    That esc and receiver don’t weight that much to make not wheelie anymore if you moved more towards the front. It either just spins the wheels on power or there is throttle control, because even on 2s it should still wheelie. You should have got a rustler if you didn’t want to wheelie lol!

      My rustler wheelies😐 but that’s 4s.. and it’s insane

    Nice video. No BS...straightforward. I have a 2WD Stampede also. When the motor burned out, upgraded to a Velineon 3500 with a 3S LiPo. This thing always wheelies. And yes it is difficult to control/steer. I took your advice and moved everything forward, except I kept the stock mounting plate for the ESC and receiver. Figured since it fit, no point in using something lighter.
    Well....It did NOT work.
    Short of exercising throttle control, this thing wheelies no matter what. No harm in trying. Doesn't hurt leaving everything where it is now either. Good effort though. Thanks for the video.

      I'm on 2 s and she doesn't wheelie much since the mods. She jumps and steers better since the mods. I also have Big bore aluminum shocks that add more weight to the front

      2 things I recommend
      Get a heavy fish weight for the front end
      Tighten your fly wheel

    you could just loosen the slipper clutch but then it will need to be rebuilt after a while.

      This truck really kicks ass after these mods. Not so easy to flip and way more stable. She pancakes jumps and I s a total blast to drive

    I’m going to have to try that ESC placement on mine when I get a new VXL combo for it! BTW, you can also get that rear mount to go lower, I cut the lower pairs mounting holes off and then lined up the top holes on the mount on the lowest holes on the tower. Have a JConcepts Rustler body slammed low enough to hide the main chassis tub.

      The mods I did made it way more balanced.... It's still a monster but it is just way more forgiving for a kid to drive. When I drive it I bash and it smashes like a boss

    Moving the receiver to the front stopped the wheelies? Whats it weigh? 1oz ?

      No probably less......however the combination of the reciever, esc and most of the wiring......Not to mention the suspension and ride height changes. Totally different rig performance wise.....

    sounds like the motor is to powerful for that truck I have a stampede and i have had it for 6 months made3 the rear shocks a little stiffer and all four wheels are loaded and it stays on the ground has not wheelied since i got it and was learning how to drive it.

    I ditched that flimsy rear body mount and used a modified one from my old revo. I like not having a wheely bar also so I'm going to glue fishing sinkers in the cavities in front of the servo. I'll have so much power soon the added weigh will help not hurt.

    Did the same today. Used original plate and drilled holles where the battery plate fit. Almost like it was meant to be. Cut down the body pins and lowered the rear. Used the battery pins for the front and drilled holes. They fit in stuck up thru the body and now this things drifts like crazy.

      Swapped out the shock stabilizers front and rear. Seemed to lower and widen it a few cm. Cut air iduction holes in body. Will go brishless full aluminum swing arms, bearings, spacers and looking to find a way to double the battery and motor and making a nasty sleeper. What do you recomend.

    You gonna want to keep thise driveshafts stock. I ran steel xo1 shafts and still bend when you crash at high speeds. Stock drivedhafts hold up to 160mph. I run grps with 17mm 8th scale wheels and have mine lowered with gtr shocks. Speed truck doing 90 on 4s with 34/30 mod 1 gears. Running 120 amp hobbywing with 2400kv 8th scale step 4274? I run dual 2s 8000mah 90 amp burst rc king batteries. Truck is insane. I need those wheelie bars

    You know there's all different types of RC vehicles the reason why so you can do different things on different terrains so you have an option of buying an RC that's capable of doing what you want without trying to convert it yes you can upgrade or modify things to make it handle better but hey why don't you get a truggy LoL

  • @scottfirman
    @scottfirman 10 місяців тому

    I know this is 4 years old, but lowering the body couldnt possibly lower the CG. The body is NOT heavy enough to affect that. As far as wheelie bars are concerned, mabe they look lame, they function. Period. Everyone is different concerning that.

    • @roberthoward5499
      @roberthoward5499  10 місяців тому

      Any time you can lower weight you will reduce body roll. Every gram makes a difference. This truck can run on a indoor track and does well. Jumps like a dream and fairly stable even with the large wheels. These mods made a major difference in the way the truck drives

    • @scottfirman
      @scottfirman 10 місяців тому

      @roberthoward5499 Thank you for that. I purchased the vehicle for my son- in - law. He gave me his Summit because it is beyond his capabilities to maintain and repair it. I wanted to get him something simple, but do upgrades to it so he can enjoy it. I already ordered the same brushless set up I put in my Bandit last summer. I take it camping with us to run up and down the lanes. My Slash Ultimate and E-Revo 2.0 are too much for that. I have to find a big open field for those. They take up more room as far as storage as well.

  • @Firebrand.886
    @Firebrand.886 3 роки тому

    If you want the truck to stop doing wheelies, just loosen the slipper clutch a certain amount. This is just an unnecessary amount of work just to make the thing stop wheelieing.

    • @roberthoward5499
      @roberthoward5499  3 роки тому +1

      If I loosen the slipper I will lose power from the motor tru slippage. I can nail this thing and the ass squats and she rips the track up. The weight in the front makes a huge difference. I have been doing rc for over 30 years including racing in multiple styles. Trust me when I say.......The weight helps

  • @travnamber1
    @travnamber1 2 роки тому

    I know this is old but is this a joke? The stampede was made to jump and wheelie. A speed controller that size doesn't come close to weighing enough to keep a brushless stampede from flipping over backwards unless the battery happens to be bad and running on one cell or something. Pointless waste of time, as well is my commenting about it, but in the end trying this it will not work and hopefully I saved someone some time.🤦

    • @roberthoward5499
      @roberthoward5499  2 роки тому

      Shows how much you know.....It helped make the truck way more stable under throttle. It's not just the reciever,but the ESC as well that was moved. Also lowering the body dropped the CG and made it body roll less.

  • @familyman8644
    @familyman8644 5 років тому

    Add some weight to the front or lock that differential. Also get the -3° camber in the rear and get big bore shocks. Electronics doesn't make that much difference in weight. I run dual batteries so that helps balance out the truck along with added weight in the front
