This video was extremely Helpful DAVIS!!! I was a little reluctant to watch this video beforehand, thinking that you'd convince me enough to NOT want to pursue Consulting. But after you explained the Pros and the Cons, I was reaffirmed on the reasons why I wanted to continue to pursue a career in Consulting. I love the doctor analogy you used and how you gave personal examples from your own life (while at Bain) to give insight into what's it was like being a consultant! Thanks for the video
@@myconsultingoffer Hey Davis, I recently got refused by one of your reps on receiving consulting from the MCO team because she felt that I didn't have any "leadership" skills. Have you ever heard about this happening to any of your potential candidates. Refusal of service? She said the only way she can help me is if I have a referral at the firm I want to work for. What's the purpose of MCO if I already have a referral?
@@jonathanrogers6032 - thanks for letting me know. Let me check with the team who reviewed your application since we do reject a number of people from our full program if we think there is a step they should take before they can maximize their chances of working with us such as deciding if consulting is for you. Each case is different since we don't want to give anyone false hope if we can't help them. I'll reach out and follow up via email since you reached out to the team.
Thanks, @Katleho! Really glad we found the value to the be best consulting video you've watched. :) Hope you will check out all the other great videos as well and reach out anytime you have questions.
Amazing video, thank you so much! I would like to ask you: Is it common to land a job as a consultant/analyst later in life (in your 30s)? From what I've seen, the most common scenario is that analysts are fresh graduates. Even though consulting companies seem to value diverse backgrounds, after a quick look at LinkedIn profiles, it appears that most analysts are very young. Thanks in advance!
Absolutely, it's possible to start a consulting career in your 30s. Consulting firms value diverse backgrounds and experiences, so don't be discouraged by the perception of younger analysts on LinkedIn. Your unique skills and expertise are valuable assets. Best of luck!
