Randy Bachman co-founded The Guess Who with Burton Cummings in the '60s before co-founding BTO with Fred Turner in the early '70s. Next check out "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet".
THIS is one of my "saddle-up the Harley n crank it up" songs. I'm almost 55, and these classics will never get old. Thank you Shawn ! Your channel is excellent. I really appreciate your reactions, and sharing these great tunes !
Shawn, the song BLUE COLLAR, from their first album, has a different vibe. It is a jazz rock fusion piece. However, the guitar solo is incredible. If you want a high-energy song, listen to Roll on Down the Highway.
Great reaction Shawn...👍. I remember back when these guys first exploded onto the Canadian music scene. Love Fred Turner's growling voice and the sound of whole group themselves. Fabulous tune, spectacular vocals...👍🎤🎸🇨🇦
BTO played at our community college before they became more well known. I sat on the floor in a medium-size room with BTO banging the whole night. Awesome concert. REO Speedwagon did the same a few years before they became famous. Great time to be a teen.
Randy Bachman was part of The Guess Who & then went on to form the band BTO in 1973. Both were great Canadian rock bands. BTO had a lot of great songs in the 70's such as "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet", "Takin' Care Of Business", "Hey You", "Roll On Down The Highway", "Lookin' Out For #1", "Not Fragile", "Four Wheel Drive" etc.
OVER New Year's Eve & New Year's Day....1975 & '76 attended the 2-day rock festival inside of Diamondhead Crater in Honolulu , HI... Headliners were BTO & America...along with Cheech & Chong, Seals & Crofts, Sly Stone, Billy Preston, Melissa Manchester & many others. MUCH smoke rose from the volcano that weekend.
She the one who cheated. He says "Where you been out running, I've been waiting half the night?" And "Baby you want the forgiving kind but that's just not my style." He's saying, "if it were ME who told YOU that they lied, would YOU let it ride?"
I only had the albums so I never knew this was the B side of tramp. I know that tramp was included on their greatest hits but I never remember hearing it on the radio hardly ever. But I know that a lot of us loved it and it was a common thing to play, especially by slightly older kids. I even covered in a band in my senior year of high school. It's got this incredible circular chord structure and it really is fun. I wish you would react to that as well. You really seem to get these guys.
This still sounds so good today as when it came out. Love the guitar work, the harmonies, the drum work just the whole package. I like the change ups as well. Really miss the 70's music because the was so much good stuff. I can remember bring in the car and you would hear this coming from someone else's car and you had to find the station playing it. Your reaction is a lot like when this came out we loved it. You should check out Vehicle by Ides Of March another banger.
One of my favorite songs of all time. Such a banger, but really get into the lyrics it started with his premise but it ended up a sad break-up song. "and would you cry, if I told you that I lied, and would you say goodbye, or would you let it ride." And his screaming is epic!
Love your enthusiasm and this is indeed a banger to me and always has been since I heard it when I was really young. But I would definitely point out that they essentially had three lead singers in the band, and therefore that is why they're so rich in vocals on their whole catalog. Tons of hits and just easy to like. They're just something that's easy to like about it. And you have to realize that they pulled this stuff off live. They were just that good.
Bachman used to be The Guess Who, but he & Burton Cummings had some disagreements, which caused them to split. Bachman started his own band…Bachman Turner Overdrive ( BTO ) his brother played the drums.👍💙
Great reaction Shawn!! This is killer indeed!! BTO - a Canadian staple...just solid rock and roll through and through! Randy Bachman is already legendary for his involvement in The Guess Who, then he gets involved with his brothers Robbie & Tim, and Fred Turner & make another killer rock band!! I would HIGHLY recommend checking the cover of this song from another incredible Canadian rock band, Big Sugar!! Gordie Johnson takes this song to another level! The say what's in a name? Well, Overdrive is certainly what you get with this! Cheers from Canada!!
Yea man, this is definitely a banger, really like this one by them. Their two most popular songs, I couldn't get into for some reason. I mean, the band was really good, but this one got to me, peace.
It was really fun watching you react to this one, and in answer to your question, I've always heard his name pronounced "Bockman", rhyming with "rockman". (Pretty fitting, eh? 😉)
