horror he feels.
exactly. it mirrors the terror that miles feels in this scene. at 2:24 there's a short but louder than average burst of the music, which shows miles' initial shock. and at 2:30 the music fully kicks in as miles processes the shock and realises the full gravity of the situation.

This is further reinforced by the later scene, where Miles tells the other Spiders about the situation. This suggests that Miles wants to get the burden of being the only good guy who knows off of him, and also to see what others think
And when Miles breathes out too, it’s like he’s screaming on the inside.
I knew Aaron was the Prowler cause I read the comics but regardless of that I feel the terror Miles is feeling. The music makes you feel as terrified as he is to find out the person he (probably) idolizes be one of Spider-Man’s greatest villain.

I feel like his theme during the chase reflects that even better.
When I hear it, I think less “high-pace chase” and don’t really worry about Miles’s physical safety. But rather sadness, a sense of betrayal and considerable despair at the discovery.

I went in not even knowing Miles Morales was a character. Totally blind watch. Not really a marvel fan at all but BOi when I tell you this movie is so good it had me hooked into this story and guy right off the bat and wouldn’t let go.
See I did know that Miles' uncle was a villain named prowler going in, but I had no frame of reference fot what the costume was and somehow got it in my head that this guy was a weird version of Hobgoblin when I first saw him. I realized it was Aaron literally right as he opened the window, it was amazing

The way music kicks in like a second later after revealing Prowler's identity instead of the exact moment of reveal like most movies would show the brilliance of this movie. Like the music is Miles' emotional state where he needs a second for the brain to even register what happened in front of him and it's just getting worse as the theme goes on where the situation gets more desperate. God damn, I've got to watch this movie again.
I also love the drop before it really kicks off like his reality just got shattered

The way Miles gave a smirk like a small smile right after he said "I just wish you were here." Hit me like he actually thought he was there for a split second until the big reveal.

I love how the prowlers full theme doesn’t kick in at the start of the chase. It kicks in when Miles realizes that the man trying to kill him and the only person he thought he could turn to in the world are actually the same person.
That realization is scarier than any chase scene could have been on its own. God, this movie is full of genius choices like that.

The fact that the music hits hard at 2:30, not after Aaron takes his mask off, but just just a split second after you see Mile’s reaction is just genius. It wasn’t meant to jolt you at the reveal, it was meant to jolt you at realizing Miles’s world is crashing down hard on him
I just noticed that the sky turned red on 2:48 while it was blue a few scenes earlier in 0:58, probably meant to help show Miles' emotional state and make the scene more tense.
I love this scene as you can see his whole world (or what was left of it) fall apart especially after such great discouragement earlier in the film.
The best part is, the transition was also perfect. They used the thermal vision as a setup for the change so they could stick to it.

This scene does well to show how reflexive the spider-agility is. We see Miles performing skillful acrobatic feats later, but this is just him running on fight or flight and he's still slipping through car accidents without a scratch. It's impressive... AND, it further establishes the threat that the Prowler represents, since he can keep up with a rookie Spider-Man while barely even trying.

One of the many things I love about this movie is that this scene is damn near perfect; if you knew the twist already bc of the comics, it still manages to be a fucking gutwrenching scene because of Miles' reaction. And if you DIDN'T know the twist before hand? It just rips you apart, and makes you feel every bit as scared, hurt, confused, and just downright heartbroken as Miles throughout the entire scene, and it makes a certain other moment in the movie just decimate you. GOD DAMN, I FUCKING LOVE THIS MOVIE!
The constant breathing from miles is making you feel sympathetic and makes the prowlers reveal feel so real and just scary.

I knew the twist before watching, but the moment where Aaron takes his mask off and that motif hits still gets me.
The Prowler has been getting so much love these past few years : His small cameo in Spider-Man Homecoming, this gut-punching reveal and kick-ass theme in Into the Spider-Verse, and the twist of his story in Across the Spider-Verse is just incredible.
At first I actually thought the prowler(who I didn’t know was uncle Aaron) knew mile’s identity because it was his bounty and went for his family starting with Aaron,

