- This is my first video, please be kind! :)
I'm NOT a native english speaker! I'm Italian.
It's just a "quick" overview I wanted to share!
Sorry for the watermark (the app told me I got a free unwatermarked export, IS A LIE xD )
I want to thanks everyone on the pistorm's discord!
Thanks to Michal Schulz and Claude Schwartz and all other coders awesome minds that permits us to have such beutiful open source hw!
Thanks to my friend M! katzazakis for the infinite support and friendship
And all the others I forgot!
Your English is very good my friend 🙂
too kind Capt!
English, quite good except pronounce pi as pie not pee. Bad visual when one hears pee storm😅

Wrong way round (L=R) and amazing Claudio Guastella. Godot thought experiment with two 1200 Amiga's, one Ryzen 5 envy, one Dell and so on ✔
I've recently started getting back into the Amiga and am still waiting for the PiStorm32 I ordered from RetroPassion. Really look forward to trying it out on my A1200 which has a Blizzard accelerator at the moment. Enjoyed the video and look forward to seeing more content. Great to see people still keeping the Amiga Alive in 2023.
Thanks a lot!
Thank you for uploading this video, I was not 100% aware of the A1200 pi storm so I shall be hunting one of these out asap :)
Claudio, cool video, nice to watch, thank you ! you should do it more often :)
Very nice video, especially for it being your first one, and well put together!
I have recently received my Pistorm32-Lite, which I am going to use with my Raspberry Pi 4 with the latest emu68 available.
By the way, I loved the bloopers at the end hahaha! 😀
Non c'è cosa migliore al mondo che vedere l'AMIGA andare come un missile
Good presentation. Thanks. :) Also, on the funny note, the mirrored image allows to simulate how it would be if the platform games was meant to walk through from right to left. :D
LOL xD true
No worries, you are an Amiga fan so nothing but love from the true Amiga geeks! Great video and keep having fun!
It's amazing really.. living here in Australia (Down-Under) .. I'm so used to text being the other way up and the A1200's are on the other side. Do you drive on the opposite side of the road also? (..asking for a friend .. promise)
ahahahhah reversed is do we everything xD
great vid thanks for posting! I'm just waiting for my Pi to arrive to join the Storm :-)
I am from Denmark and understood everything you said. So no worries. Looking forward to more videos about Amiga
Thanks a lot! :)
Zirveye ulaştık nihayet..
This is a good video, I would recommend OBS for capture, as it is completely free with no tricks and Davinci resolve is good for editing and is also free. I didn't get the cable with mine that connected to the IDE port. I assume it isn't necessary, I've yet to set mine up :)
Just suscribed!! For an spanish person I am..... your english is perfect for me!! Lets see if i finally update my A1200 somehow!!! Keep them coming!! Good work!!!
It's a great time for an upgrade! have fun and thanks for subscribing!
Hello Claudio, thanks for the video it helps. I bought last year the pistorm32 lite with its already prepared micro sd card, fitted it with a raspberry pi3b+ and get an additional great 700Mo fast ram but only a grey screen display with a bird from the hdmi port. What is beeing installed on your system to get a workbench display up and running please? Any feedback is very welcome. Many thanks, Henry

Congratulations on your first video. Your English is fine; it’s certainly better than my Italian! I look forward to your next video!
…and I love the post credit scene!!!
Thanks! 😍
😽
I enjoyed the video Claudio and it was very clear. Regards from England.
I enjoyed, not boring at all, Your English is better than mine and I'm English
Very nice & very good but the ad banner in the middle is not possible: please use davinci resolve FREE
I just have a quick question how and what did you use to get the Mac os working on the pi storm which os version and instructions if possible :)
Getting one setup for the 500 and want to try this.
Hi there, the emulator is SheepShaver! For an easy configuration, you can try the awesome caffeineOS from Pedro Cotter :)
Thanks Claudio, is it difficult to put Amiga classic games through the same monitor as your high end pistorm applications?
It's something that it's still being developed, but will be possible!
Great video, mate. hope you keep up the great work 👍
Thanks a lot!
Good video. Can't wait for my pistorm32 to come in. By the way, your cat looks hungry...
Sonic is always hungry 🐈, thanks!
The Amiga 1200 is on the table ;)
There is the pen too! xD
@@-H3li03- xD
Bel video , farai qualche tutorial anche in italiano sul pistorm32?
Grazie, e' una buona idea :)
Muy buena! Es una Pi 3A+? Gracias!
can it run sorbet leopard or the tiger version? if i could get it to play youtube i would use it as my everyday pc! lol
The reason that Frontier 2 is a slide show on PiStorm is an issue with chip ram, the PiStorm doesn't access it at full speed. I think it causes some slowdowns in turrican 2 as well, I'm pretty sure it's being addressed and their should eventually be a fix......