You should check out them doing this LIVE... As good, or better, than the studio version... Lead guitar (Randy Bachman) and drummer (Robert B) are both originally from The Guess Who... whose most iconic hit was 'American Woman' sung by Burton Cummings... Fred Turner (bass) does the lead vocals here... PEACE OUT
I Can’t Believe it, but I Really feel this and u get it! There’s a couple young kids that are on here. I don’t know their names I was scrolling through. I usually watch yours anyway, they did a reaction and they think it’s driving a car or something like that. They have no idea what the songs about or and they don’t understand, really anything about it. You probably don’t know anything about it either but, you FEEL it, and you understand the quality of the voice and if you look at the words, you’ll understand what he’s talking about a little better. Great, great great job.!!!
Ah the great C F Turner on vocals, much better than Randy's. My next choice is Blue Collar as said below way different sound slower more blues/jazzy with an awesome guitar solo from Randy and great lyrics , music and vocals from Turner. This will be a hard request because it's not paid for but you'll like it
Fairly new sub and you're my favorite reaction channel. You're putting smiles on the faces of a lot of old fucks like me. And others I'm sure. Rock on.🤘
First time I've watched your channel and it's the song that led me here. I'm an old BTO fan. You seem like an honest reactor that is not over the top. I subbed for your enthusiasm. It sounds like bok man. This band was not that appealing to look at, but they played their asses off.
LOL ... that was kick ass, wasn't it? I've been hearing them since the 70's, but only recently heard a song called "My Wheels Won't Turn" ... they have plenty of other kicking tunes.
That’s funny I watch you react to the video and then I went to another video and I only watched you for about one minute so I didn’t get to the part that you were talking about the words. That’s the difference between YOU and people that just react to a song but they don’t investigate it. They think people are talking about something completely different, when I first heard this song in the late 70s, I didn’t know if they were talking about either until I looked at the words pretty cool. I’m gonna listen to you from now on the full video. You’re very artistic and you get it. There’s not a lot of people that really get it. U can definitely relate as if you grew up in that time.😇
Absolutely my favorite BTO tune! NEVER gets old!!!!
I recently heard that their hometown of Winnipeg is renaming a bridge, the Bachman Turner Overdrive. I love this idea.
BTO ruled the airwaves when I was a kid....love hearing this great song again!!!
This is their best song. An absolute banger.
Agreed. You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet and Taking Care of Business are both great songs but I think this tops them both.
AGREED
Love BTO, Roll on Down the Highway a must
Fred Turner's favorite song is Blue Collar. Jazzy, laid back, beautiful guitar work. Need to give it a listen.
Awesome reaction....this song is the bomb!.....one of my favourites of all time!
Randy Bachman co-founded The Guess Who with Burton Cummings in the '60s before co-founding BTO with Fred Turner in the early '70s. Next check out "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet".
Absolutely one of BTO's best tunes...absolutely! Great tune, great reaction man...
Fred Turner is the lead singer on this song.
THIS is one of my "saddle-up the Harley n crank it up" songs. I'm almost 55, and these classics will never get old. Thank you Shawn ! Your channel is excellent. I really appreciate your reactions, and sharing these great tunes !
Fred does lead vocals on Roll On Down The Highway also. These guys are great live !
THAT is my second-fave BTO tunes! Banger with an irresistible beat!!
"Roll, Roll, Roll!"
BTO played at the Rock festival in 2004 in Sacramento, CA. We all had tears in our eyes when Fred screamed that last note. AMAZING!
Fred Turner had the most blue jeans & t-shirt 70's rock n roll voice ever....."Roll on Down the Highway" is a must too.
YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET, ROLL ON DOWN THE HIGHWAY, HEY YOU 👍THERE'S A FEW MORE GR8'S 😊
Roll on Down the Highway makes you drive about 110. mph.
Shawn, the song BLUE COLLAR, from their first album, has a different vibe. It is a jazz rock fusion piece. However, the guitar solo is incredible. If you want a high-energy song, listen to Roll on Down the Highway.
Blue Collar is their masterpiece, imo.
Great reaction Shawn...👍. I remember back when these guys first exploded onto the Canadian music scene. Love Fred Turner's growling voice and the sound of whole group themselves. Fabulous tune, spectacular vocals...👍🎤🎸🇨🇦
Great singing, guitar rift, drums - banger Banger BANGER!