The look of horror and pain on Miles’s face always gets me.
This scene is the best scene in the whole movie outside of the leap of faith. The big push-in-the-gut reveal music comes not when Aaron takes off his mask, but when they shows miles face, which means the music is essentially the pure terror miles is feeling right now. And also, when you see his reaction, it just hits you even harder when you realize at that moment "oh shit, miles own uncle, who was like a second father to him, is trying to kill him, and he doesn't even know it." God, what a scene.
Idk, I think the one in the alleyway after the prowler is killed is better
2:30 I love how the music intensity didn't increase when the prowler revealed his true identity while the focus was on him, but only when it turns to miles and shows us his reaction. It is a surprise to us, but it is a even bigger surprise to miles. I love the detail.
Noticed a cool detail, Miles was scared but not scared enough that he would stick to the windshield of that car 3:34.
I just wanna make a quick analysis because this scene is just so good.
1. Miles already has the pressure of the other spiders on him. The pressure that he’s the one who needs to destroy the collider.
2. At first when he hears Aaron coming in from the fire escape he smiles. Then he gets a bit suspicious and his suspicions are confirmed when Aaron uses his claws/gauntlets to open the window.
3. 1:41 this is night vision, not thermal vision.
4. 2:04 Miles looks absolutely terrified. And since this is just moments before he finds out that Aaron is the prowler, we can assume that miles thinks the prowler did something to Aaron. Or the prowler just stalked him from aunt May’s house, where *all* the spiders are. Which means his friends could be in danger.
5. Aaron says Mr. Fisk. It’s just a sign of respect.
6. 2:32 miles is absolutely bewildered. He can’t even move a bit.
7. 2:45 Aaron turns on thermal vision because he sees the plant move. Before he didn’t because he was just checking. He doesn’t expect miles (who he thinks is a random kid) to know where he lives. That’s why he didn’t have it on before.
8. 2:49 miles’ invisibility glitches just a bit out of fear and shock. Also he’s panicking and not focusing on what he’s running into.
This makes me wonder if Aaron did see the note miles left in his apartment or not. And if he did, i feel like it’d be terrorizing to the viewer + miles.
3:53 gives me chills everytime..
My favourite part while experiencing this is that I actually didn’t notice miles go invisible because it was so dark in the theatre so I thought Miles made a sly getaway and the part of prowler looking around was supposed to make you wonder where he could have went while Aaron was revealed to be the Prowler. THEN right after, miles was revealed to have been there the whole time.
Now rewatching it and actually seeing miles invisible right under the Prowler makes me wish there was a version where you don’t see miles go invisible because it makes the whole twist a lot more interesting
Some cinemas reduce the brightness of the projector so that the lumens survive longer and thus the time until you buy new lumens is extended.
the fact that even when miles figured out it was his uncle all along he didn't reveal his location or took the mask off but instead he was scared shitless and started running fearing that aaron could be so comitted to his job/boss to kill his own nephew without batting an eye is *CRAZY*
This movie made me sad & shocked that Spider-man's uncle died. After 60 frickin years of the same story, these writers found a way to tell that story again and make it fresh. Deserves its Oscar.

The prowler leitmotif, damn dude. I love how it ramps up when miles finds out Aaron is the Prowler, it's like a panic attack was ramping up every time the prowler came on screen and the second he unmasked, Miles' confusion, terror, and betrayal burst in an unfiltered roar of sound.
I predicted that Uncle Aaron was going to die since he is the "Uncle Ben" for Miles Morales' story.
What I did not expect was that Uncle Aaron was also the Prowler.
I already knew Aaron was the prowler because of the comics. The comics showed he was the prowler.
Miles invisibility power is my favorite of his abilities
They couldn’t have made the Prowler any cooler in this movie, I needed so much more.
The Prowler was a really great villain and character in this movie, the most subtle details hinting aaron being the prowler were missed but were still there.

What makes this scene great personally is that it was shocking for me even though I was spoiled by a fucking ign review that prowler was Aaron. Because it makes you see the impact the reveal has on miles immediately and the music picking up really boosts that.
Genuinely terrifying. I love how scary they made Prowler in his first two chase scenes with Miles.
I wholeheartedly believe that this is the best scene in any animated movie in history. One of the best scenes of all time. It's that good.

A very subtle detail I noticed about this scene. It serves as a parallel to when Miles first discovers his powers, he's running to Uncle Aaron out of fear hoping he could confide in him, now that miles figures out he's the Prowler, he's running away from him out of fear for his life.
Can’t say that Prowler was very popular character, but thanks to this movie he really became one hell of a good character. Also comparing to his original design this one looks better, using only purple colors, this theme and traits of a beast form horror movie really made him memorable
Well technically Ultimate Universe's Prowler's suit was mostly between purple and black, making him a more tactic Deadpool suit (his mask looked like Deadpool's).

I never thought a Spider-Man movie would go full horror film with jump scares and everything. There hasn't been an intimidating Spider-Man villain in the movies since Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man 2.
Honestly doc oc wasn't that intimateing I mean he literally says "butter fingers" after dropping aunt may, although that one hospital scene was pretty scary but I contribute that to the other actors

Never read the comics, it being his uncle was a surprise but I saw it as a possibility so it didnt scare me. But the THEME IS EVERYTHING. You can hear the extent of Miles' fear when it was loud.

man, after seeing prowlers depiction in this movie, i’d really like seeing an origin story about him, like how aaron and miles father split up and how he ended up in crime and as the prowler. I mean, he is hands down the coolest of all the villains in spiderverse
It’s cause Aaron told miles’s dad he was the prowler and he didn’t want Aaron to be apart of the family after that
