I Went Undercover in a Scam Call Center | Fakes, Frauds & Scammers
Вставка
- Опубліковано 22 сер 2021
- Most scam callers will do whatever it takes to steal your money. Most feel no guilt, but a small few know they are doing the wrong thing. We speak to Casey, a former scammer in India who is now working undercover in call centres - gathering evidence to help warn would-be scam victims (who sometimes listen, but sometimes fall for the scam anyway).
We also speak with Ben aka. Pleasant Green, a UA-cam scam baiter who works to expose and catch scammers across the world. He recently joined forces with Casey, to try and save people who are about to be scammed out of their life savings.
In a series of candid interviews, Fakes, Frauds & Scammers relives some of the most audacious scams and fraudulent stunts of our time from the mouths of the perpetrators themselves. Whether it’s money, fame or simply an addiction to lying, we find out what motivated these tricksters and whether the highs, lows and ramifications were worth it in the end.

Exactly me and my partner never answer phone calls unless we recognize it. Anyone legit should leave a voice message, then I can phone them back using the official number by looking up the real company. Banks etc always send letters with proof of your identity, they never send you personal emails or phone calls, at least in the UK. When I’m not doing much when they call I like leading them on. I kept one woman on the phone for 2 hours once. When I needed to end the call I told her that the FBI had a good fix on her location so I was hanging up now! It’s kind of mean but what they’re doing is way worse! I think the worse are the romance scammers because they not only bleed their victims dry they also play with the person’s emotions. There have been cases of some of the victims committing suicide because their heart was so broken. It’s very sad.
I've never heard of a romance scammer. What is it they do to people?

My friend had worked for these types of call center for six months. His father had kicked him out because he wanted to be a journalist instead of an engineer. At that time he was in his second year of engineering with me in Delhi's reputed college. After working six months in call center, he had enough money to pay for his tution, So he left the job and completed the journalism. South Florida is a breeding center for these boiler rooms. I knew of many different kinds of call centers from cruise ships to blade companies for construction companies to personal debt repair. The scary part that I learned is how they could buy thousands of "leads" or in other words your personal information from a basic name and address to detailed info on particular spending habits and past buying habits that would almost legitimize themselves over the phone.
And it's not an angry employee that sells that info. It's the actual company you trust making that extra money at your expense.
an after the leads get used up few 100 times they resell to the next guy an so on, a better option is to have a scam id block most cell phone providers offer it now, still going to get them calls just maybe 1 a month vs 1 a day

please keep doing the good work. I was almost scammed online from a phone number that says they could retrieve deleted emails. They aske me to give them access to my computer. I did not. Another scam is someone threatens suicide in a chat-room. Then they make you feel like calling them to save their life. When you call, all your phone credit automatically goes to them as a charity donation.
I feel like this dude should have wore sunglasses to hide his identity
I love when scammers call me, I love messing with them and wasting their time. Then blasting their number on Twitter so more ppl can do the same. Keep the calls coming scammers
That's what I do. It's a great past time, I built then up and when the time is right, I knock em down and hit em where it hurts. Afterwards, they might rage , but they are sure to get mad and block us. I do my best to run then off the internet.
Great public service!
@@sociolocomtsac 😆
@@sociolocomtsac yes indeed
Damn that lady crying when she said it’s a scam, she probably felt so much relief.
Well done vice..
Feels sad and good at the same time being an Indian. I have managed call centers for a good part of my professional life and fraudulent businesses like these sure do effect us adversely in doing our jobs as I have found more and more folks from the US refusing to believe anyone who has the Indian accent and considers us scammers though there is no talk of money and its just a recruitment or hiring or credentialing call. God help us all!
I had a scammer called me with a deep accent from India he told me his name was officer Tyrone Jackson from IRS... I started laughing my ass off 🤣
Lol I hand a strong accented Indian call me telling me their name was John Smith 😑 I was like bruh really?
Awesome piece
That call with that mother was so heartwarming.
Not all heros wear capes