Such a hard rockin 80s classic! Those rhythms and riffs are pure gold! Takin Care of Business is another banger from BTO
1974. I was in high school. Remember it well
Great reaction to my hometown boys from Winnipeg, Canada
Banger song!
Another one with Fred Turner on vocals is Not Fragile
Cheers
Bought this album, 8-track?, back when it came 50 or so years ago. Those were the days.
Awesome ta see the next generation introduced to the music i grew up with. Keep it uo, man... 👍
…..another 70’s banger ! ❤️🔥🎸 “BTO” was the sound of my childhood !
On this one you have
FC Turner lead vocals/ bass
Randy Bachman lead guitar
Rob Bachman. Drums
Tim Bachman guitar
Shawn, another great song AND great reaction
For a different style: listen to BTO's '' Blue Collar''-my theme song at certain time of my life.
She the one who cheated. He says "Where you been out running, I've been waiting half the night?" And "Baby you want the forgiving kind but that's just not my style."
He's saying, "if it were ME who told YOU that they lied, would YOU let it ride?"

Without a doubt, their best song!!! (And "Liar" is Three Dog Night's best song, hint hint.)
Fun reaction to an AMAZING song! You have true appreciation Shawn!!!! 😀
Great Reaction!!

Fantastic 70s Rock and Roll!
Great song. One of the first albums I ever owned, (a Christmas present) was the best of BTO, and I loved it as much at 12 as I do at 60.
Bachman used to be The Guess Who, but he & Burton Cummings had some disagreements, which caused them to split. Bachman started his own band…Bachman Turner Overdrive ( BTO ) his brother played the drums.👍💙
A banger for cruising! Used to listen to it all they high school.
Banger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Give It Time, Blue Collar, Free Wheelin,(Dedicated to Duane Allman) more really good songs by these guys from Canada

I saw BTO a few times over the years and once Fred Turner called this Northwestern Thunder.
Yeah, boi. Definitely a 70s classic. BTO cranked out a fair number. Great reaction.

BTO was pretty big back in the day.
After growing up on lots of BTO I can say this song is my favorite 🔥

Great song and band! And yes it’s a banger is right!
Next: Takin Care Of Business
Saw them in Concert in 1985.
"Blue Collar " might interest you, more jazzy and Randy Bachman shows his versatility.
Awesome reference to Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction by the way. Hats off.
Yea man, this is definitely a banger, really like this one by them. Their two most popular songs, I couldn't get into for some reason. I mean, the band was really good, but this one got to me, peace.
I remember hearing this one on my way to school when it was released.
Love your reaction to this song and band!!!!!

Canadian icons. Check out BTO’s Blue Collar. It’s an ode to we’re all different but fundamentally the same, like Everyday People by SFS.
one of their finest, the entire second side of Not Fragile needs to be heard. You can try side 1 too.
These guys were so fun😊
BTO, IS 🔥🔥🔥🔥🥰
Ah the great C F Turner on vocals, much better than Randy's. My next choice is Blue Collar as said below way different sound slower more blues/jazzy with an awesome guitar solo from Randy and great lyrics , music and vocals from Turner. Great song! Check out Rolling Down the Highway and You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet. 70s all the way....
Mid-seventies same time. What was Burton Cummings doing his masterpiece Stand Tall
LOL ... that was kick ass, wasn't it? I've been hearing them since the 70's, but only recently heard a song called "My Wheels Won't Turn" ... they have plenty of other kicking tunes.
I think you'd love 38 Special!
