Glad to see they updated it. Was looking into one and the lack of massaging seats in the front was a huge bummer and that small 7” MID was not it. Correct if I’m wrong but with this update, that means the LX joins the club of very few vehicles to offer 3 locking diffs?, I can only think of the G-Wagen, Jeep Wrangler and Land Rover Defender off the top of my head. In 2004 retired and moved up to the Village’s north central part of the state hoping to get away from hurricanes like Andrew, etc. Well everything seems to have shifted up our way! I am not sure what percentage of LX owners really go off roading. To me, most these capabilities are more appropriate for GX and LX should offer more refinement and luxury, such as longer wheelbase and more room inside, pano roof, larger multimedia screen and extras like massage seats, etc.
The Overtrail has 3 Diff-locks, centre, rear and front, making it the most prepared off roader in the Toyota lineup for the USA. This Overtrail model is equivalent to the Land Cruiser 300 GR, which also has the 3 diffs.
I understand Toyota/Lexus being conservative with the LX/ LC300 and using the Tundra/ Sequoia to launch the hybrid then use the last 3 years to resolve any issues with the set up… I was however hoping that once the engine did make it into the LX/LC300 they would bring an upgrade version using newer batteries etc… from what you say it doesn’t appear to have
LX gets a excellent update and this hybrid version is something they should have offered from the start as well ❤. LX is a excellent flagship full size luxury Suv and only the Range Rover defender 130 G class GLS and X7 is better.
I thought they’d bring the first facelift to this and the LC300 to bring them up to date on tech and styling… maybe that’ll happen for the MY26 model. A stretched wheelbase by 6-8 inches would also be awesome

That's like saying a escalade is better than a g class all because its bit a bigger we are talking about luxury SUVs and not not normal non luxury full size SUVs.
Overtrail model is just what the doctor ordered in that color is Killer. Not having a split tailgate will really be hard pill to swallow when I upgrade from the LX570 - we use that split all the damn time. Only other wish was for a plug-in hybrid. Even if it was like 20 miles of range, that would be pretty amazing for around town and doing camping things. This all sounds promising otherwise, specifically that they seem to look to making things reliable and redundancies. Also updating the interior screens is fantastic. Would have loved to have the traditional shifter though. Plug-In Hybrid is also proving to be very reliable in times of hurricanes, speaking of florida. A guy posted on reddit how he was using his Rav4 Prime essentially as a generator for emergency use, 1500w was giving him fridge and lights.

I want an 3rd row GX Overtrail + but that's never going to happen so this new LX Overtrail with an optional 3rd row sounds like a great option. Assuming the U.S. does get the triple lockers, it's a huge upgrade over the previous model year LXs from this generation.

It needs a Hybrid and needs the updates in the Lexus Engine new back up tech and Gets tweaks that build the subtle strength of the brand again to what it needed to be. Front massage seats, the gauge cluster now digital, updated Power base for Watts and charging. The strength and reliability with the new LX features will help this car "hold court" well. Lexus are becoming more and more well know for reliability ad Hybrid Excellence. The car had to reach this high water mark to be exposed or on the radar of the key people/clientèle who will genuinely be interested in it. Its a GREAT buy really against the competition.

Lexus needs not only make a hybrid for the LX, they also need to update the interior dash layout, Panoramic roof, stretch it about 4-5 inches to compete with Infiniti and all the American Full size SUVs.
LX is miles better than the QX80 and overrated American rivals in every level. LX has a extremely luxurious interior with Great comfort refinement luxury and more. LX is based on the land cruiser 300 series so it would cost them too much money to add something for one single market. importantly LX has better power performance interior design comfort luxury and more compared to the unnecessarily screen overload loaded interior of the QX80 and american rivals

I’m hoping Lexus also makes the range of these cars better. This should easily get 500-600 miles with a hybrid system and larger fuel tank.

Tundra uses a NiMH and this is using Lithium Ion. I’m not sure which battery the Sequoia uses.

You have no idea what the Land Cruiser represents. The wheelbase is what it is for perfect off-road capability. A longer wheelbase would ruin it.

The Expedition is going to the split tailgate now. I’m sure Lexus will bring it back in the future as it becomes popular again.
