Great beginner truck for sure, packs the punch and a lot of fun. Getting back into the rc world and my son and I have crashed this truck quite a bit and it’s been holding itself together well. Would recommend to anyone starting out or getting someone young into the hobby.
Hello, I am new to these but I just bought the 2 wheel drive stampede with the Id, my neighbors each bought various brands of traxxas vehicles and have been playing with them outside during this Quarantine time, and having fun so naturally after observing them all I decided to get one and went with the stampede, I am a beginner age 50 woman and having a Blast with my new adult toy, thanks for you video, I also subscribed , to stay up to date and learn about these, I already want to upgrade things, but will have to wait till my local hobby store opens back up to have them help do the upgrades as I'm new to this all !
Just got one for my son's 6th bday, been a blast in our 3 runs so far, one at concrete skatepark and 1 at dirt track with ramps, tabletops, banks, rock piles etc. My interest is the only thing that justified the price though for an entry level hobby-grade. Got a deal on a 5000mah NimH battery and charger. Vinyl wrapped back bumper, side skirts and front plate in matte black lol Tried a little trick with those lil mesh shoe covers, basically bagged the guts up and tucked around the end under motor, had decent protection for few mins but like a filter it became a liability in its buildup. Decided to paint the chrome wheels matte black and used a body spacer to cover centre hub as to keep it chrome and painted tire letters white. The customization is making this fun for me and they rip out of box. The only thing I don't like would have to be the cheap thin springs, tangibly, in usage I'd say what seems to me as horribly bad axle flex.
I picked one up on Consignment last weekend for $140. Came with everything, battery, charger and boxed. The owner ran it mabe 5 times. Looks like new. I am changing the brushed power plant to a brushless like my Bandit. You need to add bearings to the wheels right from the start, especially moving up to brushless. I will be adding stick on wheel weights up front. I do the shoe goo and fiber drywall tape to ALL my Traxxas bodies
I got a wheelie bar on mine to keep it from standing up on the tailgate every time I accelerate. Totally worth it after I did the same thing to my truck’s body.
I just got mine the other day and I'm already loving it. I got at my local hobby shop. I wish he would of had the wheelie bar though but I'll get it another time. He did suggest the RPM front bumper which I got and love the green I got it in. I can wait for things to break so I can upgrade them with better parts lol
I've had my Stampede for like 6 or 7 years now and I recently put on some proline trenchers and installed a Hobbywing Max 8 combo with a 2200 kv motor. On 3s it goes ~35 ish mph and the motor barely even gets warm. The Max 8 combo can take 6s but I'm afraid to do that (plus i cant fit two 3s lipos in that tiny box)
i love the orange body i can only find 2 bodies from traxxas for sale now and I dont like either on their site. i would love to find a cool orange body. i like the traxxas bodies they look cooler than the ones on ebay. i have just upgraded to brushless with a cheap $30 combo but cant get it to run on my nimh packs, works on 2s lipo fine
I think it is worth the cost of the stampede (I think it comes with stock metal gears) the servo and variator are waterproof ... there are some advantages that the kyosho monster tracker lacks (most servos and variators are not waterproof) in kyosho (the advantage is that kyosho does include battery and charger) great review!
Can you put a link for the exact goolrc combo you got? Also I have the same radio system on my merv and I easily get 300+ feet range that’s weird and I tucked my antenna

I just bought the Stampede two wheel brushless really good really but my rims on the back need to re glue or I need to get to some pro lines
A steering servo so quickly? Super interesting. Four Traxxas stampedes, only had one go in seven years. We don’t bash em though- like on purpose.

I love the goolrc brushless systems.
U should see my stampede 2wd.. it barely has any original traxxas parts left
Lol

You’ve got some great videos! Just subscribed!
Thank you!
Can you use the motor with the stock esc?
Of you have the vxl, yes. But if you have the xl5, then no