You got it wrong the left side, is the stock amiga 500, the right side, flying, is the pistorm... Chip speed on the pistorm32 is faster than stock around 1.5 times better. There are incompatibilities in any accellerator, even the old ones, but this time, there are people working on fixing those. :^)
@@-H3li03- ah ok my mistake lol
Would you say this is a better option than the Icedrake or other vampire cards?
I think, that right know it, with a pi3 is the best choice, no doubt.
Great video. Thanks. Grazie!
Grazie a te :)
Hi, can you tell me how you change the desktop image? Thank you. 😂
Hi
in your video 17:20 minute, where could you download magic workbench?
Sorry, that's a private distribution we do not shared.
Great video - thank you!!
@@-H3li03- grazie ci do un occhiata
hi, look into using Davinci Resolve for your video my friend .. get rid of that irritating Wondershare splash, I use it all the time and it helps !! there is a FREE edition .. its all you need
Thanks, I managed to find a good editing program, I posted a new video about another add on for the 1200, it's without the watermark and flipped correctly this time!
@@-H3li03- Thats good ! yeh i miss my old Amigas!!
Does the raspberry pi4 fit in the amiga 1200 case? or does only the rasp pi3 fit (A or B)?
pi4 fits as good as the pi3 but there are yet some little bugs with it...
Where did you get the PiStorm from?
I got it from a user on the main pistorm discord channel.
Nice Video, showing a lot! 🙂
Thanks! :)
Good content! Any way to get video horizontally flipped so it's not a mirror image?
Ohh, sorry for that, it's an editing error...
It's interesting, but I always wonder if it's still a real Amiga after such improvements. I always imagine if someone asked about the Amiga on a visit and wanted to see how it worked, I'd have to explain to them that this isn't real Amiga speed. He'd probably be amazed that they still make Amiga accessories these days, but he'd also probably want to see how the real Amiga works and how it worked back then.
BTW. There are plenty of free editing programs, without watermarking. Try DaVinci Resolve Free, or CapCut, etc.
we are always talking about a computer that without this kinds of "tricks" would have only been obsolete. The evolution of the amiga after commodore's bankrupt was 100% based on stuff that that enhanced "denaturing the amiga"- PPCs, then "next gen" (totally new machines with almost nothing to do with real amiga if not parts of the operating system) Then in the recent times, FPGAs... The pistorm is now the cheapest and greatest choice, based on raspberry usage. Is it an amiga, yes, a modern one. Is this "an original amiga" nope probably, but it's what the awesome amiga community did to keep the machine usable to the max after all these years. And honestly its awesome, not to forget, that you can always remove such expensions and have your amiga back to roots! :)
Thanks for commenting and forever Amiga!
It is still a real Amiga. The PiStorm acts as an accelerator, like a TF1260 would do, or a Blizzard 1230 would do. The only emulated part is the CPU. The PiStorm isn't taking over the Amiga, like a Vampire does.
Awesome system 🥰❤️
Only Amiga makes it possible! ;)
Hi Claudio! Why did you skipped The Curse of Monkey Island intro? :-) Please get rid of watermark in the video for future and all will be good. Interesting and educative video my friend!
Ehi Bart! I know I am a sinner for skipping it xD Will take a look at a different software to fix the watermark issue! Thanks for the compliments for the video 💌
Excellent Content, except for the flickering CRT capture...but you will get there. 🙂
I try :) but thanks for viewing and commenting!
Which pi GPIO pins and IDE pins do you hook up for drive activity LED? Thanks.
The ide is connected to a pin on the pi, not to a GPIO pin :)
@@-H3li03- Thanks, which pin?
@@ddniUK gotta check, I dont remember!
@@ddniUK PP13 below the sd card slot... Keep in mind that you need a board that goes to some pins to the IDE board, is not just a wire going to a pin.
Can it do also PPC Games and Demos. It’s runs faster than my Vampire V4 Standalone and my TF1260. Would be great to use the PiStorm32.
Yeah, it's very fast but no, it emulates 680x0 CPUs so is not possible to use PPC applications and Operating systems
I wish people who are doing videos showing Amigas with all this power would do some cool science related or 3d rendering or image/video processing or playing with JWST data type projects. Just seems like such a waste not to do some useful stuff with it. Even cooler would be creating a UA-cam video including capturing the content then editing and things like that.
I can understand what you say, dont worry! :) Maybe in the future I willl try making something a bit more "heavy"
nice did you know your video is mirrored? aha its correct after 6 minutes
Yeap, this was my first video! I noticed too late and the watermark is the icing on the cake!
Where can you buy one of these for the 1200?
Not on ebay, these boards should NOT cost more than 80€ shipped!! Grab discord, go to the official pistorm channel, and take a look there ;)
